Police thriller with interesting characters and an intriguing storyline. D I Grace has her hands full both professionally and personally.

I’ve been patiently waiting for the next Helen Grace instalment and it didn’t disappoint! Full of twists and we got to know more of her personal life in this book. Love the ending and can’t wait to see what happens next!

The Helen Grace books are one of my favourite series, featuring a strong female Detective and a sick, twisted and depraved serial killer and whilst each book can be read as a standalone, I would strongly recommend reading the books in order (listed below) to fully to understand the complex personality and background of Helen Grace and her team.

Once again, this book is written in short, fast paced and tense chapters which means despite my best intentions of "just one more chapter" I ended up reading it for hours and hours - however this isn't a complaint - as with everything going on in the crazy world right now All Fall Down was a welcome distraction and escape from reality.

Several years previously 5 teenagers were abducted and tortured, 4 escaped barely alive and their abductor was never found.  Today those 4 are now living their own individual lives, some are moving on, some are successful entrepreneurs and some are profiting from their experience by writing a memoir of that tragic event.

When one of the "survivors" receives a phone call telling him he has one hour to live and is then found brutally murdered DCI Grace finds herself tasked with hunting down and capturing the killer before he can kill any one else.

All Fall Down kept me guessing, second guessing and doubting myself throughout and I thoroughly enjoyed every page of this book.  It was great to catch up with Helen and her team again and I look forward to book 10.

I’ve been a huge fan of the DI Helen Grace series right from the beginning. This series holds a special place in my heart, it was the very first crime fiction series I discovered!

All Fall Down is book 9, out in June, and does not disappoint. Helen is back with an EPIC case and as usual … barely makes it through alive! What I loved about this one was the structure was a little different from the last ones. The current case was broken up by extracts of an upcoming book. We actually ended up getting two mysteries to solve.

It was great to see all the main characters back again too. I love Charlie - Helen’s side kick! And getting to know Grace Simmons a bit more too…. and then of course, Joseph Hudson is back, bringing along a whole lot more mystery and intrigue as we (and Helen!) try to understand more about this guy.

Arlidge takes us on such a ride with this one, and I was on the edge of my seat throughout. A real addictive thriller that I got through in a day!

Reviews will be up next week

All Fall Down is the 9th Book in M.J.Arlidge's very successful D.I.Helen Grace series.
The book begins with a very successful businessman receiving a phone call at his office telling him he only has an hour to live so he is quite relieved to get outside and into his waiting Hire Car safely. He never makes it home and Grace and her team are soon on the case.. While still puzzling over a motive more murders happen and it become apparent that the victims are all from a group of people who were held captive and tortured by a psychopath in their schooldays . While doing their Duke of Edinburgh award they stumbled across his remote house after being lost in fog.,eventually escaping but leaving one of their number behind to her fate. Despite the psycho apparently having committed suicide it seems that,in best horror movie style, he's back.
While grappling with an increasingly complicate private life Grace is engaged in a race against time against a foe who always seems one step ahead of the investigation and a knack of disappearing when the police appear on the scene.
This is a great addition to the series and regular readers won't be disappointed, there are plenty of red herrings and some big twists . It can be read as a standalone but readers will get far more out of it if they're familiar with the characters and their backstories.

Thanks to M.J.Arlidge, Orion Publishing and Netgalley for the ARC in return for an honest review.

This book literally had my heart racing. Dragged a bit in the first half but soon picked up. Another fab edition to the series.

I have been eagerly awaiting the next book in the DI Helen Grace series so was very excited to receive an ARC of ‘All Fall Down’. M J Arlidge never fails to deliver as this was yet again another fantastic read with plenty of twists and turns. I was gripped from beginning to end. Definitely one to read.

** spoiler alert ** 3.5 stars

Took me a while to get into this one...it felt full of Emilia and Joseph just being nasty, and a narrative broken up with extracts of the book.

When I finally did get into it,I sped through it.
Helen seemed to feature a bit more, and there were twists I didn't see coming, and a villain who had plotted everything with such detail.
A nail biting showdown, and then a great cliff hanger.

Definitely looking forward to more.

I was gasping for breath when I read its ending. Highly recommended for thriller lovers.
What you do if someone say that you've only an hour to live? How do you feel? Panic sets in, right.
All fall down is so gripping from starting to end that I was wondering how anyone thought such an amazing concept. I was gasping after I read its ending.
The job of finding out falls to DI Helen Grace: a woman with a track record in hunting killers. However, this is A case where the killer seems to always be one step ahead of the police and the victims.
Characters and dialogues are surprisingly good.
Thanks to NetGalley and Orion Publishing Group for giving me an advance copy.
