This book was great! I dont typically fan over this type of fantasy book, but this one kept me on my toes. I like how it slowly gave back-story while keeping the action moving forward. This is the first book I have read of Steve Goodwin's and I think this is the 3rd book in the series. I don't feel like I was missing any information reading this book first. The ending wasn't as big and extravagant as I thought it was going to be, but I felt the ending was very meaningful. Definitely worth the read!

I'm just not a fan of fantasy but thought I'd give this one a try. It's an action-packed story about Sophia and Anne who grew up in an orphanage together. There's a mystical journey, cadavers, snakes, wolves, swords, and many adventures. Clearly Goodwin is a good writer and of course the battle between Good and Evil is always interesting. This just wasn't my cup of tea, but if you're a fan of fantasy it might be yours!

The plot of this book was intriguing and the characters were interesting. However, the style of writing was not to my tase, and I struggled to finish the book.

This book is different, but in a good way. I almost gave up on it. Many times when I read about the forces of good and evil, I feel the evil force very prominent in my life. I felt like I didn't need that right now and needed something more positive in my life. But I am glad that I persevered. The book seemed to drag in places, but it was still interesting. There is a good amount of theology that is sound. I found that part to be very inspiring. This book brings out the fact that, though unseen, there is good and evil in this world. Choose wisely who you will serve.

They were orphans, sisters of the soul and Sophia and Anne vowed to always be there for each other in the harsh world of nineteenth century England. Follow along as Sophia learns who she is, as her faith, love, fear and insecurities are explored alongside other characters that pepper this tale with their essence.

Steve Goodwin tells a tale that is part adventure, part Christian fiction and completely entertaining in THE ANGELIC GENE. Good versus evil, loving hearts versus hatred and strong spirits versus the weak-minded make this story one readers can think about long after finishing the final page.

Sophia and Anne meet in an orphanage when they were four years old. Sophia had been raised in the orphanage. Anne came when bother her parents had died in a tragic carriage accident.
The girls are bonded immediately. They do and share everything together. Some say they could be sisters. They both have black hair and arresting, brilliant green eyes.
At thirteen years of age another tragedy strikes. The sisters of the orphanage die when the orphanage goes up in flames.
It is then Anne learns the true purpose of her life.
Throughout their adventures they make many longlasting friendships.
This book is part fantasy, part religious.
It's a beautiful story and has quite a list of amazing characters. I enjoyed every minute of it.
