A chilling psychological thriller which will keep you engrossed till the very end. This is the first book I have read from this author, but it won't be my last. Recommended.
Mark Edwards is quickly becoming a favorite author! This ended up being not exactly what I expected and I mean that in the best way! Really enjoy his writing style, twists and turns I never see coming and a satisfying ending! Thank you so much!
Spooky and atmospheric, this is a great and compelling read which is exactly what would be expected from this author. Highly recommended.
This book was great. I love the plot twists and hated to put it down. The twist at the end was worth the wait 🌟🌟🌟🌟

This is an excellent read. Read in one day, it’s an amazing psychological thriller. Lots of suspense and twists with very interesting characters. I really like the author’s writing style which is fast paced and intense
A creepy ride. I enjoyed this book doing into the fall season and I recommend it to anyone wanting a binge worthy read.

I recently read Here to Stay so was excited to read another by Mark Edwards Again, what looks wonderful on the exterior tempts Ruth and Adam, a young British couple to house sit in New York. In love and loving their good luck, they welcome Eden into the home when she tells them she is a friend of the owners who is always welcome to stay whenever she is in town. Oh dear, what an error of judgement. Oh dear, but so glad they did as there is an over the top story that follows. Edwards is a great writer, who knows how to ramp the suspense with distractions and unknown dangers lurking all around. Excellent! Really enjoyed it!
Ruth, an aspiring actress and boyfriend Adam, a would be writer can’t believe their luck when they meet Mona and Jack on a cruise and are asked to house sit in their Brooklyn home. Things are great until there’s a knock on the door.... I loved this despite being a bit far fetched in some of the scenarios. But forget about that, this was one wild ride which doesn’t let up for a minute. The only respite is to put the book down! Thrills and spills all the time and for once I didn’t have to skim read. Don’t take it on a train or bus, you might be too engrossed to get off!
This reminded me a lot of the Gone Girl-esque books that are released lately. It was alright, but not my favorite plot line or scene for the novel. I enjoyed and would recommend but it wasn't my favorite.
To be honest, my initial impressions were not great. The initial premise was just a little too much of a stretch. People letting in strangers on a whim, people not being contactable, and the level of subterfuge and lies just didn’t seem realistic.
Glad I pressed on though! The plot and writing was still very enjoyable with some great twists and turns along the way. A definite page turner.
Very disappointed with this book by Mark Edwards, his are usually edge of the seat thrillers.
I found the concept great and the first quarter of the book had me interested and intrigued. Unfortunately, the book then went off at a tangent and the Author lost me completely, as far as the story went, but also as far as my interest went. The story was muddled, hard to follow and, in my opinion, rather implausible. A very weak ending too.
This was such a good book! I was in the mood to read a chilling thriller and that is what this was. I read the book in two sittings - it was just so hard to put it down. Great unexpected twists and turns!
A fast paced thriller. I loved the depiction of living in an amazing NYC location. I felt like I was reading a movie with lots of action going on. Some unbelievable plots but an entertaining read.
Another gripping read from Mark Edwards. Maybe not his finest but still very enjoyable for fans. I found myself going back to read every night until done.
It sounded really interesting and I was looking for something to keep me guessing, but I found this to be more predictable and less realistic/believable than I was hoping for. It wasn't bad, it just wasn't what I was hoping for going in and it wasn't great.
I love Mark Edwards’ writing. I fell in love with his writing after reading ‘The Retreat’ and have enjoyed a few more of his titles since. In this story, Adam and Ruth are House-sitting. They met Jack and Mona at a cruise. A quick friendship led to them being offered a chance to stay at the couple’s place when visiting New York. However, their stay was interrupted when Eden showed up claiming the be Jack and Mona’s friend. What unfolded next can only be described as total chaos.
Once again, Edwards was in his element in this book. It was utterly gripping, fast-paced and twisty. The chapters were short, snappy and easy to get lost into. My mind was racing as I tried to keep up with the mystery. I didn’t know who trust and couldn’t figure out what was really happening until the reveals.
Unfortunately, this wasn’t my favorite read by Edwards. The beginning of the story was insanely thrilling. However, I didn’t enjoy the final chapters (Part III) as much as I thought I would. The action felt a little over the top for my liking. The final scene especially just wasn’t for me. It just felt far-fetched.
That said, this was still a very entertaining read and if able to suspend disbelief, it is overall an enjoyable story. I can’t wait to see what the author comes up with next.
My second book by Mark Edwards, in the space of a week, and it was another great read. I thought it was going to be quite similar to ‘Here to Stay’ with how it started, but it really wasn’t! Great plot, easy writing and short/sharp chapters. Just like the previous book I’ve read by Mark, the ending was intriguing. The book is tied up nicely, doesn’t leave you with any unanswered questions at all, but there is a will it/won’t it happen sort of vibe which I actually really enjoy. Great book.
