First of all a big thank you to Netgalley, the author and the publishers for sending me a copy of this book to read and review.

I thought this was a cute story that dealt with some pretty heavy subjects. The main ones being grief and mental health. I thought that this book dealt with these matters well.

I thought the relationship between Izzy and Aidan was done really well too. In fact the relationships between all of the characters was done really well. I loved all the characters in this book, except one but it was a love to hate.

I adore Anna Bell & this one didn't disappoint funny, feel good & fabulous!

I got so invested in the characters I couldn't put it down.

This was a fun read and I did enjoy it but I just feel like it had too many plot points that were so obviously engineered for the story when the 100% reality wouldn't have happened. I also feel like the whole fake insta boyfriend was a little bit ridiculous for this story.

Consumed by grief, Izzy moves back her her home town and manages to find a temporary job.
Two years later, Izzy wants to leave the "temporary job" and become a full time influencer. The only problem is that no matter what she does, her followers on social media are not growing. This makes it difficult to influence anyone.

When Izzy's friend , Luke suggests that they join forces as a "fake couple" to boost both of their presence on SM, she jumps at the chance. Izzy thinks that all of her problems are over as they are lauded as THE couple but then she bumps in to Aiden who she knew a couple of years ago and her feelings leave her confused.

I don't think I can say that I enjoyed this book. I read it but I don't even know why or how I managed to finish it. There are characters here that I assume one is supposed to like but I just found Luke annoying and at times I found it difficult to remember that Izzy was actually supposed to be an adult and not the pre-teen that she was behaving like.

I enjoyed how social media and how easy it is to make things look better than they are, came under the spotlight.

A brilliant, light-hearted read. I liked the characters, and I thought the story line was very apt to current days.

Well I do love a book that features some sort of fake relationship, although not really sure I can explain why that is the case. I also love a book that features social media influences and find it amusing the lengths they go to, to show off their "perfect lives". Oh and I love Anna Bell's books too!

So unsurprisingly with all three of these elements present in We Just Clicked, i had a fantastic time reading it, and found the whole story rather enjoyable.

Especially when you take into account the initially handsome stranger who helps Izzy on the worst day of her life, but only knows the first name for, and the fact that she decided to enter into a fake "showmance" as such with Luke, to increase their followers, and hopefully become higher profile and be able to start making money from Instagram.

Now I've read a fair few books featuring the fake date trope and thus sort of knew what to expect, while at the same time I've also read a fair few featuring social media influencers and kind of knew what to expect but yet what you actually have with this book feels rather different, and not everything you may anticipate as outcomes from the tropes actually happens.

Yet there is also more to it then the tropes, there are memorable characters at Izzy's place of work, her best friend is fabulous and the story with Becca, her flatmate is so important and key and I loved seeing how that developed too.

Between the real and fake dates there are all manner of memorable and entertaining moments, plus one scene that turned my stomach and had me skipping a few pages as it was disgusting. Yet it's that scene that I bet men would laugh their heads off watching, if the book was made into a film!

There is so much to love about this book and I thoroughly enjoyed reading it.

Thank you to HQ and Netgalley for this copy which I have reviewed honestly and voluntarily.

This book just wasn't for me I'm afraid. Maybe I'm too old and grumpy or maybe I like my characters to have more depth, who knows?
Anyway it was left unfinished as I just didn't click with this one.

An absolutely gorgeous read that has you feeling heartbroken one minute, then laughing out loud the next.
The characters were just delightful, and the relationships between them all made me love it all the more. A highlight for me was definitely the relationship Izzy had with her best friend Marissa, it was completely and utterly heartwarming and exactly what I picture a best friend to be.
And then there's Aiden, who I have to say I was rooting for right from the start, he quite simply seemed perfect.

I could talk about this book all day long, but to sum it up I would have to say it is a definite must read that will leave you with a feeling of pure happiness inside. I loved it.

I read this for a blog tour.

A fun, entertaining rom com of a novel about falling in love, the perils of social media and why you really should stick to the truth.

This was a lovely, enjoyable read, perfect for when you want something light and pleasurable to read before bed, in the bath, or slumped on the sofa needing distraction from post-lockdown worries.

This is the first time I have read a book by Anna Hill, and it’s safe to say it won’t be my last. We Just Clicked has served as the perfect thing to get me out of my recent reading slump, if there’s one thing I love it’s a book that warns against living your life for Instagram!

I found Izzy (a character who is struggling with so much grief over the recent and unexpected death of her brother, that she takes it upon herself to create a different and ’more perfect’ life for herself on Instagram) to be very realistic, relatable, and likeable. Unlike some of the protagonist’s that you can find in other contemporary romances, Izzy actually had some depth to her, and I was certainly won over by her charm.

All in all, I really enjoyed this book, the storyline, and the characters. It made me genuinely laugh and cry, which is exactly what I needed right now, and for that I am going to give this book a well-deserved rating of 5/5 stars.

2.5 Stars

I love Anna Bell's writing technique. As this is not the first book I have read by this author, I believed I would be in for a good treat. As predicted this book is fast-paced and fun (with a few hard topics but overall fun). That being said, this book lacked character. The storyline was intriguing and I loved the social media element, however, I wasn't invested in the characters. If I'm honest the only character that really made an impression on me was Aiden. He was sweet and caring, I thoroughly enjoyed this character. I'm sorry but Luke really annoyed me. He annoyed me to a point to where I genuinely wanted to skim over his conversations. I couldn't read about him anymore. As a result, I found myself willing the book to end. Cringe, I know.

Even though the storyline had a lot of potential and Anna Bell's writing technique was amazing, this book fell short for me, which is reflected by the 2.5-star rating.

I absolutely adored this book. Funny, romantic and with a tinge of sadness these characters had my full attention all the way through. As soon as Aidan appeared in the opening scenes I knew I was going to love this character as much as Izzy would.

Grief and loss are always difficult to experience and navigate around but the author blended it so nicely with all the other moments of fun and humour which is so true to life as grief isn't an emotion experienced in isolation. The parts where Izzy talks about her brother Ben are quite sad and emotional but it really added depth and heart to the book.
This book also does female friendships really well. Izzy's friends and her other friends at work provided hilarity and many heartwarming scenes.

A lovely romantic comedy that will have you laughing and crying!

I really enjoyed this book!

In a time where social media is the norm it was a fun take on how easy it is to get caught up with followers, numbers and popularity.

It's important to remember that we only ever see what people want us to see and that numbers don't mean everything.

Whilst social media plays a big part of the book, the author also touches upon friendship and grief.

I loved the characters, you could really picture them. They were well written and entertaining.

This was a fun feel-good rom-com!

Thank you to NetGalley and HQ for providing me with an advance reader copy in exchange for an honest review.

I absolutely adored We Just Clicked, I couldn't stop reading. I just love contemporary romance right now and this ticked all the boxes for me. I've never been keen on the fake dating trope but Anna Bell did this trope so well. The characters had so much depth to them and I really loved the main characters. Luke however, I absolutely couldn't stand him and i'm so glad that he finally got his comeuppance at the end of the book.

The ending of this book was so lovely and wholesome, I can't get enough of Izzy and Adrian and I'd love to see more of this adorable couple.

This is a delightfully funny and heartwarming book that all of us in the social media age can relate to. The main character Izzy is the 'every girl' and it's impossible not to fall in love with her and care about what happens to her. There's a story of true love, and a real 'baddy' to growl at. This book has everything and is a perfect holiday read.

Any book that can bring out strong emotions is a good one, and this one by Anna Bell had me laughing one moment and crying the next. It was a roller coaster of emotions that I didn’t want to end, I loved every moment I spent with Izzy and her friends.

At its core this is a story of one woman’s struggle with grief. It was always close and affecting her in some way, and at times it was heartbreaking to read about it. I had tears in my eyes reading latter parts as Izzy comes to terms with her emotions, but it was lovely to see her start to make changes and take small steps forward.

It wasn’t all sad though, some parts genuinely had me laughing aloud. The antics Izzy and Luke got up to all in the name of the ‘gram were hilarious. My gosh, some of the stuff they got up to! The bits at the hotel were a particular highlight.

I would probably class this book more as women’s fiction than a romcom because I did find the romance lacking, I never really got a handle on the character of Aidan–yes he was lovely but he only showed up after the first quarter of the book, and after that he only plays small parts in the story. But this really just highlights the fact that this isn’t his story, it’s Izzy’s and the focus remains solely on her and her interactions with other characters. I really enjoyed her friendships with the other women in the story-Marissa and Becca, they shared some really heartwarming moments. Particularly with Becca, their shared history gave more weight to their relationship and it provided for some very interesting tension between them as they both tried to move on in different ways.

And lastly I can’t not mention her office friends and the Great Office Bake Off, they provided some of the best laughs in the story and I loved whenever it came up. I only wish my work was so fun!

Overall this was a lovely, light-hearted, yet deeply emotional story about grief and love and I highly recommend it. I laughed and cried my way through this book and I enjoyed every second of it.

{Many thanks to HQ and Netgalley for the ARC in exchange for an honest review}

Fast paced and funny, this is a real feel good story.

Looking at the world of social media, more specifically Instagram. We follow Izzy as she tries to make it as an influencer in the hopes that it will make her enough money to become her full time job.

She soon finds out that the concept of faking it to make it isn't all it's cracked up to be when it starts to interfere with real life goings on.

I've marked the story down by on star because it was obvious where it was headed.

That didn't spoil the book as the build up was filled with plenty of dramatic laugh out loud moments but it would have been nice to have been a little less predictable.

Over all an uplifting, sweet read that will leave you smiling.
