Another return to Everdene and the Beach Huts but it doesn't matter if you haven't read any of the others in this series as they easily stand alone. This story focuses on Robyn preparing for her wedding to Jake and the birth of their baby. The wider family are also undergoing major changes in their own lives: Robyn's parents are coping with a failing farm and upcoming later life and empty nest; Rocky, Jake's father is considering dating again after the end of his marriage 15 years previously; Tina, Jake's mum, is contemplating whether the choices she made in the past were the right ones and Clover, Robyn's sister is preparing for A levels and University. However, the major aspect of the story is the need for Robyn to find her birth mother, provoked by her own pregnancy.
I loved this story. A great beach read that makes you want to dip your toes in the ocean and lie back on a sandy beach but also a beautiful and emotional account of the impact of adoption on all aspects of a family. I daydreamed about the seaside but also cried for the pain of Emily, Robyn's birth mother. The wedding is perfect but so was the ending. Fantastic.

One thing you are always guaranteed with a novel by Veronica Henry, is that you are in for a good reading experience.

It’s hard to know exactly how much to say in my review as the book description doesn’t give to much away and I don’t want to reveal to much to spoil it for others.

The characters are as always what makes this authors books. They are likeable and within no time I was engrossed with their everyday lives. I really liked Robyn’s family with her outspoken sister Clover and her lovely parents Mick and Sheila.

Robyn’s choices have some major affects on the people she loves which made for some emotional reading. You could see things from all sides and I didn’t envy Robyn for being in the position she was at all.

A Wedding At The Beach Hut is a wonderful story about relationships, especially the bonds between parent and child. The idyllic location of Everdene Sands added to the gentle atmosphere and pacing of this lovely read. Highly recommended!

I loved this book. I had no idea what to expect but loved the title so went for it.

This book is warm and definitely not predictable: All of the characters had so much depth, you couldn’t help but fall in love with them. From Robyn and Jake to their respective families and not forgetting the wonderful Gwen, this is a beautiful read.

Even more so as we dream of being free to explore whilst being in lockdown...

A beautiful moving story that had me crying with sadness and joy.

It contacts a wonderful bunch of characters and developing relationships. Although the title is a Wedding at the Beach Hut, and that is what the story is leading up to, it is focused more so on the main character's adoption. The subject is dealt with sympathetically and shows just how complex the matter is, and how many lives are involved.

There are a lot of characters involved in this story which I usually find overwhelming but every one of them was introduced at the right moment and all had such individual traits, there was no confusion. They were all extremely likable too.

I've read two of the earlier Beach Hut stories, but each can be read alone as they have different characters. I highly recommend that you read them all.

There is always something magical about books set at the seaside and this one is no exception. In true Veronica Henry style we are whisked away to enjoy something special in Everdene. A wedding, a baby and some secrets from the past all make for this delightful read.

This is a lovely summery story that offers pure escapism. Set in the fictional Everdene Sands in Devon the story follows Robyn and Jake as they plan their wedding. We meet many other characters along the way all with their own life changing story going on.

I have read some of Veronica Henry’s other books and loved them all but none from the ‘Beach Hut’ series, this is the fourth one and I understand you can read them in any order so I look forward to reading the others.

This is a lovely feel-good novel that is perfect for reading in the sunshine! Thank you to the publisher and Netgalley for the opportunity to read & review this wonderful book.

Well you can like a book and not like the characters but you can love a book when you love the characters too and this book definitely fell into that category. This is the third Veronica Henry book I've read and she has become a firm favourite of mine. Thanks Netgalley and publishers for letting me have the opportunity to review this book.

It was so good and sweeps you away to the world of Everdene, This book is about Robyn, a landscape gardener who finds out she is pregnant and when she and Jake plan to get married, she then wants to know about her adoption and find her birth mother. The book tells us about her life, her birth parents, her family and friends and takes you on a real emotional rollercoaster ride. It really comes to life the more you read. I cant remember a book that brought me to tears as much as this one did "through happy and sadness at times. It is the perfect book to take you away from reality.

This is the only title I have read from the series and this is the 4th book on the beach hut series, but you can read them in any order as I understand each book has completely different characters who just happen to live in the same town and own a beach hut there.

Thoroughly recommended - a fantastic read

What an absolute delight of a book! I have read several books by Veronica Henry, and this is one of her very best. The beautiful descriptions of the seaside with the colourful beach huts, delicious food, and perfect outfits are a joy to read. The different people, with their problems, are all realistic, and I felt empathy with many of them. I can’t wait for the next book y this author!

Veronica Henry novels are always a delight to read and I love it especially when the characters and locations overlap. A Wedding at the Beach Hut starts with a simple love story between Robyn and Jake, who are destined to spend the rest of their lives together. Initially I did wonder how their story could last for a whole novel.

But then the story unfolds and we step back into Robyn's past, and a whole new story emerges.

I really enjoy it when a book goes down a different path than you expect, and with Veronica Henry the outcome is never entirely anticipated.

Thank you #Netgalley for the advanced copy!

A great quick summer read following a young couple who is planning their wedding. Robyn, the main character, has a few unexpected situations, from pregnancy, to planning a wedding in a month, and meeting her birth parent's all while building her dream home. Though this month of her life seems complicated, Robyn does a great job navigating and gets the wedding she didn't know she dreamed of.

Veronica Henry has a knack of writing about ordinary people and making them seem like lifelong friends.
However, this story has beautiful scenery at its heart, rolling countryside, stunning architecture and of course the eponymous beach hut.
family means everything, but when adopted Robyn becomes pregnant and plans a wedding, she decides the time is right to trace her birth mother.
this moving story is a great advert for Beach huts (and families) everywhere.

Robyn’s life is pretty good. Living in Everdeane she runs a landscaping business with her boyfriend, Jake. Robyn comes from a loving home and both her parents and Jake’s Dad live close by. Meeting at the family owned beach hut every Friday evening for a barbeque and get together has become somewhat a tradition.
Robyn finds herself pregnant and as she has a solid relationship with Jake, the decide to get married. Add their home that they are converting and renovating into the mix, Robyn has a lot on her plate. As the wedding draws nearer, adopted Robyn decides to take steps to find her birth mother. At the risk of upsetting and worrying her adoptive parents and Jake, Robyn decides to face this alone. The story flicks back and forth between Robyn’s birth parents and the present day. We learn the all-consuming tale of how her birth parents met and the sad story of what was soon to follow.
As the wedding approaches, Robyn’s friend Gwen is in full flow, organising everything, including the post wedding celebration at the beach hut. She herself is facing a relationship change and we are led to believe that her story will also have a happy ending. The story closes with the weeding and a beautiful conclusion to a brilliant book.
This book examines relationships in a very sensitive and thoughtful way, particularly the topic of adoption. There isn’t anything to dislike about the characters; they are close knit and you have a real feeling of them being there for each other.
I have loved every book in Veronica Henry’s ‘Beach Hut’ series, so I was very keen to read ‘A Wedding at the Beach Hut’ and I was not disappointed in the slightest. The perfect book to while away the sunny hours this summer.

When you can't get away then you need someone else to weave a tale where you are swept away somewhere and you can guarantee the right place with Veronica Henry.

This is the fourth book to be set in Everdene and to feature the bright and colourful beach huts on the shore as well as the bright and colourful characters.

In this book we meet Robyn, laid back and confident in her work as a landscape gardener along with her boyfriend Jake. Life is taking some unexpected turns for them, with Robyn who is now cultivating their own baby and with Jake proposing it seems that everything is happening quickly.

Along with Robyn and Jake we have their families and friends who form part of a close knit community and all gather at Rocky's beach hut every week to catch up.

Rocky is Jake's father and brought up Jake and his brother Ethan when their mother, TIna left. Everdene was not the place for he, but it is certainly the place for Rocky and he thinks that perhaps there should a place for a relationship now in his life.

Robyn's parents, Sheila and Mick are struggling to get by and with Robyn getting married and their younger daughter Clover soon to fly the nest it seems some changes are needed.

What makes this story something else and not your average women's fiction is the background of Robyn. Robyn is adopted and she has never let it affect her until the moment she finds she is getting married and going to be a mother. Something changes within her and she wants to learn the truth of her birth.

And so as the story goes back to Robyn's birth mother and we find out Robyn's roots. However going back can affect the present and Robyn does not want to hurt anyone so she keeps it a secret with some resulting in some heartbreaking consequences.

Everyone's lives are changing in Everdene and as they all get together for Robyn and Jakes simple wedding celebration at the Beach Hut, it is a chance to come together in love and laughter and friendship and know that they are about to move onto many more scary and exciting times together.

This book was so enthralling I devoured it, so captivated that it brought me to lovely happy tears. I could feel the sand beneath my toes, I wanted to sit outside the beach hut and look out to the water, to the waves coming and going and the sky changing with the weather. It would be the perfect place to read such a book as this!

This is such a feel good novel it leaves you with that warm hearted feeling long after you have finished reading it.

Another most enjoyable book from Veronica Henry returning to Everdene and it's beach huts. A wonderful escape in lock down and just a perfect mix of romance plus family conflict with all the twists and turns along the way. Easy light read and thoroughly enjoyed with lovely characters. This author goes from strength to strength with bucketfuls of warmth and feel good factors.

I loved this book! I'm a big fan of Veronica Henry and especially the books set in Everdene around the beach huts, this being one of them.

This time the main story is about Robyn and Jake, who have a landscaping business together and started off as friends, then became more. Now Robyn is expecting and a wedding is being planned.

But the family surrounding them each have their own issues to work through. Robyn is adopted and feels it is the time to see if she can find her birth mother, but doesn't want to upset her parents. Her parents are going through money struggles with Hawksworthy Farm, the farm that has been in the family for generations and Robyn has grown up on, but her father especially is trying to sort things out but keeping it a secret. Jake's father, Rocky, is starting to date again after splitting from his wife and Jake's mother years ago, but the dating scene has changed so much in the meantime!

Then we also have part of the story from Robyn's birth mother, learning the story behind Robyn's adoption, and the story flips back and forth between timelines which really added to the story.

And all this is set around the beautiful sounding Everdene. Fabulous characters, a beach hut, and a wedding on the beach, what's not to like! A really lovely read.

I always look forward to a new book from this author and this one did not disappoint. It was an absolute joy to read. In these uncertain times it was lovely to disappear into a gentler world for a while.

Oh what a book. Veronica Henry's series of beach hut reads are a sure fire winner for happy days and the simplicity of sea, salt and sand between your toes. Every time I read one of these books I want to live in Everdene and I want to own a beach hut. It is my dream plan!
For some, the characters will appear Insta perfect and the plots syrupy sweet but who can genuinely knock an offering that makes you feel the sunshine is trapped inside of you and making you positively glow?
This is pure escapism from the grey drudgery of real life where things don't always go according to plan. At Everdene you can find the solution along the shoreline, at the harbour in Tawcombe, in the Ship Aground public house or the Mariscombe Hotel. Just the names (and the beautiful book covers) are enough to seduce a lover of romance and happy endings inside the pages.
Robyn and Jake went into a landscaping business together and are now expecting a baby. They are converting a cattleshed on Robyn's parents' Hawksworthy Farm and decide on an unusual venue for their wedding.
But all is not that straightforward. Jake's Dad Rocky wants to dip his toe back in the dating game, the farm has huge debts for Mick and Sheila to worry about and Robyn has a box hidden in a drawer that she hasn't once opened in 12 years. What is inside and what will taking the lid off mean for these people bound by birth and love?
With Clover and Ethan, Gwen and Boyd, Tina and Marley, join these wonderful fictional people in their bid to resolve the past and stride confidently into the future.
Already looking forward to the next Beach Hut read. My only complaint? I read them too quickly!

Veronica Henry never disappoints! I am a fan of the Beach Hut series and was excited to read this.

This book had good intertwining stories -from heartbreak and happiness - covering some tricky issues such as adoption and teenage pregnancy sensitively.

The ending left me with a lovely warm feeling and I look forward to more of her books.

Thank you so much to the publisher and NetGalley for an advance copy of the book.
