Private Investigator Tyrone Swift gets asked to look into what happened to sisters Kelly and Faith Dwyer. They were attacked while on a ferry crossing. Kelly was hit in the head with a hammer and then thrown overboard to drown. The other sister, Faith, was also hit in the head with a hammer, but left for dead. She has no memory of what happened. Her brain injury has left her with few memories of anything.

What Swift finds is that people who knew the sisters have different motives .... the girl whose face she scarred in childhood, the brother and sister she almost killed with a botched gas installation, the brother of her ex-husband, Neil, who was in a deadly car crash after one of their marital tiffs, the husband and son of the woman whose relapse she prompted in rehab, the charity she almost sank . . . the list goes on and on and on.

The plot is well crafted, with deftly drawn characters. The mystery starts at the very beginning and remains suspenseful until the very end. Although this is the 7th in the series, this is easily read as a stand alone. I highly recommend picking up the earlier books ... Swift is a multi-layered character that is not easily forgotten.

I like Gretta Mulrooney books. Especially ones with Branna in. She is Tyrone Swift's deaf infant and a little livewire. This one is no exception. Travelling from Dublin to London via the Liverpool ferry and by air, it's every bit as interesting and exciting as I've come to expect.

A well written book with lots of good dialogue, but it is very slow and the plot isn't that good. No suspense or action.

A tangled tale full of twists.Private detective Ty Swift has to discover who killed Kelly and his only witness has memory loss. Some good,interesting characters and some red herrings.

I received an Advanced Readers Copy of this book from NetGalley and Joffe Books, and this is my fair and honest opinion.

This was my first book by this author, so I wasn't really sure what to expect. Overall I thought the book was very well written, but it did take quite a while for me to get caught up into the storyline. I did find it to be an original story, surrounding the incident on a ferry that left one sister dead and the other with brain damage. Can Tyrone a private investigator whom is a distant relative uncover the reason behind the attack. I would suggest that those that enjoy a good mystery check out this book.

Another gripping instalment in this well established series with the return of several characters and a unique, intriguing plot.
I like the private investigator viewpoint, it makes a refreshing change to the typical police procedural.

Really enjoyed this story it was an excellent entertaining read. I am a big fan of Gretta Mulrooney and this didn’t disappoint. The characters were interesting and the story kept me engaged right the way through the book. I didn’t guess the bad guy either so that was a bonus! Highly recommend this series. This book can be read as a stand alone but I would recommend that you read the series in order so that you can get the full back story on the main characters. I don’t hesitate in giving this five stars it was a cracking read.

This book was just ok to me, somewhat flat, while the premise was interesting, it felt like it plodded along and even the ending didnt feel like an ending, could have been a lot better

Another very intense and thrilling read and well worth the read

This story is about a private investigator try to solve the mystery surrounding the death of a distant relative. Whilst digging into her past he realises more and more that she was actually quite the troublemaker. Throughout the story you hear of his own personal issues with his daughters mother, his partner and also his friend. Hes a very likeable character with an even more likeable cheeky young daughter. I found this book an easy read, although not the most gripping I certainly still enjoyed it. The plot is quite slow paced but I was always eager to keep reading to find out more.
If you would like a nice easy read I would recommend this book.

When on holiday in Ireland Ty is persuaded by his distant relative to look into the murder of one sister and serious attack on the other. Kelly Dwyer and Faith Black we’re travelling back from Ireland to their home in London on the ferry when Kelly was pushed overboard and Faith knocked unconscious, leaving her with memory and movement problems. Faith’s poor memory gives him little help so he has to dig into Kelly’s troubled past on his own.

I enjoyed Her Lost Sister which is a different kind of novel from the predecessors I have read. There are a few shocks but, on the whole, it is a much quieter novel with no big action scenes, just a slow unravelling of the facts. Kelly Dwyer has a troubled past with alcoholism and the associated behavioural issues so finding suspects is not an issue but most of the motives are so petty it’s difficult to believe they warrant the term suspect. I wasn’t even convinced by the solution.

The plot seems flimsy to me but I still found the novel very readable and I was itching to get back to it when I had to put it down. Much of this is due to Ty’s first person narrative. He has a compelling voice, an interesting life and a very agreeable outlook on life, either supportive or coercive depending on the circumstances. The novel comprises of him interviewing people from Kelly’s past so both these latter attitudes are on display. He’s very supportive of Faith and the honest but hard on those lying to him. He is also having relationship problems, trying to balance the demands of his ex partner, Ruth, and mother of his daughter, Branna, with those of his girlfriend, Nora. It seems like a lose-lose situation.

Her Lost Sister is a good read that I can recommend.

Plot and twists are good! I thought I knew whats going to happen but I was wrong. I finished it in one sitting!
