With all of the romance novels it's becoming more accepted to have gay romances. This is not an ordinary one because Matthias and Ean are different in every way. Matthias is older, full of secrets, and a dragon. Ean is lively, young and a wolf. Add to the mix pack dynamics and the beloved Ross and you have a wonderful tale.

I missed the download time frame so I purchased the book. This is an unexpected story of love, fear, guilt, acceptance and forgiveness. The story and character dynamics pull you in. My only disappointment is that this book is the end of the series. It can be a standalone but you will want to read the other books as the characters are so exciting. Purchase the series. The storyline and hot informative sex is worth it.

Finally! I suppose that there was no better couple to end the Chevalier series with, but readers were tortured almost as much as Ean with Matthias’ denial. Almost everyone else in the pack knew it, which only made it worse.

Matthias wasn’t my favorite, but he redeemed himself in Hearts of Destiny. It wasn’t a surprise that he was keeping secrets, but once they were revealed, things became a lot clearer. If Ean hadn’t resorted to tricking Matthias, I’m sure he would have come around eventually. Ean’s ridiculous plan just made him come around a little faster – which was probably a good thing.

There were a lot of twists, turns and surprises in Hearts of Destiny. The author did an amazing job of wrapping things up and making the final book worth the wait and giving ALL the characters, not just Ean and Matthias, the HEA they deserved. Even though each book centered around a different couple in the Chevalier pack, nothing for any of them was resolved until this final story.

This series was my introduction to Kay Doherty, but I’ll be keeping my eye out for more from this author. The Chevalier series put a unique twist on shifter romance and I can’t wait to see what this author has in store for readers next. 😉

Matthias and Ean's story is a great addition to this highly entertaining series and I'm really hoping it's not the last book, maybe a spinoff series to keep this wonderful world going. I enjoyed every minute and I highly recommend this entire series.

I was so excited when I saw this one posted. I have loved this series from beginning to end, and Hearts of Destiny certainly did not disappoint. There were some twists and turns I didn't see coming, and they enhanced the story in my opinion.

This is quite a short and quick read, but that doesn't mean that there's not a lot happening. This is book four in the series and I suspect that there has been a lot of world-building and explanation in previous books. I think that I managed to get the gist of things in this book, although there is plenty of reference to characters who must have appeared in previous books and had their romance told.
I liked both Matthias and Ean (pronounced like Ian? I'm not sure but that's what I went with in my head). For the most part their romance was good, with Matthias rejecting Ean to begin with and trying to deny his feelings, but ultimately doing the right thing. I wasn't entirely convinced or onboard with Matthias keeping calling Ean 'little boy' but I think that it was meant as a counter to being called 'old man' but I would have prefered if he hadn't. Context is everything, but you still can't escape the negative connotations, even if they weren't meant.
I think that this is one that would work better had you read the rest in the series, but I still enjoyed it. I should perhaps go back to the beginning and start there for a real feel for it.

Enjoyed the book. It is well written, entertaining and keeps your attention all the way to the end. The main story revolves around Matthias and Ean who are mates but Matthias refuses to claim Ean because of he does not feel like he deserves him. When Matthias hears that Ean is considering a severance he rushes to his side and claims him. The story also revolves the growing of the Chevalier Pack and the dangers that are lurking nearby. It is a great read and I would highly recommend it.

This is the fourth book in the Chevalier Series by Kay Doherty. At the time of writing this, I believe it might be the conclusion of the series. I've reached out to the author and will update if that is incorrect.

This book continues the story of the various pack members Doherty has brought to life in her series. This particular installment focusses on Matthias - a dragon shifter - and Ean - a wolf shifter. In an earlier book, it became clear that the two shifters were mates but Matthias was having none of it. His past experience with interspecies mating... and perhaps other secrets kept him from bonding with Ean.

The pack is still bonding in this novel...although things are definitely settling into place. An approaching blood moon and the ongoing threat from Tanner's pack of origin have them all under a great deal of tension. Doherty is great at establishing the "feel" of scenes quickly and I really enjoyed the ramping up of tension throughout this story.

While this book is primarily told from the points of view of Matthias and Ean, there are some lovely segues into the mind of Ross. Ross is a wolf shifter who has fallen victim to a blood lust that has left his sanity a bit frayed. There are signs that bonding with the pack may be making him better, but nothing is certain for the Chevalier pack. There are secrets in Ross' life that not even his mate can unravel.

Ross is a lovely character. I really enjoyed the way he moved freely between speaking in almost-riddles to being quite lucid. his "language" was creative and entertaining and often a bit eerie. I really enjoyed his presence in this story.

Really, this book is about the Chevalier Pack finally fitting all the pieces together. They don't want to be considered a threat to anyone, they simply want to be able to live their lives the way they want. Their small pack is a refuge for them, a respite from the hate and loathing that has faced them in their packs or origin. The problem is that no one really knows if the pack is a threat. Their pack, their bonds, and their skills are such a mixture and a bit of an unknown. That makes them threatening.

It's time for the pack to pull together, pool their resources and do what they can to protect themselves. They need to stay together!

This was a well-written series. I'm not going into great detail because I don't want to spoil some of the great plot twists and reveals in this installment. This is a great way to wrap up the plot lines that have been woven throughout the series! Very satisfying!
