I really enjoyed this story. Both the heroine and hero were likable and entertaining. The villain was annoying. And the secondary characters leave you wanting to know more about them. Well done Ms. Blythe

I recieved a free copy from netgalley in exchange for an honest review. Honestly I dont feel like there is much to say about this book. It was pleasant, the H/h were pleasant, the story was pleasant. There was nothing special about anyone or anything in this book. Jasper has a tragic past that is mentioned twice and that's it. Nothing comes of it. Margaret's mother leaves her in the dukes room to force a compromising situation to make the duke marry Margaret. But Margaret does not want to trap a man so she escape. Jasper is filled with gratitude as a result and vows to find her another duke to marry. Nothing special about this book. But it wasn't horrible.

A ridiculous book and a real delight of a read. Quirky characters and scenarios. A lovely change from the standard regency romance. I couldn’t put it down. Recommend reading this as an enjoyable way to pass a few hours

Thank you to the publisher for the ARC given through NetGalley for an honest review.

This was a great story! I have not read the previous books from the author but now was not a problem when reading this one.

A solid 4 stars ⭐⭐⭐⭐

This is my first book by Ms Blythe and I adore it!
Jasper is so selfless and compassionate you can't help but fall in love with him. Margaret is humble, intelligent and so very likable. They are the perfect couple.
This story is well written and perfectly paced. It gripped me from the first chapter.

I can't wait to read Juliette's story!

This may be the funniest romance I have read in some time. The internal dialogue that takes place in Jasper’s head regarding Margaret is a story by itself! Once you add in Margaret’s family, including her bed-tying mamma, her dog, Lily, the duke’s friends and attendees to his house party, all kinds of mischief and mayhem occur. Most of it is around Jasper’s thoughts regarding Margaret as he begins to see her as ‘delectable’ and has ‘an odd temptation to kiss her,’ etc. Poor Jasper, who is so kind and helpful to everyone, doesn’t know what to do with the feelings that he is developing for Margaret. Even his friends tell him his courtship of Margaret should not include throwing her at other men.

Margaret truly cares for Jasper but does not want him forced into marriage due to being caught in a compromising position on more than one occasion, Such a fun book and great start to a new series, the Duke Hunters Club.

I received an ARC of "All You Need is a Duke" by Bianca Blythe from Netgalley. This is the first book I have read by this author and it definitely won't be the last one. Margaret Carberry, a young Scottish lady wishes to be a wallflower, but her mother has other plans. Jasper Tierney is the Duke of Jevington, and finds Margaret tied to his bed in his bedroom in the hopes of a marriage of convenience by Mrs. Carberry if they are both found in a compromising situation. He quickly helps untie her and saves them both before anyone knows any better. He then decides to help her find the best spouse for her by inviting her family and his friends, who happen to be a group of dukes for a weekend at one of his estates. Fun story!

This is the first book I've read by Bianca Blythe and I must say I found it thoroughly entertaining!

When Margaret Carnerry's mother ties her to the Duke of Jevington's bed in a scheming attempt to get her daughter compromised and married, Margaret enlists the duke's help and manages to flee through a window right before a crowd of people, including a vicar, pile into the room.
Grateful for Bianca's consideration toward him and his intention to remain unmarried, Jevington offers to return the favor by helping her find the husband she needs so her mother will stop pestering her. He decides to organize a house party where his friends (all dukes) will be able to get to know Bianca and fall madly in love with her. It's a foolproof plan. After all, Jevington has arranged it so it's bound to work. What could possibly go wrong?
Well for one thing, Jevington might about to discover that he wants Bianca for himself. The only question is whether or not he'll figure that out before another man claims her.

This is a Regency romp that had me laughing out loud throughout. Highly recommended for a light and fun read.

Miss Margaret Carberry, daughter of a Scottish tycoon is a wallflower which her mother hates. When Margaret attends the Duke of Jevington, Jasper Tierney, Margaret spills champagne on her ball gown. Her mother takes Margaret to the Duke’s bedchamber tearing her gown and tying her to the bedpost hoping that Margaret will be forced into a marriage with the Duke. When Jasper gets to his room, he sees Margaret tied to his bed. Jasper can’t figure out why she is tied to his bed but cuts her loose. Margaret hides out the window just as her mother tries to expose her in Jasper’s bed. Margaret knows this isn’t the end of her mother’s machinations and knows with Jasper’s help will find someone to marry. As Jasper is trying to help Margaret, he realizes marriage isn’t that bad and maybe he made a mistake in letting her escape. Can Jasper convince Margaret to choose and marry him instead of someone else?
What a delightful humorous Regency romance that was so much fun to read! The story is fresh and different with its own unique charm. The writing is fluid and just keeps the tale moving effortlessly! Even the characters major or minor are refreshing leaving us hoping that everyone will have their own book someday soon and the verbal banter will keep you smiling. Margaret the shy intelligent heroine is strong-willed and very likable that even with her quiet nature makes you just want to be her friend. Jasper the fun-loving roguish hero might act as if he wants to avoid marriage is really not annoying or trying very hard to avoid marriage. It’s hard to be mad at him and he is so easy to fall for too. Ms Blythe really knows how to write and tell a great story that is captivating and well worth a read!

All Margaret Carberry needed was a duke, or so her mother thought. After her mother organises for her to be tied to the bed of Jasper Tierney, the Duke of Jevington, Margaret cleverly escapes. In doing so, she captures the attention of Jasper, who when asked by Margaret to dance with her at the next ball, so that other men may find her interesting, Jasper proposes for her to attend a house party, where he will introduce her to his duke friends. However, it soon seems that the more time they spend together, the more reluctant that Jasper is to marry her off, nor is Margaret that keen to marry.
A sweet story, with two very delightful characters. Margaret is an independent soul and Jasper is a man, who whilst desperate not to marry, seemed utterly dependable and honourable. Throw in the horrible character of Owen, and Margaret’s meddling mother, this story made for an enjoyable read. Once again, it was lovely to see the wallflower win over a duke.

I went into this book with high hopes, but unfortunately, it did not deliver what I thought it promised in the description. Margaret and Jasper, our main characters, were lukewarm at best. Margaret, an opinionated wallflower who has no want for her a husband, didn't show the fire I would expect, given the author's initial presentation of the character. As you read further in the story, Margaret seesaws between rebelling against her mother and then being willing to marry a misogynistic dolt because it's her duty to be married. It was all very odd, and I never got a good read on what type of person she is.

And then there's Jasper. An oddball of a duke who literally hired bodyguards to...*looks back at notes*...protect him from Margaret's mother. I'm not lying, folks. I had to re-read that scene several times to understand why there were all of a sudden bodyguards for Jasper, and not only that, but they end up picking him up, throwing him over their shoulders, and hauling him away from the "threat", which at the time was Margaret. This felt so satirical, I had to remind myself that this was supposed to be an entirely serious action by Jasper. He actually thought this was a good idea. It also felt wildly inaccurate for the time period, but since I haven't done research myself, maybe dukes actually did that. Seems very excessive to me though. The author keeps mentioning how Jasper is outgoing, always looking for fun things to do and not serious enough. I didn't get that impression of him at all. The man was D-U-L-L. He was nice enough, but there was no interesting qualities that made me want to read more about him.

Finally the single solitary sex scene. Laughable. That's all I can say about it. Would have been better to make this a "clean" romance than have that in there.

The author shows promise, but for me, it's just not there yet. Characters need more fleshing out - that would have made the story much more enjoyable for me.

Well, I wish I could say I loved this story, but it was sort of dull for me. Jasper was a sweet duke, always being kind to others. Margaret was kind too, a bit of a wallflower. Her mother was evil. Sadly, we don't have enough conversations between the H&H. I wanted to know them better!

I won't spoil the plot. One thing I can say is that I'm glad they got their HEA.

This was a promising start to a trilogy. I thought the first third of the book was the best, then there were some aspects of the storyline that were hard to explain away. It also felt a bit like a second book in a series though, I almost felt like there were missing pieces from I previous book that I hadn’t read but that’s not the case. That being said, Margaret and Jasper has a good relationship even with the insertion of another potential love interest. All in all, I’ll probably read the second book. There were definitely some parts of the story that had me laughing!

This is the first book of the Duke Hunter Club series. In All You Need is a Duke, Jasper a confirmed bachelor and a Duke that just avoided the marriage noose! Margaret escaped the trap her mom had setup and in turn ask Jasper for a favor. Fun read, lots of ups and downs between the characters. Bianca description of characters is “Spot On”.....I can hear Margaret mother loud, screaming voice in my head. A little predictable ending but over all a good read. Looking forward to the next Duke story.

A Duke for a husband!

Well this had a five star promising start! Wallflower Margaret Carberry is deceived by her mother, tied to her host's bedposts and left there in a compromising position, with her desperate mother ready to shout foul! The prize-- a Duke for her daughter, and for herself a non too shabby son-in-law. A heady ascent to the ranks of the ton for a family that's made its wealth in "trade."
Fortunately for Jasper Tierney, the Duke of Jevington, Margaret shows more integrity than her scheming mother. Margaret's gutsy escape from the Duke's bedroom was hilarious, frightening and awesome, with a special thanks to the Duke's thoughtful butler.
Unfortunately from there on, although the situations as they developed had the bones to become hilarious or dangerous they mostly trailed of into insipidness. The fire of the first chapters was spent.
The Duke is a well meaning soul, definitely not a fribble, more a pleasant gudgeon, making all the wrong moves even as his heart was calling him to opposing actions as he pushed himself into finding a suitable husband for Margaret. To that end he holds a house party with all his dukely friends. Fertile ground for husband seeking with Jasper organizing the event.
I couldn't understand why Margaret didn't have more of a showdown with her mother. It's obvious her father would have supported her. This didn't tally with Margaret's first intrepid actions.
I'm also at loss to see how her friend, the engaged Lady Juliet was able to bounce around the countryside with Margaret when the need arose. I suspect that will become clearer in the next title in the series.
There are definitely moments of humor and charm in this "wallflower wins the day" tale, and as I said, the key plot points were terrific. Still for me they just didn't carry through with the same panache as the beginning promised.

Ms. Blythe definitely has a style of writing that is unique to her. Her heroines are always strong thinkers, thinkers that one might attribute to maturity, but they are supposed to be shy, retiring debutantes. Her heroes are are old men compared to the debs; usually running around 30-35 years old and lacking the maturity that even a 2o year old man should have. They are all reportedly suave, elegant rogues, but when they are with their heroines, they are petulant, whiny, and indecisive. The heroes act like adolescents and the heroines act like mature matrons of 40. She also verbose, a week can take a few paragraphs, but conversations can take multiple chapters. This is an observation of mine amongst a few authors. Would I recommend this book, it is well written with no discernible grammar or editing errors. The characters, excluded that which I wrote of above, are generally likeable. The story line was unique: a mother ties her daughter to a dukes bed, rips her dress to make it look like she was ravished and brings a bishop, no less, to be the witness of debauchery and to immediately wed them. Despite all the flaws, if you want a light read to brighten your day, this would work. 4.5 stars.

This is my voluntary fair and honest review, in my own words, for this ARC. This is a sweet and non-salacious read. If you like romance without any heat, then this book would really suit you. There isn't any graphic sex. My review is based on what appeals to me but the writing is still good.

All You Need Is A Duke is book one in The Duke Hunters Club by Bianca Blythe. I enjoyed it. There are so many hilariously funny moments. The heroine Margaret Carberry is not the typical Regency debutante. She is a shy, quiet and easily overlooked wallflower. I like how Margaret’s character develops and grows throughout the book. The hero Jasper Tierney, The Duke of Jevington is a delight. His affable personality hides a depth that Margaret helps uncover. There are several twists and turns in this story that I didn’t expect. A great book. I was given a copy of this book.

Witty, in places laugh out loud, charming. I thoroughly enjoyed this meeting between The Duke of Jeavington, Jasper, and Miss Margaret Corberry. Opposites attract, they are both comical, without realizing it. I truly needed a light-hearted read after a crime story, and this ticked all my boxes, with a few minor changes it will be perfect! I can't wait until the next story!
I highly recommend! Thank you Netgalley!
