Alice and her financial planner fiance Max are planning their wedding but he is making it a much bigger affair than she would like. She returns to Greece, where Max proposed, for her hens party and discovers the perfect spot for a more intimate gathering. But an evening spent chatting with a charming local creates all sorts of problems.
The gorgeous cover pulls you straight into this book, with its promise of a sunny Greek escape. However, the plot is a bit too simple and needed more drama to make it stand out.

Sue Roberts did it again! She made me enjoy one of her book once again! This is the perfect getaway book! It takes place mainly on greek islands during a hen party of the main character. She is about to get married to the most wonderful man but during her hen party trip with her friends she is starting to question herself about her relationship with her future husband. It's really well written, this book is a page-turner. And this book makes you think about the most important thing in life and in a relationship which would be trust, respect and a honesty. Very good book, I highly recommend it! 4 stars out of 5 for me!

The Greek travel portions of this book sound so good that they're torture to read during this time of limited travel. The rest of the story takes place in the UK, where our heroine struggles with her lack of confidence and assertiveness in her career and personal relationships. If I remember correctly, this book is described as "feel-good," I guess because nobody dies, but I related to the character's angst enough that I didn't really feel that good while reading. We Elinor Dashwood types do have feelings--we just don't complain about them.

Anyway, the book is a fast read that keeps you guessing until the end. I would like to read other works by this author, perhaps those with main characters a little less like me.

Thanks to the publishers and NetGalley for a digital ARC for the purpose of an unbiased review.

Thank You NetGalley, Bookouture and Sue Roberts for gifting me an advance copy of this book in exchange for my honest opinion.
Stuck at home and craving a summer vacation full of sun, sand, your girlfriends and good drinks? This book is the perfect way to transport yourself to beautiful Greece. Sue Roberts brought Crete and Santorini to life with her descriptions of gorgeous beaches, fabulous food and welcoming locals. I expected this to be a second chance romance type of story, but was pleasantly surprised it was so much more. I loved living vicariously through Alice and her friends and now I am dying for a vacation to Greece!

Warning to all brides - planning a wedding is stressful enough even if you've got a wedding planner and a groom who wants to take charge. This story explores some of the insecurities on the run up to making a marriage commitment, and the doubts that might come to the fore.

The setting is fantastic, and the descriptions of the places and the various activities are delightful.

Alice is heading to a Greek island for her hen party. Her wedding plans are spiralling out of control as her fiance Max keeps adding guests and extras which mean the small intimate wedding of her dreams is not possible.
Alice gets chatting to a Greek stranger and ends up spilling all the secrets of her unhappy childhood and fears for the future. Can Max heal her heart or will the wedding ruin the happiest day of her life...?
The first third of the book stimulates the reader's sympthy with Alice as it becomes obvious that she has an unhappy relationship with her mother and fears her fiance's spending habits. Both of these issues continue over the course of the book as we disocver more about Alice's past.
I wasn't entirely convinced that Alice and Max were suited to each other as he tramples over her feelings even though he knows about her family past.
Author Sue Roberts evokes the Greek culture wonderfully with rich descriptions and hints at history that made me want to go and research (Spinalonga etc). Her characters are likeable and it was easy to enjoy this book, imagining the locations and with believable relationships between the main protagonists.
I can easily envisage As Greek As It Gets being a fab beach read as well as being something to get us through the colder months! It is a light hearted novel with an emotional undertone and stunning location.

A lovely, lighthearted summer read, the perfect escape to warmer climes in these uncertain times. Alice is soon to marry Max and his sister books her a hen do in Crete with a couple of close friends, what could possibly go wrong?

It's been a grey couple of days here at home; a bit windy with showers of rain but I've been loving the sunshine pouring out of this novel!

This is a romance with a difference; Alice and Max have been together for quite some time and have wonderful memories of when he proposed whilst they were holidaying in Crete. With their approaching wedding becoming a bigger affair than Alice's dreams, she is happy to jet off on a short 'hen' break with her closest girlfriends to - where else - but the Greek sunshine! Desperate to make the most of their time together, the young women set out on various excursions, one led by the very handsome and sexy Vangelis . . .

A lovely, bright read which includes plenty of wonderful details about Greek culture, this is almost as good as a holiday! As with real life, of course, the path of true love never runs smooth and a few cracks appear on the road to happiness. This is, for the most part, a light and happy read with a bit of angst thrown in here and there - after all, who ever has the perfect life? A nicely written, easy read and one which left me with a smile on my face. I'm happy to recommend this one to all lovers of romance with a bit of foreign sunshine thrown in, and well worth all four stars.

My thanks to publisher for my copy and to Book On The Bright Side for my spot on this tour; this is - as always - my honest, original and unbiased review.

Beautiful setting/surrounding of a greek island. Very much a beach read, but if you like light reads for vacation this is definitely something i'd suggest. A little more women's fiction than romance...

Synopsis:
Alice Clark is delighted when her boyfriend Max proposes. From her dead-end job to her straight-up-dead houseplants, her life hasn’t exactly turned out how she imagined, so she can’t wait to start some wedding planning.

But the intimate affair she imagined soon grows wildly out of control, along with Alice’s doubts. Just as things reach breaking point between the couple, Alice’s best friend whisks her away for an escape to a sun-kissed Greek island.

Sandy beaches, crystal clear waters and a cocktail – or three – and Alice soon finds herself letting loose and relaxing into the Greek way of life. When she visits a gorgeous village nestled in the hilltops overlooking the sea, and meets a friendly local woman with a very special business – and a very handsome son – Alice is surprised by how drawn she feels to these people and this life.

As the sun sets on her Greek holiday, Alice knows she has some big decisions to make. Will finding herself mean losing the life she had planned? Or could it be the start of something else entirely?

This is the first Sue Roberts book for me and I enjoyed reading it.
Alice is a very likable character, that is easy going but has a hidden adventurous streak . The supporting cast did a great job of showing all the different sides to her and helping her along on her journey of becoming the person she was meant to be. Max was adorable too. Often in romance novels there's a bad guy but I really liked his character. He was loving, generous and adored Alice.
Through colourful and vivid description Sue Roberts brings the Greek islands to life.
I loved the beautiful descriptions of Crete and how this book mixed romance and humor. This would be a perfect beach read or for someone looking for a little lighter reading, especially during this time. I recommend this book for lovers of travel romance.
My rating: 4/5

A perfect summer read....exactly what we all need right now!.

Alice has the man of her dreams and a perfect, no expenses spared wedding approaching... so when her friends insist on a girls holiday in Greece as her hen party, she reluctantly agrees, not knowing how drastically things can change in such a short amount of time.

The friendship between Alice, Ria and Kerry is an absolute joy. It's the perfect level of fun and support which I think relates to most sincere friendships perfectly!. Her relationship with Max is also perfection! I might, just might have fallen in love with Max a little myself whilst reading this book!

This book was simply wonderful. The story kept me hooked from start to finish, and I honestly felt rather sad when I reached the end. Perfectly written, laugh out loud moments, and full of joy throughout.. I just wish I could take the feeling this book gave me and bottle it up.

Thank you to Bookouture, Sue Roberts and Netgalley for my ARC of this book.

As Greek as It Gets by Sue Roberts is mainly a contemporary or chick lit read with a bit of romance on the side. This one would be especially for those that love a little virtual travel as they read as the setting is a beautiful virtual vacation and what better time for one in the midst of a pandemic.

Alice Clark was overjoyed when her boyfriend Max proposed but she still thinks it all must be too good to be true. Alice is not used to having money but Max certainly is so when Max begins to go overboard with the wedding planning Alice simply agrees to whatever the latest plan of his is. However, when Alice’s friends whisk her away on a girl’s trip Alice begins to realize what it is she really wants for her wedding.

As if it weren’t already obvious I absolutely loved the setting in this story as the girls headed off to Greece, such a wonderful job done by the author bringing it all to life. I also loved the growth we see in Alice as she discovers herself over the course of the book and finally finds her voice. The secondary characters were also wonderful as it felt just like traveling along with these ladies as they got up to their crazy adventures making for a fun read.

I received an advance copy from the publisher via NetGalley.

Him...handsome, blue eyes that crinkle when he smiles or laughs! Her...long blonde hair, warm brown eyes, bikini figure. Oh how lovely. Not necessarily your average couple...him average height, average looks, slightly thinning hair. Her...no bikini figure, plain brown hair, brown eyes neither warm or captivating -- real life! That's why we read these delicious little books.

So what do we have here? We have Max who proposed to Alice in Crete, the sun was shining, the diamond ring was solitaire (of course) and you couldn't get a better start to a story. Fast forward two years, what could go wrong? Absolutely plenty. What's the cure? That would be a "hen" party back in Greece with her girlfriends. This was a fun-filled romcom that takes you away from the stress we're having currently. My thanks to NetGalley for this ARC in exchange for an honest review.

If you love the beach, tons of alochol and walks through historic cities, As Greek As It Gets is a read that will suit you well. When I picked this book, my eyes darted to the word Greek since I'm a huge fan of Greek mythology, Greek cities and stories that have any Greek element! True to its title, the book is a beautiful representation of Greece and it's gorgeous beaches.

The book opens with Max proposing to Alice for marriage in a beautiful Greek city. It is the most perfect proposal and Max seems to be the kind of doting boyfriend, that can love you beyond any measure. A little time later, we have a look into what Alice's life really is like. The book discusses her insecure relationship with a mother that can just not get it right, a sister who injures herself right before Alice's hen party and Max who seems to invite everyone he meets to the wedding. What Alice had imagined to be an intimate ceremony has turned into something so extravagant that they now have fireworks.

Amidst her insecurities regarding the wedding that just does not seem like her, Alice is forcefully whisked away to a hen party (all-paid by Max) to Greece again. Here she meets a gorgeous hunk, a Greek god if you may say so, who sways her world. Will Alice and Max be able to test the extremely rocky waters? That is something you need to find for yourself. However, I will tell you this that you can expect and emotional ride.

I am not much of a crier but in the middle of the book, I could not put this book down even for lunch because it hit home. The emotions were so raw, that I found myself anxious with the characters - literally, biting my nails - hoping they would make this through. It was extremely touching to me - someone who went through something so similar. Sue Roberts has done a fantastic job in writing these emotions.

This Greek romance is full of sun, sand and the beach. The Sophie Kinsella in you will laugh and cry with Alice.

A feel-good summer escape which is just what we need at the moment, Sue Roberts’ As Greek as it Gets is a delightful romantic romp packed with plenty of laughs which is a total joy from start to finish!

At long last, things finally seem to be going Alice Clark’s way. Life hasn’t exactly panned out as she had imagined. Far from having a thriving career and living an enviable lifestyle, poor Alice has to make do with a dead-end job and houseplants that seem to die as soon as she looks at them! When her boyfriend pops the question, Alice thinks that finally Lady Luck has smiled down upon her and showered her with some much-needed good fortune! She cannot wait to start wedding planning and to spend weeks on end thinking about cake, confetti and meringue dresses. As the small and intimate affair she had planning reaches epic proportions, tensions between herself and her fiancé escalate. Luckily for her, her best friend comes up with the perfect solution to give Alice a break and some space from her fiancé: a trip to Greece.

Alice cannot wait to spend some time topping up her tan, sipping cocktails and swimming in crystal blue waters. Taking to Greek life like a duck to water, Alice soon begins to fall under the spell of the beautiful country. On a sight-seeing trip to a village nestled in the hills, Alice finds herself drawn to the Greek way of life and when she meets a woman who runs a very special business – alongside her handsome son – Alice begins to wonder whether this unexpected trip away might just end up providing her with everything which she has ever wanted in life.

With the clock ticking and time running out on the holiday of a lifetime, Alice realises she cannot spend her life in Greece…or can she? As she finds herself with some big decisions to make, will Alice listen to her head or her heart? Will she return back home? Or has she found a place where she belongs?

As Greek as It Gets is a delicious and delightful romantic comedy that made me laugh out loud on many an occasion. Sue Roberts has got a wonderful style that draws you in from the very beginning and she keeps you entertained, chortling and hooked on her story throughout with a seductive blend of vivid descriptions of Greece, touching romance, hilarious wit and tender moments that will bring a tear to your eye.

A wonderful tale of taking chances, fresh starts and unexpected blessings, let Sue Roberts cheer you up with her fantastic new novel, As Greek as It Gets.

Oh this book was such an easy relaxed read! The descriptions the author gives while this friends are in Greece are fantastic! You really get to feel that you're there 🌸 You see the character growing up a bit and learning how to express herself and her desires, saying what she really wants, finally. About to get married, her hen trip, with friends and future sister-in-law. Made me feel like going on a trip. 🌸 Her fiance is a keeper, my favorite character of the entire book is definitely him!!! I didn't feel like falling for her but her fiance is such an amazing guy who just wants to spoil her!!! 🌸 Two years planning a wedding, a wedding that seems like it will end up not being what she wanted, a fiance that spends a lot of money, friends who love her, a non supportive mom, a trip before her wedding... It's really entertaining, it is good, maybe a bit plain but it's a cute read. Nothing remarkable about it for me but I had fun reading it
