🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

Twice A Wish is the second book of the Goddess Isles series and it picks up exactly where book 1, Once A Myth left off. If you haven’t read the first, 1-click it NOW, you won’t be disappointed!! The first in the series touched so many emotions I never thought a book could bring out of me, yet the second had me feeling so many more! My emotions are so raw and all over the place after Twice A Wish.

At times I thought I could hate Sullivan, yet another punchline hits and makes me feel so much empathy towards this strange man. Then Eleanor with the strength that she wields against such a strong man or anyone who comes in her path.

I was so excited when this hit my kindle I couldn’t start reading it fast enough. It was such a push and pull of a tether on my emotions, yet when I got to the end I was dying to read the next one! This series is my first to dive into Pepper Winters and the magic she holds within her mind. Can’t wait to read Third A Kiss! Authors like these are why I absolutely love to read and review whether it’s an ARC or one I’ve purchased!

*An ARC was provided in exchange for my honest review! Thank you Pepper Winters and The Next Step PR!

Twice a Wish is the second book in the Goddess Isles series by Pepper Winters. You can NOT read this as a standalone. You must read Once a Myth first. And believe me, you will want to read this series. I can’t really say much about it without any spoilers so...

It starts where Once a Myth ended. Haha! I should totally stop here. I seriously can’t get into the storyline but I will say that it’s addictive, raw, dark, and powerful. The characters and story are intense. Sullivan is in a battle with himself. Eleanor isn’t helping the battle within. They are both lost. In ruins.

Wow. That was definitely one of my shortest reviews ever. And if you follow me, you know it too.

Quotes:

“I remember, Cal. And I also remember being the fucking boss around here.”

“I could never like you, Eleanor Grace, because you could never be an animal.”

Another amazing book by Pepper Winters! This is the second book in a standalone series. She alludes to some other characters from previous series which thrills us readers who have followed her.

Pepper Winters writes well with storylines that keep me intrigued and characters that evoke all kinds of emotions...love, hate, anxiety, joy, respect, confusion, fear, and hope.

Eleanor is so brave. My respect for her has grown. Sully is confused, but may show a human side. Both are strong. The cliffhanger wasn't as brutal, but I so need to know what is going to happen!!

*I received an ARC of this book through NetGalley. It was so good, I bought my own ecopy!

Twice a Wish, the continuation of Once a Myth, is equally disturbing and intensely wicked. And even though some parts had my stomach churning, I'd be lying if I said I wasn't enthralled by this nefarious tale. Just like the first book, this ends in a massive cliffhanger, and I'm just SO confused with everything that's going on.

Twice a Wish gives us more backstory on the villainous Sully. I appreciate the context, although I don't buy for one second that he deserves sympathy for it.

Eleanor keeps being a badass, although drowning ever so deeper into her Stockholm Syndrome.

I do have to praise Pepper Winter's writing skills. So far, I would never consider this a romance, but more of a dystopian erotic sci-fi/suspense hybrid? Either way, she has a way of creating a mood that is equal parts exotic as it's claustrophobic.

I guess the allure here is that I have no idea where the story will take us. In my mind, there are no possible scenarios that could ever redeem Sully, so again, I have no clue what the endgame is.

The only thing that I'm certain is that the only happy ending here is for Sully and Eleanor to not end up together... That would be too much for my poor heart.

I also didn't need the detailed sex scenes in Euphoria. I keep trying to rationalize that this might be a gimmick, maybe it's a VR thing that only happens in their mind, and not physically. That would still be bad because emotional abuse it's still a thing, but definitely better than the alternative. So, even though I appreciate steamy scenes like the next person, I had to skim through those, they were just too vile to read about.

I don't care that you have a drug that makes women "ask for it" if they beg you not to drug them that's still textbook abuse.

So that's my predicament. I have so many issues with this story - BUT, that's the purpose of this whole series I guess, to be dark and press your buttons. Should I be mad at a book that accomplished what it set out to do? Also, the mysterious storylines and cliffhangers definitely spiked my curiosity.

So, my confused brain and I will wait patiently (sorta) for the next book. #sendhelp

I voluntarily read and reviewed an ARC of this book. This is the second book in the series and MUST be read in order as this book picks up right where the first one ended. This book also leaves you with another huge cliffhanger.
This series is a dark taboo romance and so smokin hawt it will have your Kindle melting.
Eleanor has her first taste of Euphoria and has officially become one of the goddesses.
Sully is still trying to figure out why she has such an effect on him.
I can't wait for the next book. I need it now! 5+⭐

WOW. I am totally at a loss for words! I am so wound up in this diabolical series. Sully, the harem master, buys stolen beautiful women to make men's fantasies come true and to add to his bankroll. Eleanor, aka Jinx, sold to Sully and becomes his most rebellious goddess. There is a fatal attraction between them that neither one wants to acknowledge. And the ending -- whoa!!! Hurry -- I need the next book NOW!

Holy. Shizballs. Somebody should call fire brigade because shit just got real. What the heck, Sully!!! Gahhhh!!!

Okay, the author owed me. Big time. She owed me a new e-reader and money for water bill. How so? Because, oh my lawd, did the fire from Sully and Eleanor's chemistry burned me right from my pages of this book. I'm not kidding. These two had this fiery, raw and powerful connection that will leave you hot and bothered. I had to stop multiple times to freshen up, because they are on fire!!!

On the other hand, I loved that we had a bit of a backstory on Sully and omg! Did this girl fall in love. If his forceful persona and devilish charm didn't do it already, it's his dark, sorrowful past that breaks my walls. I love me some dark, broody, alpha, broken hero and Sully had it on spades and more. One more thing, I can't with that ending! I literally was flipping the pages for more only to reach the end and screamed, what!!!! I need book 3 asap!!!

WHAT?? YOU CANNOT END IT THERE. NOOO. I REFUSE. *SOBS*
So, after my little sob fest, I am here to redeclare my love for the Queen of Dark. This was even more amazing than the first book and you can tell so by my rating!!
Pepper did something amazing with this book. She touched a theme that is very close to my heart. No spoilers, but she pulled at my heartstrings and made Sullivan my new cinammon roll. A very dangerous cinammon roll, but he is all mine!
So, if you loved the first book, this book will leave you gasping!! Sizzling, fast paced and utterly addictive. This book is not one to miss.
The author has this unicorn like ability to create such enthralling characters and both Sully and Eleanor spoke to my heart. Their chemistry, the push and pull quality of their relationship was mesmerising to watch. I couldn't get enough.
I am so excited to see where this is going to lead us. April 21st cannot come soon enough!!

5 GODLIKE STARS!

Sully doesn’t want to admit he likes Eleanor/Jinx but with every passing second, he can’t keep denying it to himself anymore. The inner battle in him hurts him as much as it hurts her and there is a part of this book where more than he is comfortable is revealed about him. It definitely made me see him in a different light, I shouldn’t like him but I can’t help it! He’s a dark character that I love, he is fast becoming one of my favourite heroes by Pepper Winters.

Eleanor is more defiant in this book which I was not surprised about for even a single second, it made sense that she was. She seizes a chance in this book and that chance leads her to finding out more about Sully than she bargained for. She’s warring with herself, and the inner battle that she has is very interesting to see. She is the character that I’m interested to see in terms of development. Her mindset is an intriguing place to be.

Pepper Winters never fails to hook me into her story. I remember starting to read this book and wanting to read as slowly as possible so it didn’t have to end. I love dark reads and this book doesn’t disappoint me at all. I was captivated from the first word to the very last one in this book. There’s twists and turns and I didn’t see the ending coming at all. I was not surprised by one thing that happened in this book because it was inevitable but at the same time I was kind of cheering for it because it makes the story that much more interesting. For all those who are on the fence about this series, please read Once A Myth and you will be so drawn in, I cannot stop thinking about these books, and I’m now impatiently waiting for Third a Kiss. Pick up Once A Myth and enjoy!

4.5 stars--TWICE A WISH is the second instalment in Pepper Winters’ contemporary, adult GODDESS ISLES dark, erotic romance series focusing on billionaire Sullivan Sinclair, and his captive Eleanor ‘Jinx’ Grace. The GODDESS ISLES series is set in the same world as the author’s MONSTERS IN THE DARK and the INDEBTED series. TWICE A WISH should not be read as a stand alone as it picks up immediately after the events and cliff hanger of book one ONCE A MYTH.

WARNING: Due to the nature and dark content of the story line premise, there may be some triggers for more sensitive readers.

SOME BACKGROUND: At twenty-one years old, Eleanor Grace was kidnapped, violated and drugged on her way to becoming a sexual slave. A prisoner in a gilded cage, Eleanor, along with several other girls, are either the willing sexual partner in a fantasy island paradise, or find themselves forced into a lifetime of suffering and pain. Purchased by billionaire Sullivan Sinclair, Eleanor is defiant to the end but a defiance that will come with a price. Four years a slave, Eleanor is about to discover that all is not well on the island paradise or with the man who now dominates and governs every aspect of her life.

Told from dual first person perspectives (Sullivan and Eleanor) TWICE A WISH focuses on the continuing turmoil that has become Eleanor Grace’s life. Billionaire and pharmaceutical magnet Sullivan Sinclair owns several islands in the south Pacific but his goddesses, as he likes to call his sexual slaves, live, work and reside on the Goddess Isles. Owning and operating a fantasy island for the uber rich, Sullivan Sinclair ‘procures’ his goddesses through kidnapping and sexual slavery, and in doing so he believes the women he ‘rescues’ are nothing more than prisoners in a gilded cage but Eleanor Grace draws Sullivan Sinclair like a moth to a flame, a flame that is not once, but twice, forced into doing what she has never done before.

TWICE A WISH reveals some of the heart breaking background and history of the man we have come to know as Sullivan Sinclair. The demons of his past drive his present, but with money and power Sinclair turns the tables in an effort to control and punish the people who represent everything wrong in his life.

A dark, gritty, raw and intense read TWICE A WISH, like many of Pepper’s previous releases follows a Stockholm Syndrome premise wherein our heroine will quickly fall for her captor, a man who may be more damaged than anyone could have imagined. The premise is controversial, creative and dramatic; the characters are broken but strong, tragic and colorful; the romance is mired by dubious consent, slavery, ownership and unnatural lust.

Omg!! This series is Deep and Dark and I love it. Pepper never fails to plunge me headfirst into the darkness like I am a character. Eleanor and Sully have my heart begging for more. We see some characters that hide in her other books and it's brilliant. I need Book 3 like a drug!

Picking up right where Once a Myth left off, Pepper continues to thrill and amaze the reader with this continuation of Sully and Eleanor's story. Jinx is bound and determined to learn all she can about Sully, to reveal all there is under his armor.

Strap in tight, readers! Pepper takes us on a journey that is not to be rushed! Savor every page, from the decadent locale to the intense heat and passion drifting up from the pages. This story is slowly evolving and revolving, and lovers of the dark and twisted are going to eat this up.

Jinx is as stunning as ever with her determination and compassion for animals. This only adds to Sully's storm of staying away from her and their magnetic pull! Will he kick her off his island or keep her?

Twice a Wish is the second book in the Goddess Isles series and it just keeps getting better. How Pepper even created this story blows my mind. She never seems to amaze me. I’m always trying to figure it out and yet she keeps me guessing, craving for more.

“You are incomparable. I can’t stop wanting you. I want to live inside you forever.”

THIS…is how I feel after every read. AMAZING!!!!

This story is a true mind warp. It just gets better and better. I'm absolutely enamoured with Sully and Jinx. This story has kept me on the edge of my seat, my heart racing, my breathing shallow and my fingers busy..... turning pages! I bet you were thinking something else! What a concept for a story. Just wow!

The feelings are full and flagrant on this island in paradise. Sully is not who he seems, yet everything you think he is at the same time. Jinx is one strong feminine powerhouse and is giving Sully a run for his money. I can't wait to see where we go next with this hot little number! Book three cant get here quick enough!

What did I just read?! OMG I’m consumed by this series...by Pepper Winters..by Sully and Jinx. I can’t get my hands on these books fast enough!!! Thank you Pepper for writing these captivating books that just suck you in and leave you craving more🔥

OMG! Sully... can I say his epiphany regarding her was everything! I keep trying to fit Sully into a box that doesn’t fit. I love Pika. To see him treat that bird with such care, you think he has to have a heart. When he finds out about Skittles... I actually laughed out loud. It’s like the glimpses we get of his heart just confuse me. When his past is given to us, I cried. It made so much make sense.

When I read about her first experience in Euphoria, I thought I knew what had happened. Well, I was wrong, and now I’m mad as all heck. I also don’t know how I feel about Roy. These men that pay so much for these experiences... I don’t want to like them, but I felt bad for Roy. I also don’t know what I feel about Calvin. He is one of those characters that I could be lulled into a false sense of security about him.

I just can’t wait to see what comes next. It feels like torture because I just want to know now. This book ended in a way that I can’t even guess what’s coming next. I do know that this author is amazing. Regardless of the genre whatever she writes is magic to me.

The books in this series cannot release soon enough for this girl. These books are dark and deliciously wonderful. I got some answers but have a bunch of new questions about Sully and Jinx, still wondering what is reality what is not and where on earth is this all going. I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book provided by NetGalley for an honest review.
