Snow Country Lane is the second in a series with prosecutor Tim Andrews who is married to heiress, billionaire and all round lovely person Daniela St. Clair. The couple, along with best friends, are on vacation at Daniela's home in Schweitzer Mountain Ski Resort. When they witness the abduction of a four-year old girl Tim and his friend give chase. The kidnapper lets the girl fall off his snowmobile to evade capture - and gets away. When Tim notices the girl was rendered unconscious with chloroform and sticky rainbow tape over her mouth he links it back to another case where twin boys of a similar age were dumped at a hospital only to later die. They had been abducted, raped and left for dead - but also had the same tape on their skin. The action really takes off from this point onwards. No spoilers from me. But Vail deftly weaves and exciting thriller in a gorgeous location with vulnerable kids at the heart of it. The plot ramps up when we discover abuse of powers goes all the way to the top of those holidaying in this exclusive moneyed ski resort. The writer has done an excellent job of highlighting a problem that is happening everyday. I salute her for this fabulous thriller and for this very timely read.

I hadn’t been aware this was the 2nd book in a series or I wouldn’t have selected it. But luckily it worked well as a stand alone. The book was great to read. It was action packed. It was fast paced and exciting. You almost feel your right there with them at the centre of the mystery.

This book was a great read because it satisfied all the senses for a mystery/thriller. It was fast-paced, kept you guessing and the characters were great! I didn't realize that this book was the second in a series, and although I like to read them in order, it was easy to follow and I was still able to enjoy the characters and story without having read the first book.

Thank you so much BooksGoSocial & NetGalley for my complimentary eARC of this book in exchange for my honest review.

When I started reading this book, I hadn't realised that it was book 2 in a series about Tim McAndrew. But actually it didn't matter. It stood alone well and the author drew out the character of Tim so that his background was well explained. And that of Daniela too.
In this novel the suspense is well carried forward. Just how many children have been abducted? and what for? Your suspicions are well founded when the twin boys are dropped off outside the hospital's doors. But who is doing this? And why? And why doesn't the profile, the FBI have drawn up seem to apply?
Profiling is an art as well as a science it seems and Tim understands both even though he hasn't yet been formally trained and his emotions are well expressed.
I was invested in the kidnappings and the chases and whether the children would be safe and whether Tim would catch his man. The writing was concise and well expressed and kept you wondering. As the reader you knew of some of the story that Tim didn't but not enough to guess who the real villains were - but I did have suspicions which proved correct.

This riveting action filled tale is filled with misdirections, plot twists, and red herrings as well as well developed characters who are searching for the villains involved in designer child trafficking. The main characters are with the FBI and not only need to find out who, but why. That's about all I know to say without going into spoilers. A very intense read!
I requested and received a free ebook copy from Books Go Social via NetGalley.

Snow Country Lane by Sarah Vail There is a lot of action and well-developed characters in a beautifully depicted setting. The horrors of human trafficking and exploitation of children are forefront. Sometimes the action seems too much but all the twists and turns come to a satisfying conclusion . Medical experiments, unethical media activities, jealous women, swoon worthy men, the FBI, friends, lovers, the entitled wealthy, crooked politicians/lawyers and some extremely vile criminals are included in the mix.
Will definitely be looking for the first book in the series, Tim, Dani and friends have an interesting back story.

Thank you to the publisher, author, and NetGalley for the opportunity to preview the book.

The writing is good, with great characters, and the storytelling is also OK, but there's too much of it. The descriptions are massiv for a rather weak plot.
