I didn't hate this, but I also didn't love it. This series seems to be a miss for me as was the previous series before this. I love Pepper's writing but maybe I've outgrown her. I still greatly appreciate receiving an arc of this book, and will keep my eye out for her next series in hopes that it will be the one to bring me back.

And the complicated, twisted story continues! I wasn't sure how I was going to feel going into this book, especially after that humdinger of a cliffhanger from book 1 (man, I sound every bit of 86 saying "humdinger"). But at the same time, I wanted to know where the story would take me next; would it leave me feeling uncomfortable yet enthralled and slightly on edge wanting to know what's going to happen?

Yes. Yes this did. And I devoured every word (which might be why I slightly resemble The Walking Dead right about now).

If there is one thing Pepper Winters knows how to do, it's create characters that you want to embrace, shake within an inch of their fictional lives and run screaming from all at the same time; she knows how to draw you into the characters' worlds, minds, thoughts and emotions; the push and pull, the back and forth of it all.

5 ‘Sinner’ STARS!!!!!

Dark Romance.
Book 2 of 5 In The Goddess Isles Series.
Dual, First Person POV.

Oh My God!
After reading and obsessing over book 1, Once A Myth, in this highly and madly anticipated series, I knew I needed the next instalment. The previous cliffhanger had me thirsting for more of Sullivan ‘Sully’ and Eleanor ‘Jinx,’ and their heady, downright intoxicating chemistry. And Twice A Wish did not disappoint.

Both characters are given more and more of an insight into and they’re so well developed in just the second of five books. I’m already so in love with them both and can’t get enough.

Reading from both their points of view only makes their respective intrigues so much more potent and powerful. Painful pasts are further explored, namely Sully’s, which by the way, had my heart absolutely breaking for him it, splitting in two and gut just wrenching. And when he lets his extremely rigid and steely guard down, even if just for a moment, I fall even more for this cold, stern character, just like Eleanor does. There’s definitely a heart underneath his purposefully exuded hardness, and Eleanor Grace is the only one who can unearth it…

And Eleanor/Jinx, damn, I utterly love and revere her. She’s as brave and beautiful and defiant as ever. Her strength is so admirable and palpable that it’s all you can do to feel so much respect for her character, the things she endures and how she copes with everything around her.

Pepper’s writing just gets better and better, and is simply addictive. Like, you cannot stop reading once you flip the first page over. Addictive and purely heart-palpitating. From beyond enthralling descriptions to intensity-brimful scenes and dialogue between the characters, Winters’ work is mastery. And this series already is a masterpiece.

Oh, and that ending? Well, book 3 being needed is an understatement of epic proportions because…JUST WOW!

ARC received in exchange for an honest review.
All opinions are my own.

After the way Once a Myth ended, I couldn’t wait to get my hands on this second installment. While I’m left with even more questions, Pepper Winters definitely didn’t disappoint. This virtual reality that Sully has created has me questioning everything that has occurred. My gut tells me that things just aren’t quite what they seem. I loved that we got a little more background on Sully in this book. It’s easier to understand why he is the way he is. Eleanor is so conflicted this installment. She’s in a constant battle with her mind and her body. I admire her for the way she handled each situation she was put into whether it was within her control or not. What she did at the end of the story however, has me quite interested in what is going to happen next.

'TWICE A WISH' is the second full length dark romance book in Pepper Winter's 'Goddess Isles' series. It picks up where the second book left off. Spoken in 'dual perspectives.'

I CrAzY LoVeD the first book, the cliffy was brutal, the storyline was addictive, hot, raw and dark!! So once this landed on my kindle, I couldn't wait to dive back into their world and escape the craziness that has overtaken the world so this was a welcome respite.

After inhaling this book there's only one question that remains, how is it possible that I could I love this one even more than the first!?! I got hit by the feels!! In a heartbeat I went from not liking or hero to claiming him as my own as I'm sure many more will. Not all is what it seems with our Sully.

God how I loved this book for I too feel under her captors spell. This book just gave me more, more feels, more heartbreak, more angst, more fire!! At one time during this my heart rate spiked up, my eyes couldn't read the words fast enough!! Chanting row, row row!!

And then we hit that cliffy, the next book can't come soon enough. This is where this authors true talent lies, just like tears of tess she's made us fall in love all over again with a whole new series, a spitfire heroine and a hero who hides his true self.

OMG!!! I didn't think it would be possible for the second book to be better than the first. I love the grown of Eleanor in this book. I loved her fight, for journey and her ultimate acceptance.

The ending has me absolutely floored though! I'm dying to know what happened to Sully, what will happen to Sully and most of all what on earth is going to happen to Eleanor now.

Can't wait for book 3!

Pepper Winters has the ability to amaze me with every single book. I couldn’t turn the pages fast enough.
Twice a Wish was just WOW, AMAZING and more!! I can't even begin to describe how extraordinary and addictive this book was!!! I do not want to give away anything… but know that P.W has left me wanting more. I can’t cope with the sexual tension; I can’t cope with the eroticism … but most importantly I CANNOT COPE WITH THE TWIST AND THE CLIFFHANGER!!!!! I can't wait to get hold of Third a Kiss.
I can’t even form comprehensive thoughts right now- Go and grab it!

The images Pepper Winters portrays are palpable and gripping,
creating A Virtually Real world! A tropical dreamland in all it’s dynamic vividness.

I not only felt my heartbeats but could literally hear the palpitations within me as I ravenously devoured this enthralling read! I was sucked in completely entranced while clenching my palms among other things.

The intensity of that ending left me audibly gasping! I cannot wait for what’s to come in book three!

Book two in the Goddess Isles series. After finishing book one I was wondering what will happen in that story - and my mind was BLANK. I had no idea what Ms. Winters has in her mind for us on this trip.
I won't go into ANY plot details as it could possibly spoil the story for the reader so I will stick only to my emotions - and here I come to the conclusion that this story had ignited in me A LOT of feelings. Starting with shock after book one, via angry, joy, happiness, rage, and with the last shock.
This story is addictive, and for sure it has many more layers than I had expected in book one, which leaves us with even more questions and curiosity out of this world what will happen next.
After book one Sully was not exactly my favorite person, but even when I'm still not sure about what I think of him (love or hate) I think I started warming up for him.
Eleanor is a one hella girl with so much will power, that it will make her go, but is that enough to survive what unavoidable will happen.
I can't wait for the next story as this one had made my inned dark lover even more hungry for more!

Again I promised a zero spoiler review to Pepper and it will really be challenging as the synopsis is so vague!

What to tell you?

That this is the second book of the series and starts where the cliffhanger left us and that I will end on another HUGE cliffhanger! Think something when the killer is unleashed and will pounce on his next victim well, that’s something similar.

You just NEED to hold the third book already.

I can also tell you that this book is filled with sex scenes but even if they are extremely graphic, Pepper is the only writer with Tiffany Reisz to make me love them without feeling like this is a cop out and a filler for an empty storyline.

I don’t know how she does it as most of the time now I am bored with sex scenes in books, at least very graphic sex scenes, and just want to roll my eyes and yawn but here…here, I was just “hot and bothered”. Holy Molly! You’ll need a change of pants and a cold shower!

Don’t listen to it in audio at work or I guarantee you’ll turn all flushed and have your co-workers look at you very suspiciously, wondering if you have the flu and suffer from the Covid!

You also have a total anti-hero because Sully is buying girls to sell them on his island to be “worshipped” by very wealthy men BUT of course the anti-hero has a hidden flaw. He is HUMAN after all. Even if he is terrorized of feeling some kind of warm feelings for humans.

He is devilishly handsome, commanding and he is THE BOSS of the island.

Except with Eleanor who he named Jinx because she gives as good as she gets and she will infuriate him more than once!

The chemistry is off the charts between these two and given their “status”: slaver and slave, it will give for many conflicting emotions. For Sully and for Eleonore.

That’s also a constant in this series:the turmoil, the volcano of emotions both heroes feel.

Pepper really highlighted the complexity of human nature.

One can be bad for humans yet amazing with animals.

One can loath her captor yet be attracted to him.

Last words here: I cried like a baby!

Because if there is one thing I can’t stand is cruelty towards animals. I am an animal lover through and through. I am vegan and I use products untested on animals. So, some scenes here were really, really hard to read. I am more of burying my head in the sand when some awful videos of animals suffering are broadcasted so here, you HURT me Pepper!

I am even more convinced that I did the right choice being vegan!

Now, should you read it?

Of course if you don’t mind dark and twisted stories!

We return to the story of Eleanor/Jinx and Sully.
Jinx is still fighting to stay true to herself but been on the island is messing with her mind.
When Sully gets a phone call that suddenly alters things between him & Jinx.
A last act of desperation from Eleanor leaves us desperate for book 3 "Third a kiss

One man’s fantasy is one goddess’s nightmare, at least until she’s consumed by lust and passion, no matter how she ends up in that state of constant need.

One man’s island of pleasure is one captive’s impenetrable cage, regardless of the escape that both seem to feel while they’re there together.

But the men who arrive Goddess Isle do so by choice, do so for a singular purpose, and once they’ve had their fill, they are free to leave, free to do what they want, free to live their lives on their terms, not someone else’s.

That’s not the case for Sully Sinclair’s goddesses…they are a commodity…they are his to use, to give clients’ pleasure, to play a role where they’re the puppets and he’s their puppet-master. And his goddesses are not on that island because they want to be…they are bought, controlled, and used for other people’s needs.

But Eleanor Grace, Jinx, is not like Sully’s other women, which is a blessing and a curse for both of them, and as her time on the island continues, they both are tormented by their chemistry…by their connection…by their need. But that’s not how Sully’s supposed to act toward one of his captives, and because he feels so out of sorts, the decisions he makes and the actions he takes make things on that island so far from black and white that there’s no telling where they will end up.

Like all of Pepper Winters’ scarred, larger-than-life anti-heroes, there’s more to

him than readers are privy to throughout the course the story. And what is known, the fact that is he, perhaps, more monster than man, is only one view of who Sully truly is, which means, the more readers learn about him and his backstory, the more difficult it becomes to see him as one-dimensional as a sadistic S.O.B. who revels in magnifying pleasure for his twisted needs and those of his clients.

I’m not sure where Winters plans to take these two or who readers will be introduced to as the series continues, but what I am sure of is that the way she crafts this narrative and sends Sully and Jinx, spiraling out of control from lust and need, will either implode or become something much more complex…or maybe even both, because as I’ve learned from the many stories I’ve read from this author…nothing and no one are ever what they seem.

4.5 Poison Apples

This is the second book in the Goddess Isles series, and the continuation of Sully, and Eleanor's story. We pick right up from book one, and the twist, and turns just keep on coming, as Sully, and Eleanor continue to fight their attraction. This was another great read, the characters have panty melting chemistry, and kept me intrigued. This is hot, steamy, passionate, emotional, intense, twisted, dark, suspenseful, and dramatic. I can't wait to read book three.

This series is going to be the death of me. Again I am left wanting more. I am dying to know where Pepper is going to take this storyline. I am completely enamored with these characters and the way their story surprises me at every step of reading this. I could not put this book down. I was totally lost in this world and I am so looking forward to the next book in this series and I know it will be just as dark and raw and emotional as the last two have been. Pepper has definitely become a one-click author for me.

I'm overwhelmed and reeling with excitement after finishing Twice A Wish, Book #2 in Pepper Winters' Goddess Isles Series. I thought Book 1 was compelling, but it has nothing on Book 2! I LOVED this book even more than Book 1. Exceptionally written, the tension and emotions were all over the place. I was literally on the edge of my seat reading. I couldn't get enough of Sullivan Sinclair and Eleanor Grace! I LOVE the dual POVs and glimpses into their souls. The storyline is BEYOND captivating! You just don't know what to expect next! I really love that the characters and their feelings just melt off the pages into your heart and head, making them come to life before your eyes. I spent most, if not all, of this book feeling like I was floating above watching these people as their lives erupted into all kinds of turmoil. It was mesmerizing and oh-so-satisfying. What does this talented author have in store for these amazing characters she has created? I have no idea, and I can't wait to find out! Book 3 can't get here soon enough for me. If you have not started this amazing series yet, you NEED to! Grab it NOW! Don't miss it!

If you thought you were hooked after Once a Myth then hold on to your seat!! Everything you thought you knew about this series or where you thought Pepper Winters was going to take this series forget it! Nothing will prepare you for this series and it will take you on the ride of your life!!!! Eleanor is such an incredible character and you will be cheering her every move on, Sully is in a category of his own. Nothing can compare to this series just like nothing can compare Pepper’s ability to pull you into her stories as if you were living them yourself! A series full of unexpected twist and turns that will have you dropping to your knees begging for more!

So, I've been sitting in front of my screen for a while trying to figure out how to even start putting in writing how I feel about this book. Pepper Winters took my heart and played tackle football with it. I am wrung out, strung out, and just not even sure what planet I'm on right now. If you thought Once a Myth was intense, you are NOT prepared for Twice a Wish. It picks up right where book one left off and drops you right in the midst of heart-pounding, soul-wrenching and core-melting action. I sort of feel like I was high on elixir myself all throughout the book. Eleanor... How i love this heroine. She is everything I could want and more - such an enticing blend of strength and vulnerability, passion and indignation, love and hatred. I love how she fights, both Sully and herself. And Sully - one of the most complicated, tormented and HOT male characters ever written! In Twice a Wish we get a bit of an insight into Sully's past and what made him what he is today. This story is tragic and heartbreaking and, though I don't cry easily, I found myself tearing up at certain points. The push and pull, the back and forth, the tension, both sexual and emotional, between Eleanor and Sully is off the charts! New battle lines are drawn as the old ones disintegrate, neither of them is prepared to capitulate, while both are battling themselves even more than each other. I was enthralled, bewitched and captivated by this book. It gave me everything I could have wanted and so much more! If you love dark romance, complicated and messy characters and extreme heat, this is definitely the series for you!

•••Big thanks to Pepper Winters for giving me an ARC of this book via The Next Step PR in exchange of an honest review. And sorry for the delay, due to internet issues I didn't reviewed this book as soon as I read it.•••

I really loved all the elements in this book. (Especially the dark ones; the cage scenes were simply flawles!) Like book one, it’s prose is exceptional and the transitions between scenes are perfect. The end? It’s open —you have to remember that this is a series with three more books in it— and unexpected. Boy, I’m dying to read what will come next for Eleanor and Sullivan! And expecting more darkness, for sure. Now I can give it the rating it deserves.

When I ended „Once a Myth” I needed more Pepper Winters. Fortunately the second book from „Goddess Isles” series was on my Kindle and I jump to the continuation of Eleanor's and Sully's story.
Again.
I am obsessed!

The life on the island are pretty good, but Eleanor needs to do her job. She was bought by Sully in a one goal – to give a pleasure. So between conversations with other goddesses and thinking how to leave the island, she mets the first man in her new life.
But day by day everything changed.
She has a big impact on Sully's heart.
Will she finally break him?
Will she finally knows the truth about him?

„Twice a Wish” is more hotter than „Once a Myth”. Pepper Winters gives us a really good tension in this book. Lust between Sully and Eleanor smashed me, when I was reading this story.
And the first kiss scene? OMG. I don't need more sex scene. I only need the kiss scene like in this book. It is everything!

Again Sully had my heart. In this book his real nature is showed. His real thoughts, his childhood, his plans. We can see his heart like on the hand.
Eleanor is more stronger in „Twice a Wish” that in previous book. Is any chance that she will be more stronger in the next book? Because in the end of this series she will be like a queen. Strong, brave and unyielding queen.

Why we must wait two months for the third book? Why we must suffer so much time?
„Twice a Wish” is a perfect continuation of „Once a Myth”. This plot is a one big suprise and this ending? What's next Miss Winters? I must to know it now!

In the end you must read this book. Of course start with „Once a Myth” this adventure, but YOU MUST READ GODDESS ISLES series.
