Ok, so I'm a bit behind on this review, but hoping to start the next wave of love for this wonderful middle grade novel. To be fair, I will automatically choose any book about witches, but not all books live up to the promise. This one surely did. And what's better than discovering you're a witch? Finding out you're not the only one. A perfect tale of friendship, magic, and a little bit of danger.

The Witches of Willow Cove by Josh Roberts was such a cute read! I read it around Halloween and thought the vibes were perfect! I thought Abby and Robby's friendship was well done and the story had a magical quality right from the start. I was drawn in immediately and I loved how Abby and the others discovered their magic.
Thank you to NetGalley for the arc!

The Witches of Willow Cove is the perfect spooky season book about a group of young teenagers who are witches in a small town. This story is cute but really does read for young readers, like middle school, which isn't exactly my cup of tea. But in this case, makes sense since it's the setting of the book. Lots of middle school drama and issues that this 32 year old could not relate to. If you could get passed that and wants a cute coming of age witchy story, pick this up!

I thought that this was a quick and easy read and I enjoyed getting to know the mystery of the witches and why Miss Winter's has returned. My favourite part about this book was the friendship not only between the witches but between Abby and her lifelong friend.

I really want to start reading more middle grade and this was a really good introduction into the genre.

DNF'd.

I tried this book and was unable to get past the first chapter. It read like young Middle grade, so I expect kids may enjoy it but not adults who read that age range for their own pleasure.

This was pretty good! I really enjoyed following Abby to find out she`s a witch and the story was packed with funny things, actions and wierdness.

A fun witchy middle grade read that will definitely appeal to any Sabrina fans, both old and new. It took me a little while to get into this, but the book itself was enjoyable.

I really loved this book! It was very appealing and entertaining. The characters were very well-crafted and, once I started it, I couldn't put it down.

Great thanks to Owl Hollow Pages and Netgalley for the eARC of this book. Abby Shepherd and Robby O’Reilly have just turned thirteen, and are wrestling with ordinary dilemmas (friendships, bullies, and romantic feelings) as well as less usual ones (a centuries-old mystery connected to the Massachusetts witch trials and Abby’s discovery that she’s actually a witch). Teenagers, crushes, jealousy, pranks, rivalries, and mean girls – just another day of middle school. But wait if that is not good enough for you… Let’s add a witch’s coven and some mysteriously dark town history and you start to get a picture of Willow Cove. this story will captivate readers and keep them cheering as Abby and her friends work to solve the mystery that's been haunting Willow Cove for centuries.

This book wastes no time. In the very first chapter we see magic for the first time and meet our antagonist, well before we know anything about the characters or the world they live in. IT sets a fast paced, action oriented tone. We are given a constant flow of new information that constantly shifts our understanding of what is going on.

A cute story about witchcraft that I really wanted to like... however I couldn't get into the story as I found the main characters choices to be too random. I'm sure that a reader in the age group that this book was intended for would like it more.

This book was such a fun read! I love anything involving Salem and the Witchcraft trials, so this appealed to me straight away. It reminded me a little bit of The Craft but for a younger audience, with a sprinkle of Harry Potter; lots of charms, spells and riding broomsticks. If I had to sum up The Witches of Willow Cove in three words, they would be - exciting, mysterious, funny. I will definitely look out for more books by Josh Roberts.

I did not finish this book. It started off strong, but then became distracting. Some of the behavior seemed inauthentic for middle school students. I could not get around some of the character's actions.

I apologise I did not get to this one. I did however purchase and finished copy and will review on Goodreads as soon as I complete.

This was such a magical middle-grade read, I absolutely loved it. Once I got into the story I couldn't stop reading, I wanted to see what adventures the characters were going to go on next. This had so much magic, danger, and above all, a great friendship group that went through their ups and downs but ultimately came together in the end. I love how there was such a mix of characters including some that had magic and some that did not but they were still able to help out their friends. This story was very heartwarming and I loved all of the history tied to it also.

This is a perfect spooky middle-grade read for Halloween time and I'm very excited to continue on with the series.

*Thanks so much to Owl Hollow Press for the complimentary copy for my honest review!*

A book about mysteries, friendships, bullies, rivalries, and of course, magic, this was a fast-paced read that kept my eyes glued to the page until the very end.

The beginning felt a bit slow but after a while, I really starting to get into it and it even got a bit darker than I was expecting.
I laughed, smiled, gasped and felt sad at one point or another, which is great to see in a middle-grade book.
Overall, a well achieved and cosy-felling book.

It’s not easy being a teenage witch. Seventh grader Abby Shepherd is just getting the hang of it when weird stuff starts happening all around her hometown of Willow Cove. Green slime bubbling to life in science class. Giant snakes slithering around the middle school gym. Her best friend suddenly keeping secrets and telling lies.
