This book cheered me up no end with the chilly, wet and windy weather.
I loved the setting and I could almost feel the sand between my toes with the lovely writing.
I thought it was written sympathetically with certain subjects in the storyline.
Just lovely 😍

Always a treat to return to Everdene and the beach huts, and this was no exception.

This is just an all around lovely and joyous book, sure to bring a smile to your face.

I loved Robyn and Jakes story, but even more so I loved Emily's story, I was hooked on finding out just what happened next to her, and love how it was all resolved.

There is such a great family feeling to this book, as many of the Jake and Robyn's family's make big decisions, or change directions in life, and they all seemed so supportive of each other.

It was a real pleasure to read this lovely book, written with Veronica Henry's normal warmth and skill.

Thank you to Orion and Netgalley for this copy which I reviewed honestly and voluntarily.

A great romantic story set at the beach. Rolling tides, soft sand and romance. What more do you want and expect from Veronica Henry and her magical way in which she whisks you off to the relaxing seaside. You'll have to read the book to see what awaits the couple in this brilliantly good read.

I haven't read a VH book in way too long so scoured through my Kindle as I knew I had some unread ones and started this little gem. I have read the other Beach Hut Books and loved them all so was really hoping that this would be just as good. Thankfully it was all that and more!

Robyn and Jake are excited at their upcoming wedding and are busy planning for the big day. However, Robyn has to unravel the secrets of her past without upsetting her family and she decides to ask advice from her friend Gwen (who I LOVE and I totally think should have her own book!).

All of the various family members make an appearance and elements of their own lives are revealed and interweaved within Robyn and Jake's story. This book I read in just two sittings over one day and was so dissapointed I read it so quickly.

Although there are bittersweet moments in the book this was absolutely captivating from start to finish and I absolutely loved it. I couldn't reccomend this book highly enough and think it is a must read for anyone who enjoys this genre.

A Wedding at the Beach Hut by Veronica Henry

This story follows the journey of Robyn and Jake who have a landscaping business and are having a baby but Robyn also has a journey of her own she may have to make.

Such a beautifully written poignant story with a few twists that are not expected. Many different choices are being unexpectedly made bringing many tears of laughter and sadness . A page turner from beginning to end. Very well done Veronica a book to be proud of touching many hidden subjects. An unquestionable 5/5

A really lovely book about families, love and friendship.
The book didn’t follow the storyline I was expecting (the usual: couple meet, couple fall out / have a misunderstanding, couple reunite). This book follows the lives of Robyn and Jake, who live and work together and begin to plan their wedding at the beach hut owned by Jake’s family. Planning the wedding and finding out she is pregnant prompts Robyn to open a box that has remained unopened and untouched since she was given it following her 18th birthday. Robyn has always known she was adopted and has had a wonderful upbringing with two loving parents and a younger sister. However, Robyn begins to wonder about her birth mother and what led to Robyn being adopted. Among the few items in the box is a tape recording of beautiful, and incredibly moving, piano music.
The story follows Robyn’s search for her birth mother but we also have snippets of the emotional experiences of Emily, a talented cello player, during her teenage years in the late ‘80s.
A sensitively handled subject that holds a great deal of emotion, but at times it was a little too saccharine for me. I enjoyed the book and will look out for others by the author.

I loved this book. As with all books by Veronica Henry, this was told well, was both funny and moving in places. I love the way Veronica writes. This book was definitely one of my favourites of the summer! Recommended!

Light, cheery and easy to read this is a great book for summer! Another of Henry’s novels set at the beautiful Beach Hut. Of course the pathway to the wedding doesn’t run smoothly as the bride decides to search for her adoptive parents but all ends happily. Enjoyable and recommended for summer!
(Btw a sympathetic approach by Henry as to why adoption was the best choice and fulfilling )

What a lovely book.

Robyn Moss runs a landscaping company with her boyfriend Jake. On her 18th birthday her mother gives her a box from her birth mother, Robyn already knew she was adopted so to receive this was both exciting and worrying, she doesn't want to hurt her parents, Sheila and Mick so tucks the box away.
Years later she becomes happily pregnant and thoughts of her birth mother and what she was like start to niggle her, so she opens the box to find a cassette of somebody playing the piano beautifully a photo of her as a baby and her mother and a little soft toy. Now the book opens up and we follow the story of her birth mother and father leading up to her being adopted as well as the story of Robyn and her extended family and friends.

After Jake proposes to Robyn they decide they want a quiet wedding with just their family and close friends, they chose a register office and for the reception the beach hut that Jakes dad Rocky owns. Clover, Robyn's sister takes over the outfits, her mum Sheila makes the cake and Robyn's close friend and confidant Gwen prepares to decorate the beach hut and surrounding area in Everdene.
This book was enchanting and captivating, taking me away to a seaside, with friends and family, some sadness but so much warmth and love. I loved every page.
Thank you NetGalley for the opportunity to read and review this lovely book. x

‘A Wedding At The Beach Hut’ is the latest book by Veronica Henry.

Robyn and Jake are planning their dream wedding at the family beach hut in Devon. A picnic by the turquoise waves, endless sparkling rosé and dancing barefoot on the golden sand. But Robyn is more unsettled than excited. She can’t stop thinking about the box she was given on her eighteenth birthday, and the secrets it contains. Will opening it reveal the truth about her history – and break the hearts of the people she loves most? As the big day arrives, can everyone let go of the past and step into a bright new future?

The latest book by Veronica is another heartwarming summer story that made for enjoyable reading.

Primarily seen from the perspective of Jake and Robyn, they are newly engaged after discovering that they are expecting their first child together. But what should be an exciting new for the pair, is the Robyn decides that becoming a mother is the moment when she is going to look for her birth mother. The story is also seen from the narrative of family and friends and their dramas and situations along the way.

Beautifully written, this book is a story of self discovery and finding your place in life. To know your future, you need to know your past and in this poignantly written story, we join Robyn on this journey and it makes for tender and warming reading.

I loved the characters, the dynamic between Jake and Robyn is lovely to read and it leapt off the page with their shared love for nature and being outdoors as well as the excitement and fear of becoming friends. I really enjoyed reading Robyn’s story as she ventured into her family history. One character that I particularly enjoyed was Gwen, Robyn’s older friend who was a wise and glamorous woman who always had an interesting story to tell.

A story, of love, family and relationships, this ‘The Wedding at the Beach Hut’ was a joy to read. With humour and charm this book about self discovery is the perfect uplifting summer story.

You can buy ‘A Wedding At The Beach Hut’ on Amazon and is available to buy from good bookshops.

Great to be back at the Beach. Really enjoyable read. Likeable characters and plenty of relevant subplots. The move between the past and the present is easy to follow and adds context to the story. Well written and the narrative just conjures up the beauty of the Devon coast. Highly recommended.

Thank you Netgalley.

Perfect reading for these sunny days in isolation. Veronica Henry never fails to bring a smile to your face with her perception of relationships and romance. Very happy to have read this book

The perfect summer beach read to warm the cockles of your heart. Entranced by the vivid images portrayed of an idyllic life by the sea - I was captivated and drawn into the life of Robyn and Jake who appear to love the perfect life. All is not as it seems though as we discover a past story which has led to the current day and is only just being uncovered. Completely immersed in a life of sun, sea and sand - I could imagine sitting looking out over the harbour at Gwen’s and hot chocolates in the beach hut. Would recommend for people who have always loved the sea air and the calming beach life.

A beach hut wedding? Count me there, this is me in a book, the sea, beach hut, wondrous food and families. Robyn is bursting with good news, not only has she just found out she is expecting her first baby but her boyfriend has proposed and she just wants a simple wedding, no fuss. Just something to secure their relationship. A wedding that shows who the couple are.

Yet there is something in her past that she needs to deal with first, setting out to find her birth mother, it leads to high emotions, hope and heartbreak as she comes to understand her life and how she came to be. We also follow the families around Robyn, her birth mother, her mother who raised her as well as Jakes family. As the wedding day gets closer, her quietly kept secret comes out and tensions rise. Can there be true happiness though?

I simply loved this book, to say i loved it doesnt do it justice though, i wept happy tears at the end. Verionca has written a tale of relationships, love and so much more. Her words really hit my feelings and i just found it so beautifully overwhelming especially in those last few pages. It instantly bumped from a 4* to a 5*

Robyn was a lovely character to read about, she had a lovely soul and wanted to do right by everyone, she was kind and considerate and from the minute i met her i warmed to her. Veronica has created not only her but a wonderful cast of women. Her sister was firey but soft centred and her mother would do anything for anyone.

Yet the rest of the characters also had such warmth and depth, Jake was a great guy to read about and we could see where his personailty came from in the way of his dad. However what i loved most was how everyone interlinked, overlapped and supported each other. Their bonds were wonderful to read about.

Verionca also creates such a vivid community that you can picture it all from the way the tide changes to the bbq food they devour every week. I could smell the sea, taste the cocktails and see the building work progressing. I love a read where i can picture every fine detail and imagine myself there and this just did that.

Overall a beautifully written book about relationships and families, it was emotional and so very heart warmin
