I have to admit I had apprehensions about this book!
I’ve read and loved Anna Bell’s novels before, but I dislike books about social media. The social media aspects of this book weren’t my favourite but were definitely needed for the plot. I loved loved loved some of these characters. Aiden, Izzy, Mrs H. They were so down to earth and realistic. The GBBO references really did have me laughing, and Barney the dog! What a legend.
I loved the relationship between Aiden and Izzy, from start to finish, how he literally picked her up and saved her in a time of need, right through to the very last scenes they share.
This book tugged at my heartstrings, Becca’s story specifically got to me because I lost my long term partner a few years ago and fell in love again soon after, the emotions she went through were so realistic to what I felt myself. The guilt of falling in love again, the guilt of moving on when people around you can’t. I found it really harrowing to read a story similar to my own. It was beautifully and accurately done.
What a lovely romantic comedy!

We Just Clicked by Anna Bell

Emotional Rollercoaster, Full on Romance, Heart-warming

We Just Clicked is one of those romance books that has way more depth to it that you realize. Don't be fooled this story will leave you wishing there was just one more chapter. What a fantastic Read! I loved the character development in this story. You really get a sense there is more than meets the eye for the 3 main characters. Each with his/her own reasons they do what they do. This is definitely more than just a romance. Izzy and Aiden will have your heart melting! I hope to hear more about these two characters in the future. Anna Bell knocked it out of the park with this one.

5/5 Brilliant Stars!

Thank you #NetGalley and #HQ for this book in exchange for my honest review.

It’s tough to gush without giving spoilers but here goes;
I swooned from the beginning, what a kind hearted man that was at the train station!
I judgingly (I’m making it a word!) rolled my eyes at another protagonist that wants to be a full time instagrammer.
I got surprisingly tearful at some scenes involving the protagonist’s brother.
I laughed at the very true office antics.
I prayed the IG relationship would hurry up and end or be disclosed sooner rather than later.
I fell for Barney (and Aidan), I’m a sucker for a dog!
This book had more heart and depth than a lot of women’s fiction or romance I read. I enjoyed it and therefore, I gave this book 4 stars!

It also made me smile that the Book is set in Basingstoke, the author liked my Instagram post that I was reading this book and commented that she hoped I enjoy it, that she also had Sheltie dogs growing up. But the book was still 4⭐️ without these things!

I received an e-ARC of this book from the publishers via NetGalley, however, these opinions are my own.

I loved this book and have enjoyed all the others by Anna Bell too. I enjoy that they are set in the South East with locations that I am familiar with. It has a great mix of everything humour, romance, friendships and is actually quite thought-provoking when you think about how some influencers portray their life, and how others want to live up to that false reality.

Great read.

I absolutely loved this book!

I’m a fan of Anna Bell novels and this one didn’t disappoint. Izzy is a brilliant character; she’s honest (even during her dishonesty!!), realistic, flawed and very likeable. The story centres around Instagram. Personally I’ve never used Instagram, but I’ve heard of it and understand how it all works (I’m not as old as that statement makes me sound). My lack of knowledge didn’t affect my understanding of the storyline. The author describes and explains everything so clearly.

Izzy and colleague Luke decide to fake a relationship to boost their chances at becoming Instagram influencers. Izzy meets Aiden, who is a great character and Izzy’s real love interest.

There are some really funny scenes... the food poisoning episode and Mrs Harris’ baking innuendoes! I actually did laugh at some of the funny moments, which doesn’t always happen when books are described as ‘comedy’ or ‘laugh out loud’. However, this really does have some very funny moments.

The only small negative, which is more down to personal preference than anything to do with the author, is the romantic scenes - the first time Izzy and Aiden kiss its a heated moment and one that’s been built up to for a while. However, the scene ends quickly and the next paragraph is the morning after. I’m not interested in a step by step erotic account of what happened, but it was a really abrupt way to end the moment and took away a lot of the romance from their first kiss/first time.

Anyway, despite my last point I really enjoyed this book and would recommend the book and author to all fans of romantic comedies.

Thank you NetGalley for my advanced copy of this book in exchange for an honest review 📚

We Just Clicked - Anna Bell ⭐⭐⭐⭐/5

Thanks to @netgalley & @hqstories for this light hearted read with a great cast of characters.

Izzy dreams of becoming an influencer on Instagram and throwing in the day job. Something her brother Ben pushed her to pursue before his tragic death. But becoming an influencer isn't as easy as it looks. A chance encounter within her day job in insurance leads to a fake relationship all in aid of Instagram. Faking it to make it. But what happens when Izzy becomes conflicted with their plans because of a real life love interest.

Will love win? 💕

Although light hearted I really enjoyed the levels of depth in this book with looking at guilt and how it affects relationships.

I laughed out loud so many times throughout this book, really enjoyable, wonderful characters and a great escapism read 📚

I loved this book.
It was great having an escape whilst the world is in lockdown and this book did the trick. It made me belly laugh out loud throughout the book. The characters were fantastic and most of them lovable. I loved the story and the whole feel of the book. I would recommend this book to everyone who needs a good story and a good laugh in their lives.
Utterly fantastic!

Izzy has dreams of becoming an influencer, something she confides in her brother as he selects an engagement ring for his fiancé. He tells her that she should follow her dream. However, that is the last conversation that they have. Ben sadly passes away in his sleep from an undiagnosed heart condition. Upon hearing the news Izzy rushes home but is overcome with emotion. Luckily a fellow commuter takes her under his wing and ensures that sge gets home safely.

Two years have passed since her brothers death and whilst her instagram following is slowly growing she's still working a day job in insurance to pay the bills. A chance Interaction with a colleague leads to a fake romance - because you can't believe everything you see on Instagram. The plan being to date for a while and then break up once they had increased their followings and had brand sign ups.

Bumping into the helpful commuter, Aidan, puts Izzy into a spin. Not only is she grateful for him helping her but she finds herself falling in love despite being very much happy to be single. Is it possible to have a fake life on social media and a different real life?

This was a slightly predictable but still very enjoyable rom-com of a book. It may not be the most original story, but it's written well and is an easy read that keeps the pages turning. A great bit of lockdown escapism.

DNF at 22%. I normally love books by Anna Bell but I couldn’t bring myself to care about Instagram obsessed characters. They were just so vacuous, even by chick lit standards. Anna Bell is normally an auto buy for me so I should have read the blurb more carefully before requesting on netgalley - I don’t like the whole fake aspect of social media so that’s probably why this book doesn’t appeal. I really hope the main character matures over the course of the book and starts to care less about how many followers she has etc, but I don’t want to waste my time reading on to find out. Not for me.

We Just Clicked tells the story of Instagrammer Izzy forming a fake relationship with a fellow Instagrammer from work in a bid to become an influencer. There is of course more to this book but I know a synopsis is widely available.

Initially I enjoyed this book and raced through it but for me I didn’t care for the way that the plot developed. I love the fake dating trope and I didn’t have an issue with that or even the fact that the fake relationship was to their followers, but I lost interest when the deceit was upped a level and I almost dreaded finishing the book as I could see what was going to happen.

I don’t want to ruin the story or put anyone off as I enjoyed the first half of the book and it was well written, but by the end of it I just wasn’t bothered or invested in any of the characters or relationships and I was glad to have finished it.

I’ve enjoyed other books by Anna Bell and I will definitely read more by her, but this one ended up leaving me with very mixed feelings.

Many thanks to HQ and NetGalley for providing an advanced copy in exchange for an honest review.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book and would recommend is wholeheartedly!
Anna Bell manages to convey the depths of sadness and mix it with pure joy and a healthy dollop of humour! We Just Clicked is the perfect result!
It’s hard not to identify with Izzy as we have all, I believe, known heartbreak on some level. Izzy swings from one clanger to the next, even though her inner voice is sending warning messages throughout her misadventures.
The two male leads, Luke and Aiden, couldn’t be more different. Luke is a shallow, vapid narcissist whilst Aiden is deep, interesting and self-deprecating.
The scenes at the Country House Hotel had me laughing out loud, both times!
Reading during the lockdown has been a lifeline and this book was pure joy.
Read it, you’ll be glad that you did.

A sincere thank you to the publisher, author and Netgalley for providing me with an ebook copy of this book in exchange for a fair and honest review.

This is not my usual genre, I’m more into crime/thriller books and even psychological thrillers too so I am extremely pleased and grateful to them for opening up my mind to something totally different.

I enjoyed this very much. 4 stars 🌟🌟🌟🌟

Izzy's developing her Instagram following. Maybe she lies a little every now and then. But everyone does it, don't they? Filters, hashtags - it's no big deal. Until it is...

I'll be honest, I don't use Instagram myself, but I know a bit about influencers. I'm sure it's a gross generalisation, but I have no difficulty believing the view of this book, that influencers are almost all lying to one degree or another. While I don't believe it's anything like as involved as Izzy and Luke, I easily believe that people spend time getting the 'right' shot, the 'perfect' filter.

I enjoyed the story very much. I like that we weren't sure about Luke until quite late; no one is perfectly good or perfectly bad and it's nice to see that reflected here. Aidan, on the other hand, is too good to be real. I did love the easy, banter-filled relationship that developed between him and Izzy, though. Love me some banter!

This book had some genuine, real things to say and I'm glad I got a chance to read it.

I sped through this book!

Izzy suffers some family trauma when her brother dies unexpectedly. She reflects on their last conversation together, where she confided in him about her desire to become an Instagram influencer. He told her he was proud and to go for her dream. So that’s what Izzy plans to do. Her colleague Luke has a similar dream and has a plan to help them both... but will Aidan, her chance to love again, be put on hold because of it? And how can she possibly choose?

This book was well developed, while staying as a simple and easy read. I loved Aidan as soon as he was introduced so I personally thought Izzy had an easy decision, but could also understand her point of view, and this made for an interesting read!

It’s a perfect summer read, and a distraction.

I liked the premise of this book, it felt like a very modern version of a light romantic novel. I loved the focus on influencers and faking relationships. Again I liked the emphasis on grief but that the novel retained it's lightness. I thought the emphasis on the other romance took away from things slightly (it felt a little bit unnecessary and cliché - took away from it's uniqueness a little bit. Overall an enjoyable read.

A really enjoyable book with a mix of funny and heartbreaking moments. Anna Bell creates a good, flawed and sometimes frustrating main character in Izzy and some really good supporting characters as well. Well worth a read.

Good, but this plot regarding getting too caught up in Instagram life has been done before. Also, Bell is quite samey in that her plots invariably have a couple who split up because of something the female has done, the male won't listen to her, and then after some time apart and much grovelling on her behalf, he forgives her. I liked Aidan up to a certain point but he could have listened to Izzy earlier than he did. I also didn't think Luke was quite the villain he was made out to be towards the end of the novel. The way Bell wrote his character showed some nicer elements and I even thought at one point that Izzy would get together with him for real. Nice, realistic supporting characters (including a dog). Many humorous moments. The back story regarding Izzie's brother added a more serious note, and I thought this was written well. This is a good read all in all.

Izzy wants to make it as an Instagrammer, so when Luke suggests fake dating to get more interest in their profiles she agrees. But then she meets Aiden - he was there for her on one of the worst days of her life, and she is glad to have the chance to thank him for that. As she starts to fall for him, will she realise that real life is better than the fake online one she has?

Sometimes you feel like yelling at Izzy for how she is treating Izzy, but still feel sorry for her when everything falls apart.

A good read, which highlights how social media is not always a good thing to have in our lives.
