This is such a gorgeous, glamorous read.
I felt the magic as I was transported through Nancy's life. The wonderful vivid descriptions of 1960s Paris and Italy and the lovable, flawed and dazzling characters all made this a truly delicious read.
The story is told from two points of view, both borne out of heartbreak and I was absorbed into them straight away. Nancy and Flo were both fabulous leading ladies...Nancy oozed glamour.
I thought the ending was brilliant and matched the quality of the story throughout.
The whole narrative was so strong and well written.
An absolutely amazing debut.

Florence (Flo) is left reeling after the death of her baby, her husband 's mistake and the death of her beloved Grandma Peggy.

Some 60 years previously, Flo's Great Aunt Nancy disappeared from the family history.

When Flo discovers this mystery, she retraces her Great Aunts travels in search of answers.

This duel timeline story weaves its magic through two heartbroken women who learn to be strong and know what they want out of life. Travelling through France and Italy with a 60 year gap, we see the differences in culture, landscape, media and attitude. The family dynamics are interesting, with secrets and mysteries hidden from sight.

I loved this book and the way sewing patterns linked the story together.

A lovely book offering the reader both escapism and intrigue. It is set now and in the early 1960s. Our modern heroine is Flo who is unhappy in her relationship and following the death of her baby late in the pregnancy. When her adored Grandmother dies she realises that there are secrets in her family and she won't rest until she discovers what happened in the past. This leads her to retrace the steps that Nancy Moon took in 1962.
The writing flows seamlessly between the eras. The references to the sewing patterns Flo discovers and the amazing fashions made by her great aunt is different and really well done. They provide the backbone to the story and I could actually see the beautiful outfits created by both Nancy and then Flo.
I am very glad that I read this charming book that is ultimately about family, friendship and a need to belong.
Thank you to the author, the publishers and #NetGalley for the opportunity to read and review #TheMissingPiecesofNancyMoon

An intricately plotted and clever story, which weaves together the stories of two generations of women several decades apart. The use of clothing patterns and the outfits they created to blend the stories together was really rather beautiful, and the vivid descriptions brought them to life.
The characters were believable and endearing - each with their own strength and weaknesses. I'll admit I wouldn't have had the patience to work my way slowly through the clues as Flo does - her patience is admirable - but the way she does this leads to the most worthwhile and heartwarming pay off at the end.

A wonderful book, which took me on a journey and stayed with me for days afterwards.

This book was far better than I expected from the blurb, I loved the concept, recreating the dresses and travelling across Europe to fill in all the blanks. I wish there had been illustrations of the outfits Nancy designed though, that would have been a nice little extra.
