Another gripping story from Shalini Boland. This book tells the story of three females who have been friends from school days and how their lives turn out over the years . Lots of twists and turns and a very satisfying ending. I loved it. Highly recommended

Tia is a happily married mum of two but her daughter comes home and says some boys have been teasing her for having a murderer for a mum, and then she receives explicit photos of herself with a man she doesn't even remember meeting. Kelly is a widow with two young sons, who wants to spread kindness and invites an abuse victim to stay in her home. Fiona is a business woman who is undergoing a tax audit but hides it from her controlling husband. What secrets are waiting to be uncovered?
In the prologue we see a woman discovering her husband's suicide. Throughout the book we see a teenager who has been attacked by a teacher. How are these threads linked to the three women in the main plot?
The narrative is divided between the three central female characters. My sympathies expanded over the course of the book especially for Fiona when it became clear how afraid she is of her husband and how unhappy she is in her marriage. I felt least connected to Kelly as I couldn't understand what would make her take in a stranger especially when her boys are so delicate due to the death of their father.
All three women feel that their local community is set against them and the insiduous nature of rumours and doubts is well written. To be honest, the ending was not very believable although it was enjoyable enough once you suspended your disbelief and approached it as fiction (which it obviously is!)
Overall, One of Us is Lying was an enjoyable psychological thriller, full of sinister suspicion and with an emotional pull that developed over the course of the book.

It really pains me to have to do this as I am a massive Shalini Boland fan.....but this was so disappointing!

Shalini has blown me away with such great stories, twists and turns you don't see coming and honestly is one of the greatest domestic suspense writers on the market.

Missing was that usual grip her books usually have on me, missing was the big twist and reveal.

The book started at a steady pace and carried on that way right up until the end....it was just so...meh....

Shalini Boland knows how to write an engaging mystery. In her newest book, she follows the story of three friends who have known each other since high school. The story follows each friend's current struggles through relationships, finically issues and possible current or past criminal activity. I enjoyed all three main characters, and I was definitely rooting for each of them to succeed within their struggle. There were plot elements that were predictable mixed in with elements that provided some mystery. I had a good time with this book.

One Of Us Is Lying by Shalini Boland was another Excellent stand alone book. I was hooked within the first few pages. Shalini's books just get better and better. I always find her books so good, (and I've read lla of them) everything around me stops (housework etc) and I have to finish reading it!. She's an author you can get lost in the story line.

One of us is Lying follows 3 friends, friends, Kelly, Tia, and Fiona, their lives seems to be perfect in every way!

But is it?

Someone in their close community decides to take revenge for something they may of done many years ago.

But, who is it? and why are they taking revenge for something that happened so long ago!!!!

WoW.....What a great book! The end was a OMG! ending.

I highly recommend this psychological thriller.

If I could give Shalini 10 stars I would.

Big Thank you to Bookouture and Netgalley for mt advanced copy of this book to read. All opinions are my own and are in no way biased

One of Us Is Lying had me guessing as to exactly who was lying and why, right until the end of the book.
The book opens with Tia’s daughter asking her why she had murdered someone. It appears someone is out to destroy Tia’s reputation, but who and why? What is happening and why is it happening to her? Could it be someone she knows or is a stranger? Who can Tia trust?
Shalini Bolland is a talented author and this is another great read which has three strong female lead characters, Tia and her two closest friends, Kelly and Fiona. I really enjoyed this book.
Thanks to NetGalley for a Kindle copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

Another reason that I love Shalini Boland’s writing. This is a quick thrilling read. A great suspense that will keep you second guessing. It will grab you and keep you turning pages until the end. Definitely worth the read.

One of Us is Lying is yet another captivating, fast-paced psychological thriller by Shalini Boland. Narrated by three friends; Tia, Kelly and Fiona, this is a story about a small-town filled with secrets, lies, obsession and betrayal. Alongside the three main POVs, there is an anonymous narrator detailing events that took place in the past.

I love how the three POVs were intertwined. Each of the women was experiencing her own nightmare with secrets from the past coming back to bite them. I was afraid for each one of them. I liked Tia and her family and was worried about her losing everything due to the rumuors and threats. Fiona was hard to crack at first but she also ended up being quite sympathetic. Kelly’s story had my heart racing. At the same time, I kept wondering whether there was more to the women than what was being presented at first.

This was quite an enthralling, exciting read. I couldn’t stop turning the pages and for a while, I had something exciting to distract me from all the worries of the world. The twists and reveals had me pausing to catch my breathe a couple of time before diving back in. Shalini Boland truly is a masterful storyteller. I can’t wait to see what she comes up with next.

Small town secrets and gossip, tightly-plotted mystery, interesting characters, One of Us is Lying is definitely a book that I’d recommend to all fans of this genre.

One of Us is Lying is the first of Shalini Boland’s books that I’ve read and I’m sure it won’t be the last. It was a nice quick and easy page-turning thriller told from the perspectives of three best friends Kelly, Tia and Fiona.

When the women begin to be individually targeted by an unknown blackmailer they don’t automatically confide in each other or in their families. Somebody seems to be out to ruin their lives, though we’re not quite sure why. The plot builds steadily, slowly revealing more and more useful morsels of information, to a tense and thrilling ending, one which I hadn’t guessed and was pretty satisfying.

While I didn’t find the storyline to be particularly original I did think it was cleverly paced and I found that I cared about the fate of the 3 women, particularly Fiona, whose husband was absolutely vile (although I don’t really understand how she had managed to put up with him for so long).

Without giving away any spoilers, there were quite a few twists and turns in there, which kept me guessing, though there were one or two that struck me as a little bit far-fetched. Yet I found I was happy to suspend my disbelief for a while and get on board.
I raced through this book and would recommend if you like an intriguing mystery with a gripping ending.

One If Us Is Lying is the third book I’ve read by Shalini Boland and is becoming a favourite of mine.
Tia, Fiona and Kelly have been friends since school, they all have very different lives and circumstances now they are all grown up but they still live near each other and try and meet up whenever they can. I liked how each woman got her own chapter as I got to know each of them better through this and also that they were all hiding things to each other.
The book was fairly fast paced throughout and didn’t seem to slow down at any point, the ending was a bit of a rollercoaster and could easily see this as a one off on tv. I liked all the characters, they were all different but likeable. I enjoyed the writing style as it flowed very easily from page to page.
An enjoyable psychological thriller and can’t wait for the next one.
I would like to thank Netgalley and Bookouture for this ARC I received in exchange for an honest review.

Shalini Boland sure knows how to turn up the suspense in her books & One of Us is Lying is a prime example of it. Centered around 3 ordinary families grappling when an old truth resurfaces, this story is gripping & comes with many twists! Another reason I love her books because of the locations & the idyllic place it transports me to when reading her books.

Tia, Kelly & Fiona have been friends since childhood. Tia & Kelly, both happy moms have built a wonderful life for themselves. Fiona is a uber-successful businesswoman married to the love of her life. So when Tia's daughter returns home one day asking if Tia is a murderer, Tia is shocked beyond comprehension. Soon Fiona's business is visited by tax inspectors she suspects based on a tip-off. Kelly too gets tangled up in a mess that's too close to home. Soon the town starts whispering & rumors are spread about the three women. Who started these rumors, & who would threaten them and why would they target them?

I loved all characters in this book, especially the main characters - Tia & Fiona. Kelly seems a bit irresponsible & naive. The plot was great & compelling. It was a page-turner with a few good twists. The end was just a little bit predictable. I was expecting a big shocking twist at the end that never came, but the journey was just as great so I'm not complaining. I look forward to the next thriller by Shalini Boland!

Thank you, NetGalley, Bookouture & Shalini Boland for an arc!

Tia, Kelly & Fiona have been friends since school days. They have grown up & led quite different lives but have kept in touch & supported each other. Kelly has been widowed. She is bringing up her two sons & spends her days helping others. Tia has two small children & is happily married to Ed. Fiona has a high powered lifestyle with her Interior Design business & her husband is a big wheel in finance. On the surface things have been ticking along for them. Things start to fall apart- why does Tia's daughter ask her why she killed someone? Who tipped off the Tax Office to make them do an unexpected audit on Fiona's business? Is the person Kelly helped really what she seems? The three womens' lived spin out of control - who has a score to settle with them?

Shalini Boland's books are always good reads & this is no exception. Her characters are really well written & this makes the reader really engage with the story.

Thanks to Netgalley & the publisher for letting me read & review this book.

Tia is walking home with her children, along the lakeside of their quiet, safe town, when she realises something is wrong with her five-year-old daughter, Rosie. She seems troubled, not at all her usual happy self.

But when Tia finally coaxes Rosie to open up, she wishes she hadn’t. Because her sweet daughter asks a question Tia never thought she’d hear.

‘Why did you kill someone?’

Tia knows how rumours spread around her small town. She just can’t understand who would have shared such a horrible story. Or why.

It can’t have anything to do with what happened. Only her two best friends really remember that…

Tia thought she could trust Fiona and Kelly with her life. They’ve been through so much together. But when she’s sent photos of herself that could tear her whole world apart, she starts to wonder. Someone is determined to punish her. But who? And will her friends stand by her, or will the past destroy all of their lives?

One of us is Lying is about Tia, Kelly and Fiona, they've been best friends since school and throughout their adult lives, and have always been there for each other, but when strange things start happening to each of them, who will they turn to and do they trust each other enough to get through it unscathed and with their friendship intact? Someone knows something about them and wants to make them pay!

This story is told from the perspective of all three main characters, with snippets of an unknown person, is it one of the three or someone else from their past? Shalini Boland's books are so well written, fast paced and full of twists and one of only a few authors that I will read without even looking at the blurb first because I know, no matter what, that I will be completely lost in the story within the first few pages, and this one was no exception. It's a rollercoaster ride from start to finish and quite often had me holding my breath at many of the tense moments throughout. If you like a book that will reel you in quickly and keep you hooked, then look no further, this is one for you.

I'd like to thank Bookouture and Netgalley for the auto approval, I will post my review on Amazon and Goodreads.

This is the third book that I have read from this author, and so far I have not been disappointed.
Focusing around three friends, Tia, Fiona and Kelly, each chapter delivers a different perspective and the individual character's own plot thread. While interlinked, each have their own mysterious story, that kept me constantly guessing and intensely intrigued.
There were a couple unbelievable aspects to the story, but it didn't really put me off the story.
I also think that the conclusion wasn't as well thought out as it could of been, but the whole read kept me captivated from start to finish! I enjoyed it, regardless!
Can't wait to read from this author!

I am a great fan of this author and was really looking forward to this title and it really didn’t disappoint. This book was well written and well put together. I was on the Edge of my seat and couldn’t wait to find out the conclusion.

I received an ARC copy of this book from Net Galley in exchange for my honest opinion of it. I really enjoyed this book. It centers around three adult women who have been friends since high school. It was a little confusing at the beginning until I was able to figure out who each woman was as it was told by each person. There is a secret that they are keeping and there are some crazy things that happen to each of them. Many secrets and a few twists which kept me very interested until the end.

I’ve read a few books by this author & for me this one was a bit of a disappointment. I found it a bit hard to get into & a bit of a slow burner for me.

I’m sure I’ve said this before but I’ll say it again anyway, Shalini Boland is always one of those authors I can count on to really enjoy. This time picking up One Of Us Is Lying was no exception when I immediately became engrossed in this latest psychological thriller.

One Of Us Is Lying features three good friends and changes the point of view between them as they all begin to have their own issues happening in their lives. Tia’s young daughter comes home from school upset and seemingly somewhat scared when she finally admits to Tia someone at school accused her of being a killer.

On top of the vicious rumor her daughter heard at school Tia then finds some suspicious photos and wants to turn to her two good friends, Fiona and Kelly, for help. Fiona and Kelly however have had their own secrets coming into their lives with Kelly taking in a troubled woman and Fiona has troubles going on at work. Little do the women know they need each other more than ever now.

As always I probably broke a few records in how fast I can fly through one of this author’s thrillers when it becomes impossible to put down until I know the end. What begins as seemingly random all comes together nicely and gives another wild ride along the way that of course kept the pages turning. Definitely an author I will always pick up to see what she comes up with next.

I received an advance copy from the publisher via NetGalley.

Woah! This had me from the first few words. The ride was finished a few sleep deprived hours later. I really really enjoyed the plotline and the character development. The main characters behaved plausibly and had believable motives for their actions. The story for each of the main characters went deeper than I first realised and I genuinely cared about all of them. Highly recommended.
