I rarely read chic-lit but when I do, this is what I want it to be like: warm, sexy and really quite wise. I enjoyed the complicated relationships between the female friends as well as with the men in their lives, and the arc of Connie who isn't even aware how much growing up she needs to do in those early years of marriage. Some the hard-drinking/constant hangover background reminds us of how times have changed from the Cool Britannia 1990s, and it was fun to relive memories. The ending may be cheesy but it's satisfying too.
