I was blown away by this book. Honestly I did not think there was any chance he could top his last book Thirteen which was amazing but this one has blown it out the water. In this story we meet two sisters both have been arrested for murdering their father. One of them did it but the question is what one and as the two team set up their cases and the bodies start piling up the question is which of the convincing sisters is actually pure evil? I loved the twists and turns of this novel as we read the inside thoughts of the actually murder but which sister is she and are any of the defence team safe?

No one can ever write and plot a courtroom drama like Steve. A must read. Highly recommended.
This is another masterpiece courtroom drama from the writer of Thirteen. I don't reveal the plot here just want to tell that it's a story about two sisters, Sofia and Alexandera. They both accuse each other of murder but someone is lying. This story is not simple as it seems.
I'm saying honestly that I was blown away.
Thanks to NetGalley and Orion Publishing Group for giving me an advance copy of such amazing courtroom drama.

Wow, this guy can write! The plot sizzles, there is excitement on almost every page, the characters are credible and sympathetically drawn, the trial is dramatically described and there is an almighty twist at the end.

What more can you ask for from a thriller? Eddie Flynn is a marvellous character and I will now be going back to read all the previous books in this gloriously entertaining series.

Bravo!!

Huge fan of Steve Cavanagh and teh Eddie Flynn series. One of the great series an characters in the last decade for me, and one that I'll buy without even reading the blurb. This one sees Eddie representing one of two sisters, both accused of murder, both blaming the other. Some superb moments of tension and gathers pace towards a fairly explosive end. Great read!

I'm a huge fan of Steve's Eddie Flynn series! His ability to create a plotline filled with suspense, courtroom drama and tension is flawless - he writes so vividly without sacrificing the time spent on his characters. I loved Fifty-fifty, I'm sure that this is the best in series yet. I was drawn in immediately and I loved the introduction of take no bull Kate. I was gripped and read the whole book on one day (silver lining of quarantine?) Steve's writing is superb, spectacular and gripping,

Fifty Fifty by Steve Cavanagh....
I give this book 5 out of 5 stars 🌟...

Two sisters on trial for the murder of their father. They accuse each other. One of them is a liar and a killer. Who do YOU believe?

Another 5 star read from Steve Cavanagh!! I buddy read this with @ramblybookworm and we both got through it so quickly as we just HAD to know which sister had done it 😱! The book was so well written that I could not fathom who the guilty sister was. It was written from many POVs including the murderer named as just ‘she’ who was brutal and gruesome in her descriptions. It had me unsure all the way through until the big twist at the end and I absolutely loved the thrilling ride it took me on 🙌🏻.

This is the fifth book in the Eddie Flynn series (our favourite con man turned lawyer) but can be read as a stand-alone as there are not many references to his past.

If you don’t read another book this year and you like legal thrillers then you must read this one , it’s that good. I love Steve Cavanagh’s Eddie Flynn series and I must say they keep getting better and better. I was enjoying this one so much that I had to ration my reading lest I finished it too quickly. It certainly kept me entertained at a dark time when we have all been confined to home. Thank goodness for such a wonderful book which transported and engaged me.
In this outing Eddie is tasked with defending Sofia Avellino who along with her sister, Alexandra, has been accused of brutally murdering their father. There is an equal amount of evidence against each sister so that no one knows who really did it including Eddie, the reader or even the jury in the trial.
Alexandra is defended by another firm and we get to know Kate Brookes, a young defence lawyer who is just starting out.
Neither Eddie, nor Kate truly know if their sister is a murderer or completely innocent which definitely adds to the tension.
Mr Cavanagh also tells the story from the point of view of the wicked sister who in fact turns out to be a serial killer, probably having murdered her own mother many years previously as well as other witnesses in the current trial. Moreover in the book she is referred to as “She” so it is impossible to work out who “she” is! I kept changing my mind during the course of the story. There are so many twists and turns it’s just impossible to know who is the evil sister and who is the normal one.
This is such a good read and so cleverly written. I loved catching up,with a Eddie again and getting to know Kate Brooks. The author really brings these characters to life.
Fifty Fifty is an amazing read and the title is very cleverly woven into the fabric of the book, even appearing in a different way in the last few pages!
This is definitely a five star read and comes highly recommended. As legal thrillers go it’s right at the top of the pile!
Thanks to NetGalley and the publishers for my arc in exchange for an honest review.

What a thrill of a thriller! Mr C has done it again. Thirteen is my favourite legal thriller and I'm not usually a huge fan of this genre. He's got me into it though and this book is no exception. It reminded me of the case of the Menendez brothers for the nature of the case and the case here is just as compelling if not more so. I didn't guess the ending at all. Which sister killed their father , a former mayor? This is a HUGE case.

I realise calling a novel a rollercoaster of a read seems a cliche but this is a great way to describe the ups and downs, moments of stomach in throat moments, twists and turns.

Mr C -you got me fascinated by legal thrillers and thanks again for a great read.

* spoiler alert ** You can't really go wrong with Eddie Flynn/ Steve Cavanagh.. he keeps you guessing the whole way through.
Two sisters each accusing the other of murdering their father.
Evidence points to both.
The added narration from the killer, that reveals no identity, but drops hints, that you are then looking out for in the story.
Right to the end I was being swayed on who I knew did it.

Some good extra storylines, mostly involving Kate ,that sets us up nicely to wonder what's happening next for Eddie.

Very enjoyable.

Steve Cavanagh is one of my favourite writers of all time so I was honoured (and blessed) to get my hands on an early copy of his latest offering to review. Even better, "Fifty Fifty" is an Eddie Flynn book. Waaaaaaaah! This is an extremely well-plotted and written book. The tension in some scenes is almost unbearable. In reference to Cavanagh's body of work, "Fifty Fifty" is the most breathtakingly brilliant of them all. A surefire humongous hit!

This was a wonderful and thrilling novel with characters that draw you right in and don’t let go. The storyline flowed seamlessly and kept me glued to the pages. The writer topped the success of his previous novel, “Thirteen”.
