Woah what a book. Kept me reading all night. Twists, turns and secrets that keeps you gripped. Don’t trust your best friend.

Not a bad book , it was a steady burner and kept you interested. Not enough suspense for me having said that . It was ok but nothing stood out as being better than the rest of the books on the market at the moment. Worth a read though

This has been a gripping and enjoyable read which has been impossible to put down.
I have loved this book and all the twists and turns. There is no way I could’ve predicted what was happening in this one

Thanks to Netgalley for the preview of this book. I am a fan of Hamilton's previous book & this one was no different. The book will take you on rollercoaster ride. You will go from rooting for Marie to dispising her. I cannot wait for more from Hamilton

Karen Hamilton has a flowing writing style which kept me engaged throughout.

When Marie's best friend, Nina, passes away, she makes a promise to look after her husband Stuart and her children, Felix and Emily. it isn't long before she is also taking Nina's place in Stuart';s bed and becomes pregnant with his child. Moving on with her new family isn't as easy as she'd hoped. There are gradual revelations about the death of Marie's ex boyfriend Charlie and how Nina and her friend, Camilla were involved. There is also the mystery of who's behind the sinister notes, which keep the reader guessing. throughout.

I thought the characters were well described, although Marie felt a bit callous at times. Jumping into a relationship with Stuart, so soon after losing his wife. I found it hard to identify with her.

I would recommend this book and look forward to reading more by this author.

Thank you Netgalley for the ARC.

Careful what you wish for... a definite should read

The Last Wife, what can I say.. this book is written from Marie's perspective, her best friend Nina has sadly passed away, near the end she made three promises to her...

She takes us through how her life is unfolding, sessions with her therapist and at times back to memories of years past, her former love.

Marie currently has a boyfriend, but has always wished for a loving family of her own, but to what lengths will she go to get this? She wants the family life her friend has, for herself, but looks can be deceiving, all is not always as it appears.

On Marie's quest to find out what happened to her past love, it turns out many people, who she did not expect are holding secrets, that are beginning to come to light. Oh what a tangled web of lies we weave 🕸

Knowing what to write without giving away any spoilers on this book 🤔 To be honest the cover wouldn't draw me in, but as they say you should never judge a book by its cover. A definite should read ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

This was a wonderful novel with characters that draw you right in and don’t let go. The storyline flowed seamlessly and kept me glued to the pages. Even better than the “Perfect Girlfriend”, the previous novel by this talented writer.

Karen is the mistress of psychological thrillers. A must read.
Nina and Marie were best friends-until Nina was diagnosed with a terminal illness. Before she died, Nina asked Marie to fulfill her final wishes. But her mistake was in thinking Marie was someone she could trust.
This novel explors the darkest side of a wife. A web of lies and life's on stake.
Karen did a wonderful job in creating such strong women characters. Her narration doesn't need any review, flawless narration.
Thanks to NetGalley and Headline for giving me an advance copy of this wonderful psychological thriller.
