This felt like I was reading it for about 2 months!! It was enjoyable, but I didn’t feel it was really going anywhere until the last 1/4 of the book! Then it turned up a few gears, and I couldn’t put it down! It went from a passable 3 stars to a 5 star! Well written, plenty of twists, despicable characters! Another great read from Slater.

I'm always excited to find a new author, especially one who writes psychological thrillers. It's my favorite genre and this book's blurb sounded interesting. It ended up being a quick read but it did fall a little flat. It was a bit slow at times and not as thrilling as I had hoped. I will seek out other books by this author though,

Usually I really enjoy books by K.L. Slater but with this one I had to struggle. For me it felt very slow going but as we all know this might also depend on the current mood one is in...
I felt unable to connect with Janey who is becoming friends with Tanya and her group in her new neighborhood.
Thanks #Bookouture #NetGalley

WOW WOW WOW What a fantastic read!! I’m a great fan of this author as her books just have really original storylines. I also live in the area that her books are based so that just makes them even more interesting!! I just couldn’t stop reading this book, gripping from the first page and great twists and turns. Highly recommend this book 📚

Secrets and lies... Mommy drama..... AND edge of your seat suspense.... Seriously! This book has it all and proves life is never what it seems.... I found Little Whispers impossible to put down. There was so many twist and turns, and OMG moments.... This book is a true page-turner, and anything but predictable....

Okay, I’m not going to lie I was hooked in the beginning. The book is fast paced and was an easy read. The plot was very good. However, the ending felt very rushed. So much build up for it all to be explained in the last 30 pages.

I like books that little clues are given, but it felt like the author just kept reminding you there was going to be twist, with the exact same line or information. So much was reiterated in this book that didn’t need to be. Also, I’m not sure if it’s because I have an unfinished copy but so many lines were repeated. Many times throughout the book I was like “Didn’t I just read this?”

I felt that the main character, Janey, was extremely naive. I found myself so frustrated with her as I was reading. Some of the clues were so obvious and it just felt like they went right over her head.

Overall, the book was good. If you’re looking for something light with a good twist at the end, this is you’re book. However, everything is explained so quickly at the end just be prepared to be hit with a ton all at once.

I loved this! Perfect psychological thriller! I couldn’t wait to get to the end to find the secret out! It had so many twists to the story that most of it I didn’t see coming, certain parts I thought I’d guessed only to be kind of right but totally wrong at the same time! Must read for 2020.

LITTLE WHISPERS is a psychological thriller by bestselling author K.L. Slater. Having read and enjoyed most of her novels, I couldn’t wait to start this book. Little Whispers will keep you guessing right until the very end.

She shared a secret with the wrong person.

Janey Markham and husband Isaac and eight-year-old son, Rowan are thrilled to be moving to Buckingham Crescent, the smartest address in a desirable suburban town, after her husband gets a promising new job in the IT field which involves relocation. Their relationship had been fading after ten years of marriage, and this was a chance to reconnect and rekindle their marriage, and a fresh new start in many ways.

A year ago, Janey had given up her job as a teaching assistant to be her mum’s carer. She and her son were very close to her mum, and when her mum died four months ago, it hit her hard.

Janey soon realized it wasn’t going to be easy to “fit in” the neighborhood, after she overheard a comment of “how the crescent is going down fast”, from a snotty group of rich women from the area.

Janey is thrilled when she meets Tanya, the kind of woman she has always looked up to. Tanya takes Janey under her wing, and her teenage daughter Angel is amazing with Janey’s little boy. As Janey and Tanya grow closer, Janey feels she can finally leave her troubled past behind.
But then everything changes…

In a weak moment over a bottle of wine, Janey finds herself telling Tanya her most shocking secret. Why wouldn’t she trust her new friend?

Be careful who you trust…

This fast-paced suspense novel builds slowly keeping the reader guessing along the way. This is another excellent book by author Kim Slater.

Many thanks to the author, Bookouture and Netgalley for my digital copy.

I love love KL Slater and her books are definite go to's when requesting on Netgalley.

She releases a ton (or it seems like) a year, and some are hit and miss, but I did enjoy this one. Is it my favorite? Probably not, but it's still better than some of the others she released. This would be in the top 5 probably. It was entertaining and creative and I don't know how she keeps coming up with idea after idea.

I think if you're a fan of her earlier work, you'll definitely enjoy this one.

This is a super fast read and it has ome good twists that kept my kept me intrigued until the very end. I didn't see the ending coming or guess the big secret revealed to Janey Markham by her mother just before her death. and the box she left her which she said would explain everything ! The novel is mostly told from Janey's point of view.
I really recommend this book.

I received an eARC of this book and would like to thank NetGalley, the publisher Bookoutre and the author for the opportunity to read this book in exchange for an honest review.

Thank you to the publisher and NetGalley for the opportunity to read and review this book. And boy what a book.. This book is well written and fast paced (mostly, there was a small section that seemed to go a little long). Definitely want to read more by her and will be recommending this book to everyone. Thanks!

I have read a fair few of Kim's books now and I will definitely be reading more.

Janey can't quite believe her luck when she finds herself in an incredibly exclusive suburban area when her husband lands a very lucrative job. Things appear to be picture perfect and she feels she can start putting her past where it belongs, in the past...but of course as with all of Kim's books things are not what they seem and soon things spiral out of control.

There are some fantastic twists in this book. I was especially shocked by the secret Janey's mother tells her on her deathbed...I most definitely did not see that one coming!! OMG! That was a shock!

I will say the first 25-30% or so of the book was a tad slow but from then on it was incredibly fast paced and I was desperate to know what happened next.

Thanks again Kim for another great thriller.

Another hit by Slater, whom has definitely got the key to writing a good psychological thriller! It has the much needed themes throughout; chills, thrills, twists & turns, and of course shocks! Well written and unputdownable throughout most, with some fast paced style! Overall, I think if you’re a Slater fan or new to her, you will enjoy! I highly recommend to my fellows thrill seekers!

I finished this delightful domestic thriller in just a weekend.

When Janey's husband is headhunter for a new role with double his salary, they relocate to the affluent Buckingham Crescent. Feeling like she will never fit in, she is relieved when the uber-stylish and well-connected Tanya takes Janey under her wing.

Quickly she is drawn into a world where it is hard to identify the differences between friends and enemies and truth and lies.

Special thanks to Netgalley for providing me with this ARC in exchange for my honest opinion.

Is it any easier being the new kid on the block when you are an adult and not a child? Good question. Janey and her husband are embarking on change that she hopes will help change their lives, but will it? New home in a new neighborhood with a new school for their son and a new life for them all. The new home is located in Buckingham Crescent, which is one of the most desirable neighborhoods in a fabulous suburb, but will Janey fit in with this group?
Slowly, but surely, Janey seems to be making friends with Tanya and her group. For the first time in a long time, she feels like she has friends. However, Janey has a secret that she does not want anyone to know, one that her Mother told her just before she died. Janey isn’t sure what to do with this information, but she finally (due to the help of alcohol) feels comfortable enough to share her deep, dark secret with Tanya. What happens next comes as a surprise to Janey and she discovers that she is not the only one with secrets.
K.L. Slater has done it again! This book is a good read, taking you out of your everyday life and putting you into the lives of those on Buckingham Crescent. Everyone has secrets, and not everyone is your friend even if they pretend to be. Thank you to NetGalley, BookOutre and the author for the opportunity to review this book. I loved it!
