I wanted to like this and thought I was going to, the setting was great and the premise seemed good, however it just didn't quite work for me and I ended up being a bit disappointed. Just ok..

Aaaaahhh, here we are, for our own good locked up in our country, in our village or for some in our house even and it seems like this will continue to be the case for a while longer. But, no panic! When you can loose yourself in a book, it can bring you wherever you want to be. It's like this author offered me a plane ticket to sunny Greece and I gladly accepted it.

I felt the sand between my toes, heard the lapping of the waves on the beach, smelt the salty sea air and I almost whipped out my sun glasses and lotion. I enjoyed every bit of history and every view. I sat down to taste some Greek dishes and sipped an ice cold cocktail or glass of wine. I did not read the story. I became part of it.

It's ok to please other people, but don't forget about what you want too. Loose control a bit, but not completely!

I loved how the relationship between two opposite personalities even grew deeper and stronger when one of them took a bit more control while the other let go a bit more.

Very cute story that I adored. 5 stars

Thank you, Sue Roberts and Bookouture

A big thank you to NetGalley and Bookouture for the ARC. I am voluntarily reviewing this book. I don't think I have read this author before. I loved the premise. I adore Greece! But this fell flat for me. I actually found it a bit odd. Somewhat cute but still just odd. I didn't like Max seeomed ok at first oo then just obsessed with money, and a bit overpowering and controlling. Did have a cute ending though. 3 stars

Thank you so much for this ARC (and mini vacation!).

This genre is a little bit different for me, I am usually more of a mystery and suspense reader, but I really needed a break. This book was absolutely perfect for my reading retreat!

To be honest, at first I was really getting quite annoyed with Alice - you have a fiance that loves you and wants a mega celebration to announce his love to the world, but all she did was complain. However, I LOVED how the book wraps up with Alice gaining confidence and self esteem to say the things she feels and to pursue her dreams.

Wow, do I wish I was in Greece. The food, the villages, the flowers and the beautiful people!

So happy this story ended the way it did, very heartwarming.

I absolutely loved this book, I was transported to Crete and felt as though I was a part of the hen party. Alice is a character I could identify with apart from having a rich fiance we have a lot in common including choices of friends. I am so glad the book ended the way it did. Perfect.

Oh what a perfect time to read a novel like this! If you can't get away for your holiday then this is the perfect alternative! It's full of delicious sounding Greek food, descriptions of idyllic locations and fun. As soon as I saw that Sue Roberts had released a new novel I couldn't wait to jump on it and read it as soon as I could! The cover is so beautiful, with it's bright blue sky, pink flowers and pretty traditional Greek houses.

At first I wasn't sure what to make of Alice, yes she seemed lovely but at the same time she was constantly complaining about her wedding to Max being over the top, but then at the same time allowing him to do whatever he wanted! There were also constant references to how much Alice loved him and how much looking at him made her realise how much she adored him which got a little tedious after a while.

However, as soon as the friends jetted off to sunny Greece, I started enjoying the story a whole lot more. The friends all seemed like a laugh and I really liked reading about what they got up to on the island for Alice's hen do. Although, I will say I am a bit unsure as to Vag.....'s involvement in the whole story, as it seemed he was only in the book for 5 minutes. Although I'm sure he has a key role in the overall story, it just seemed a bit rushed and a bit unbelievable to be honest.

Despite that, I really did enjoy this novel. It was summery and an easy read which is just what we need right now. I loved the setting, the descriptions as to what the friends get up to and the food of course! It was a nice ending and I look forward to what this author brings out next. Thank you to the publisher for a chance to read an advance copy of this novel, which I have reviewed honestly.

When on holiday in Greece, Max proposes to Alice and they are so in love. After two years, the wedding is getting closer, and Alice and her friends fly to Crete for the hen party. There she meets a pretty Greek man, and is tempted but doesn't stray. I kept expecting some big blow-up and cheating, etc,. and happily that is not the case here. A good feel-good romance story, and one that is a great way to pass the afternoon with a glass of wine. Would recommend.

What a great escape. Great read with descriptive scenery (I felt like I was in Greece!). The plot is typical, but the characters make the book a fun read.

As Greek As It Gets, a story of Alice and Max's journey to their potential marriage..

It starts out in out with Max's proposal in a beautiful location in Crete, then moving to the build up to the wedding. Alice is going on a surprise hen do to Crete, where she falls in love with the Island and way of life all over again. Whilst their meets a gentleman who she finds a surprising attraction to, as she knows how much she loves Max, then why does she feel this??

The book is told from Alice's perspective throughout. Great characters, and I'm sure close to home for some on this journey. Great read for the summer, have been to Crete a few times and takes you back.

A definite should read, lighthearted, at times emotional but overall great read.

Let’s head to Greece! Just look at that cover for a start. Lovely and sunny and as I opened that cover the sun started beaming and I felt myself smiling. A great book to feel you are actually in Greece.
Alice is getting married and is having her hen do in Greece. During her time there, she discovers a lot about herself and you wonder what’s going to happen when the holiday is over. Is she going to stay with her (controlling) boyfriend or will she find that her sunny new and artistic life is more her thing?

In the current times the need for a feel good read has never been greater and this certainly fits the bill. From the absolutely gorgeous cover design to the exquisite descriptions of Greece this book has it all. So much so that I devoured this book in one sitting. I loved the story of the run up to Alice's wedding with her hen holiday in Greece. Over the course of the novel she grows in confidence but will it be enough to get what she really wants? I loved the relationships between the characters especially those between Ria, Alice and Kerry. I wasn't overly keen on Max, thinking he bordered on controlling at times but it all turned out for the best in the end. So, grab this book, settle down and be prepared to book a holiday to Greece as soon as the current conditions end.
Thanks to Netgalley and the publishers for the opportunity to read this great summer read.

As Greek as it Gets by Sue Roberts is your ticket to a much needed escape to the sun-drenched Greek island of Crete. This is a fun, flirty read, and the perfect reprieve when you just need to abandon reality, if only for a few hours.

Artist Alice is thrilled when her boyfriend Max proposes. Everyone agrees that they are the perfect match. But when the small, intimate wedding that Alice has always dreamed of becomes overblown and more expensive at Max's whims, Alice begins to question just how well-suited the two really are.
On a hen trip to Crete, Alice crosses paths with a dashing local, and is surprised to discover just how at home she feels among the friendly locals, and, in particular, the artistic community. Is this life, in fact, her true destiny?

This is a quick escapist read that will have you longing to travel to sun-soaked shores.

Many thanks to NetGalley and Bookouture for this ARC.
