This is a great read. The author does a good job of planting the seeds of doubt in your mind as you read, you know something is very wrong.

The book follows Janey who fears her marriage is getting stale, her husband works too much and she craves more family time. So when her husband gets a promotion, with a house move she views it as a new start.

Their new house is miles away and their son has to start a new school, Janey knows nobody. Added to this her husband is still working long hours, nothing seems to have changed.

Initially she is shunned by the elite mums at the school gate but when she does one of them a favour she is taken into their world. Soon she is enjoying her social life, however she has a dark secret that she has been struggling with, surely her new friend can be trusted with it?

Janey soon realises she has made a big mistake, and her life will never be the same.

I really enjoyed the book. However, I don’t think the book revolves around this huge secret. There is another whole mystery that is way more interesting !

Janey and Isaac move to a new neighborhood with their son, Rowan, for a fresh start after Janey’s mom passed. She’s spent the last portion of her life caring for her mother and is ready for a new start. She just doesn’t know what she’s getting into with this new group of school mums.

Her moms advice was to watch what she said to anyone. Isaac is a supporter of this theory as well. So, how much is too much to tell new friends.

This has a Big, Little Lies meets Mean Girls feel to it. These ladies would definitely have a Burn Book! This is the “IT” crowd and Janey wants in, but at what expense??? What secrets has her mother left for her to uncover? Why is Isaac acting so odd?

Little Whispers is a slow boil and really picks up around 60%. K.L. Slater does it again with this book.

A good storyline You are left guessing right until the end as to who the main culprit is. I have read all of K L Slater’s books and enjoyed them all. Highly recommended to all psychological thriller fans.

I love K L Slater’s books and this book is no exception.
I felt she built up tension really well .I couldn’t wait to find out what the secret was. And I found it hard to put the book down!
I wasn’t totally surprised by the ending but I loved the journey getting there .
Not my favourite of K L Slater’s books but I would definitely recommend.

I liked this book up to the 80% mark. As the new mom trying to find her place in the school circle, she is very relatable. But while the buildup was great, the big reveal and the ending didn’t quite work for me. All in all, it was okay.

As soon as I saw K.L.Slater’s book listed, I requested it! I absolutely devoured The Apartment and Little Whispers did not disappoint me!
Janey worries she’ll be left out of cool moms club after she moves back to Buckingham Crescent, so she befriends Tanya. After an innocent wine, Janey trusts Tanya with her secret. The next day, Tanya wants Janey to trust with her secret.
Its two women pitted against each other, but should stay together to not let their secrets ruin them.
This book has a good captivating suspense that every mystery reader will enjoy.

K.L. Slater's books are always gripping and difficult to put down. I was excited to read this book and I was not disappointed. This book puts forward the question "can confiding in a new friend come back to haunt you?"

Janey Markham, her husband Isaac and their son Rowan have moved to Buckingham Crescent in Nottinghamshire. They're excited but worried as well about a new school, home, job, town and friends.

Their neighbour Polly Finch is friendly and comes across as a bit "creepy" always seeming to watch the houses on the street. Her advice to Janey is "choose your company wisely." Edie, her husband Alistair and their daughter Aisha make the family feel welcome from practically their first day. They own the largest mansion on the street. Tanya, her husband Tristan and their children Dexter and Angel. Tanya quickly becomes best friends with Janey, with Dexter and Rowan becoming fast friends. The fourth member of the group Kyoko Nagasawa and her twins Cherry and Jun.

It seems that each of the mums has a secret that they are trying desperately to keep hidden. Isaac is also acting strangely and as Janey becomes more and more suspicious she starts digging. This will bring the unimaginable crashing down around her.

Interwoven is the story of Susan March who was abducted a week after her 18th birthday. She was excited to be heading to nursing college. She was heading to a friend's 18th birthday party when she disappears after giving a couple directions. Janey's digging also brings about answers regarding the Basement Killers.

This book is worth much more than 5 stars and I can't wait for the next book from Ms. Slater.

Janey Markham, her husband Isaac and their son Rowan move a short distance south from their home in Mansfield to a bigger and better house in West Bridgford, just south of the River Trent in Nottingham. Everything is going fine in their new home but then little whispers are spoken and nagging doubts surface.

Little Whispers is the eleventh novel from K. L. Slater but I have not read any of her books before. I believe that each of her books are psychological thrillers and they are all stand-alones. Very early on in Little Whispers the alarm bells are ringing that something is not right. Janey is excited about her new upmarket home but the reader is straight away on guard about her husband Isaac. Slowly Janey develops doubts about everyone in her new social circle plus frustration about the lack of free time Isaac’s new job gives him.
It made me chuckle when I read…

‘It’s just for the first week or so,’ he explains yet again before heading for the shower while I’m still fighting the grogginess of being woken by the evil 5.45 alarm he insists on setting each night before turning his bedside lamp off.

...Oh yes Janey, my wife Gail would love the alarm to go off at 05:45 rather than 02:30 when I am on an early duty! Later on Janey complains when Isaac gets back at 7pm which she considers late! Shift workers will shake their heads in disbelief.

I liked how Little Whispers was told from Janey’s point of view. The writing is of such good quality that men will have no trouble stepping into Janey’s shoes. Whilst Janey is rather trusting of everyone, the reader will have their doubts which makes this such a good psychological thriller. It is not just Janey who feels the tension but the reader too. What a shock both Janey and I got at the swimming pool.

I found the character development very good with each of the school gate mums very different yet extremely interesting. I enjoyed the dynamics and loved the dialogue between the school gate mums and how sharp they can be, especially the trip to the bistro for a coffee.

I found the inclusion of clothes, fashion and shopping amusing and entertaining - clothes that match, oh women - they can be so funny!

I liked the format of this book with it’s short chapters and linear time scale. I liked how this was a very British tale which explored class, cliques and snobbery. None of the characters ventured into Primark although mention was made!

I thought the plot was good and loved how doubts for the reader were thrown our way on every single short chapter. I am impressed and think Little Whispers is an OUTSTANDING read that gets the top score of 5 stars from me.

What a great read !!!!!! Never guessed the ending. I thought I had a few times but I was wrong!

This book was a bit too slow-moving for me. I didn't like the central character or her husband. She was a complainer and he didn't seem to have a personality. Too much drama and not enough thrill.

I love books that fall along the lines of Big Little Lies, about gossipy women's circles. Janey is the new mom in town and doesn't fit in with the other moms. Over wine one evening, with one of the women that she does befriend, Janey shares a dark secret that only her husband knows. Much to Janey's dismay, her husband starts to grow distant and has strange behaviors. Overall a decent thriller that allowed to escape for a while.

Yet again Kim Slater has written a book that had me glued to my kindle. From page 1 I was hooked and just wanted to keep reading. A brilliant suspense thriller with plenty of twists and turns.

I loved this book, amazing characters & has you hooked from the start. I would recommend this book to anyone my favourite one by this author I’ve read so far.

Having loved The Silent Ones, I knew I would love this too! The author does such a commendable job in building the entire story. There’s not just a person, his/her family or friends, but she builds up an entire community, a close knit society and then suddenly BOOM 💥
Although I felt the mystery here wasn’t that great as compared to The Silent Ones, but still it’s fine.

Another great story from KL Slater. Gripping from the start with so many twists that I didn't know who was going to turn out to be the baddie . I loved it. Another five star read from this great author. Highly recommended .

I have read all of K L Slater’s books and I would have to say that this is definitely the best one so far. I really got into the storyline and the characters so much so that I could visualise them all in my head and watching it like it was a movie. I really enjoyed it and hope Slater continues to write to this high standard.

I’m normally a huge K L Slater fan but Little Whispers just wasn’t enough.

I love a good rich bitch clique! The entitled attitudes, bitchiness, the money, the fashion, the perfect children, working husband and a bored wife. Perfect ingredients for a tasty book but I think this was baked wrong.

I need more than the synopsis from a story and the synopsis didn’t actually stop until 68%, it didn’t feel like Little Whispers was well planned. I can see flashes of classic K L Slater writing but this just didn’t do it for me.

The “other” chapters felt very disconnected to the story. They were too far apart and I found it hard to remember what was happening with Susan.

Wow! That’s what I have to say about Little Whispers, an intense psychological thriller from author, K.L. Slater.

Janey Markham and her family have just moved to Buckingham Crescent, a neighborhood much nicer than their previous one. Janey desperately wants to fit in with the sophisticated women in the neighborhood. She lets her guard down and reveals a secret to one of her new friends. A mistake she soon regrets. Now she has to decide between doing the right thing and having her explosive secret revealed.

Little Whispers is an excellent thriller. The characters are strong and completely believable. The plot is compelling and had me on the edge of my seat with the completely unexpected twists. I was guessing, incorrectly, up until the shocking end. This is a 5 out of 5 star read that I recommend to everyone who loves a good psychological thriller.

I have become a fan of K.L. Slater because of NetGalley and this book was no exception.

I love a good new to the neighborhood mom story and this one was fantastic. It was full of well developed characters, juicy gossip, wealth, secrets and plenty of twists that slowly unfold. The book was perfectly paced - it wasn't a slow burn but it wasn't a rushed page turner either.

Slater is an excellent writer and she is quickly becoming one of my favorite psychological thriller authors.
