This has to be one of the best Helen Grace books yet, and the others have been great.

I think I must have, for some reason, missed the last one, so I’ll have to go back and catch up. I don’t know if Joseph was in the previous book, but I didn’t like him from the off, thought he was quite unsuitable for Helen!

However, as the story rattled along at an unnerving pace, I was swept along and what a crescendo at the end. I’m usually good at working out who’s who, but this had me flummoxed. I honestly didn’t see that coming. It’s quite hard to write a review without giving the story away. I did get the impression that Helen seemed to have settled down a bit more now and didn’t have to battle her demons so much, and she still loved her bikes.

This actually kept me awake from 02:30 until 4am until I finished it. Can’t wait for the next one to see what happens with Helen and her team.

My thanks to M J Arlidge, the publishers and Netgalley for the ARC. I will try and leave a review on Goodreads but atm the book isn’t showing on their list.

All Fall Down is another addictive crime thriller from this brilliant author.
The sole survivor from a group of five abductees who had been horrifically tortured receives a phone call saying “you have one hour to live”, one hour later he is murdered. D I Helen Grace and her team embark on an investigation that is chillingly torturous with so many twists and turns with a pace that leaves you breathless, and the twist...brilliant !
Grace and her team are racing against time to stop this serial killer whose actions are gruesome and absolutely horrific, yet another tour de force , thoroughly brilliant, a masterpiece of a thriller.
My thanks to net galley and Orion publishing Group for the opportunity to review this book honestly.

Another brilliantly twisted read in this well established series. We see the return of several characters faced with a clever, unique and incredibly sick and unexpected killer on the loose.

If you were told you only had one hour to live, what you think? A cruel trick? A mistake? Crossed wires? This sinister phone message is the crux of DI Helen Grace’s latest case. Someone is out there, wanting to take lives within 60 minutes and won’t let anyone or anything get in the way. Helen is prepared and her team is ready – some more so than others, and some more honest than others – but with few leads or clues, can she stop the killings? I’ve read all of the Helen Grace series and highly rate her skills (I think this would make an exceptional TV show). What’s interesting is that the police team must navigate a story so horrific that it makes you feel highly unsettled in parts, as well as deal with their personal lives. One particular scene makes you wonder where the next Helen Grace book will go, and I’m all the more interested because of it. Loved it.

The story begins with a man getting stuck in a lift and getting an eerie phone call to say he has one hour to live. An hour later, he is dead... DI Helen Grace and her team investigate and as the victims pile up, it becomes a race against time to stop the killer.

Another fantastic entry to the DI Helen Grace series. The book has a great plot with a brilliant twist. I always love reading about Helen Grace and her team and seeing what is going on in their lives as they are all really interesting characters. Very much recommended.

Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for an advance copy of the book in return for my honest feedback.

I have read all the books in the Helen Grace series so far and have loved each and every one, so was really pleased to preview this one.

Some years ago, five teenagers were abducted and tortured. Four of these victims managed to escape and have gone on to be successful in someway. One of the survivors receives a phone call telling them that they have ‘one hour to live’ and is soon found murdered. Helen Grace and her team soon find themselves on the hunt for a serial killer.

I love Helen Grace! She is a fantastic character with flaws but she continues to always do her best no matter what the outcome will be. Also we can’t forget the rest of her team who help her along, they too make the book a fantastic read. Really looking forward to the next in the series.

Many thanks to Netgalley and the publisher Orion Publishing Group for ARC of this book in exchange for my honest review.

I have read all the Helen Grace series and have loved every one, this was no exception. Fast paced story line and i didn't guess who the perpetrator was so kept me on the edge of my seat. Bring on the next one!!

I’ve read all the previous DI Helen Grace books and none of them, this one included, ever disappoint. Engaging from the beginning, the plot twists and twirls, with victims being warned of their murder an hour beforehand: a great read for those who like their thrillers fast-paced.

Another brilliantly gripping Helen Grace story. Helen is a fabulous character and has spawned many imitators. This plot grips like a boa constrictor, I literally could not put it down, I even read through lunch (husband not happy). The plot, the characters, the setting, the dialogue and the pace are brilliant. Small cliffhanger at the end too. The thing is that the reader really roots for Helen and wants to see her not only solve the case, but to find some personal peace. I was pleased at the end of the last book that maybe the author had given Helen some happiness... sadly not!

"You have one hour to live." Those are the only words on the phone call. Then they hang up. Surely, a prank? A mistake? A wrong number? Anything but the chilling truth. That someone is watching, waiting, working to take your life in one hour. But why? The job of finding out falls to DI Helen Grace: a woman with a track record in hunting killers. However, this is A case where the killer seems to always be one step ahead of the police and the victims. With no motive, no leads, no clues - nothing but pure fear - an hour can last a lifetime.

Helen Grace is one of my favourite crime characters and with this latest offering from Arlidge she is back with a bang! The plot firmly centres around an investigation and not a crime close to the central character, a feature I never like. Anyway, back to this read and what an intense, fast-paced plot Arlidge has written. It is chilling as well as torturous as we follow the would be victims through their final moments and the hope they experience. I absolutely loved this book.

With all Arlidge books I have to give a warning that they are gruesome and this is no different but it is perfectly in keeping with the plot and not there for shock value. I was completely hooked by this read and found myself addicted to the danger and horror the characters go through.

Another aspect I loved was Arlidge's use of a book within a book, one of the characters has a book set for release and part of the story is told through this. That is all I am going to say, a bit cryptic I know but I do not want to spoil this excellent read for anyone.

With any established series it is always a joy to return to much beloved characters and this series is no different. Yes I adore catching up with Helen Grace but also Charlie, Simmons and all the other returning characters. It really is like catching up with old friends and I loved discovering the new developments in their lives and the balance between investigating and living their life.

'All Fall Down' is an intense, addictive and dangerous instalment in the Helen Grace series. I absolutely adored this high octane read and highly recommend it.

Thank you to NetGalley and Orion Publishing Group for an advance copy.

I couldn't have been more excited to receive a copy of this book and it certainly didn't disappoint. As with previous books in the DI Helen Grace series this was packed with many twists and turns, along with a fascinating cast of characters. I am not normally a crime reader, however this series always has me coming back for more. This book is written to be read as part of a series, however I would not hesitate in recommending it to friends and family as a standalone. This book is certainly well worth a read and I can't wait to see what happens next in the series!

I loved loved loved this book, absolutely delighted to have another Helen Grace adventure to sink my teeth into.
I've loved the series after having Eeny Meeny waiting to be read for some time (my error) and I then read all of them in a week and have been impatiently waiting for this one.
It did not disappoint, I've been on the edge of my seat again, absolutely gripped with all the twists and turns and terrified by the killer, kept guessing til the last.
Delighted to find it was absolutely unputdownable but devastated I'll have to wait for the next installment.
Thanks to the author, publisher and netgalley for the advance copy in return for my honest review.

I was so pleased to get to preview this book as I had read the previous 8 books in the series back to back which is not something I usually do and I was eagerly awaiting this book.

Helen Grace is an extraordinary strong and yes, somewhat troubled character which through the series of books makes you question how this Deetective continues to remain in the police force. Other characters in this series are extraordinary, strong and add to the strength of the book.

In this real page turner, Helen and her team encounter a serial killer. The story recounts how 5 teenagers some years previously were abducted and tortured. 4 of the victims escaped and are largely successful in their own way. Helen is on the hunt for a serial killer when one of the survivors is found murdered having received a call advising him that he has an hour to live. There is no better detective in literary history to tackle this in my humble opinion. As ever Helen puts her life on the line. This detective just does not know when to stop.

I urge that readers read the books in orderit's to get a real feel for the history of Helen and her colleagues. However this stands up on its own.
Thanks to Netgalley UK, the author and Publishers ORION for allowing to preview this book in exchange for a fair and honest review.

This is the latest installment in the series featuring DI Helen Grace. It works as a standalone, I think - I've only read one of the other previous books and wasn't lost at all!

A brutal murder is preceded by a sinister phone call telling the victim that they have only an hour to live. The killing seems to be linked to another incident eight years before when a group of young people on their Duke of Edinburgh expedition were targeted, but it becomes a race against time as more threats are made and the police can't get a solid lead. Meanwhile, DI Grace is also having to deal with problems in her personal life and a nosy reporter who seems too close to the police investigation.

This is another well-written and tense thriller - it certainly kept me reading, although I have to confess I did see one of the twists coming. DI Helen Grace is a strong and likeable heroine and the story is engaging. I wasn't a huge fan of the 'flashback' elements told via extracts from one of the character's book and I also thought the journalist figure was a bit irritating - they felt like extra elements that weren't really needed as the book had plenty else to offer.

Overall, I would recommend this book to people who like tense and pacy police procedurals. It's one that rarely slows and is - in places - really quite creepy. I look forward to reading more of this series.
