A one night stand and a child he never knew about will drive him closer to the woman he never forgot. Fate has a way of changing everything you once believed.

This is the 2nd in a trilogy by Leslie North. Stephanie Sugarman was meant to go on holiday with her son, but she's been roped into a meeting with her boss. The difference is, the meeting is with Charlie Preston. A man she had a one night stand with years ago. Charlie Preston is just about to walk into a meeting to sort out the finances of a company that needs help, what he isn't banking on is walking into Stephanie Sugarman, a woman he's been yearning for since that one night stand. What happens when Charlie Preston finds out he has a son and that his mother pushed Stephanie away all those years ago. Will Stephanie let him in and find love again with him or will Charlie muck it up with all his plans for their future together. You have to read this book and it's a start of a terrific series.

Reading another of Leslie North books has got me back to reading again after a lengthy 2 months.

Watching Steph and Charlie butt up against each other, their preconceived notions about each other and themselves, overcome that was very fun. I enjoy this troup and was pleased with the author's take.

Stephanie and Charlie met while in Las Vegas for business. They ended up having a one night stand. The next morning she notices that Charlie has left without saying a word.
Stephanie discovers she has something other than memories of her time in Las Vegas. When Stephanie could not get in contact with Charlie, she revealed to his mother that she is pregnant with his child. The reaction Charlie's mother displayed was disheartening.

Years passed before Charlie and Stephine were in one another’s presence again. She walked into his office, and they both were shocked. Stephanie did not enter alone. Following close behind her was a little boy. Charlie knew right away that Jasper was his son. He wanted to do right by him, but Stephanie was uncomfortable with the idea. She had raised Jasper alone and was extremely cautious.

This was an easy read and quick read. I recommend this for some light reading.

I received a copy of this book in exchange for my honest review.

Sweet and lighthearted love story, that is a perfect escape for a road-trip, airplane, or on the beach.

Summary:

Six years ago Stephanie Sugarman was at her first work related conference in the intriguing Las Vegas; where she meets the extremely handsome and charming, Charlie Preston. Maybe her confidence was boosted or was it the thrill of Vegas, Stephanie isn’t sure, but she found herself drinking with the gorgeous man and later starring up at his naked body. Charlie was gone the next morning without a word. Stephanie’s breathtaking one night stand resulted in an unplanned pregnancy, trying to reach Charlie, she contacts his mother. Instead of notifying her son, she offers Stephanie money. Stephanie declined and is now a single mother to Jasper.

Charlie’s only pleasant memory of the conference is of Stephanie Sugarman, which he completely screwed up when he left the room before she woke. Vegas entailed a relapse he isn’t proud of, and his addiction has turned him into a meticulous planner, with EVERYTHING! Charlie has no knowledge of Jasper or his mother’s attempted payoff.

The Preston Brothers have trusted Charlie with a vital opportunity within their business, Baldwin Trucking’s acquisition. Stephanie has been held up from her much needed vacation, to assist her boss, Allen Baldwin, in selling his company. As Stephanie enters Charlie’s office, both Stephanie and Charlie are stunned to see the other. Following directly on her heels is 5 year old Jasper. Charlie is perceptive, and promptly realizes: He is a Father! Immediately deciding he wants Jasper, and Stephanie, in his life! But being a parent isn’t something you can rigorously plan. Stephanie isn’t as quick to accept Charlie, but is willing to give him a chance. Can Charlie learn to follow his heart, instead of a spreadsheet? If he can’t Stephanie and Jasper are out of his life. Is Stephanie willing to share responsibility of Jasper? And more importantly, her heart?

The Billionaire’s Secret Son is one of the shortest novels I’ve read in 2020. It’s a quick read, but still alluring. The reader gets 2 different POVs, Stephanie and Charlie, in 3rd person. The chapters are also short, and I repeatedly felt the urge to continue. This is Leslie North’s second book in the Preston Brothers series, it can certainly be read as a stand-alone (which I did). I am curious to know, if I had read book #1 beforehand, would the outset of this book flowed easier and absorbed me in sooner? The first few chapters I sensed I was missing something. I was still intrigued, just a tad discombobulated.

(Example: I don’t remember the company the Preston Brothers own ever being named or described. While this detail is secondary to the story, it would have cleared a layer of the haze I had at the beginning. I later read in a fellow reader’s review, they own a shipping company.)

Stephanie’s character was very relatable! Her Momma Bear ferocity was normal for her situations. Charlie was more than the Billionaire schmuck I expected him to be, and I kept finding myself pulling for him to succeed. I would have enjoyed learning more about Stephanie and Charlie, separate and as a couple, but to keep the narrative short- we are graced with just enough. (Flashbacks to “the night” would have been perfect too!)

I enjoyed the story and would have kept reading another 100+ pages as Stephanie and Charlie renewed their connection. As a quick, playful, read- Leslie North hit it out of the park!

3.75-4 stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

To Stephanie, Charlie is just the bay boy billionaire who rejected his own son. Six years ago, she and Charlie had a one night stand, which left her pregnant. When she contacted his family, his mother offered her money to go away. Now, she is forced to spend time him while working on a business deal. At first she can't stand to be in the same room as him, but she soon realizes that he's not the man she believed he was. Charlie has never been able to get Stephanie out of his mind. Now that she's back in his life, he's determined to prove that he is the man and father she wants in her life. Charlie is a planner and he plans their future without any input from Stephanie. She has not part of this. Will they figure out how to work together towards a future?

I loved this second book in the Preston Brothers series. Sweet story of second chances and happily ever after. I am excited to read the third and final book in this series!

Thanks so NetGalley and Relay Publishing for an eARC in exchange for an honest review.

Adult romance book

The beginning is an bit short and superficial and some of the chapters an bit weird to read..
It feels an bit rushed.

That said, I liked reading it, maybe because I didn’t read book 1 that I miss some of the details?
I don’t know, but overall it’s an easy read, definitely something to take with you on the vacation and read along the swimming pool.

The characters are Stephanie an strong headed single mom that knows what’s she wants for her son Jasper, Charlie an stubbornly wealthy guy that loves to plan every single detail of his life...

Thank you for giving me the opportunity to read this arc
The next book about Archer is something to look forward too 🤗💕📖

A big thank you to NetGalley and Relay Publishing for the ARC. I am voluntarily reviewing this book. This is the 2nd in a series, but can be read as a stand alone. Ok I know these are predictable and fast reads, but geez! Honestly who moves in with someone they had a one night stand with 6 years before? They basically know nothing about each other? Why isn't she angry? why isn't he angry? Wow? Now I'm angry! Lol To contrived to be believable sorry I just don't get this one. 2 stars

This was a great second chance romance that helped lighten my mood. I loved how giving the hero was and I respect the heroine's bravery to open her heart again. I believe that all love deserves a second chance. I received an advanced reader's copy in exchange for my honest review.

It was a enjoyable read. A one night stand ends of pregnant. she reaches out to father and mother sends her away. years later she ends up working for him. then the hotness begins. it was very entertaining. i only wish it didnt take so long for him to see and figure out it was his kid.

Fortunately, Leslie North usually brings out two or three books of a series, in a short period of time. So, I can read them all in one go. This month, I had my fix of Leslie with the Preston Brothers. All three, rich selfmade billionaires, of the Preston Shipping company.
The second story is about brother Charlie. Over six years ago he had a one night stand at a convention. But they didn't exchange name and numbers. Now, when trying to take over a company, the owner sends in his assistant Stephanie to help crunch the numbers. Imagine Charlie's surprise, when he realizes it is the mystery woman of six years ago. And Charlie doesn't have to do a lot of math to realize that Jason, her six year old son, could be his.
Stephanie learned the hard way that life is giving you unsuspected twists and turns. Like her unplanned pregnancy and being turned away by Charlie's mother at the time. So, she grew up to be an independent woman and a single mom. Working with Charlie was another unexpected turn of events. But when she realizes that Charlie's mother never told Charlie he was to become a dad, she decides it isn't fair to keep him from his son.
That doesn't mean, however, that planning-to-th-minute mr. Charlie, can go around and expect her and her son to fall in line with his planning. No, Charlie definitely needs to realize that children don't stick to a planning and neither will she. Will Charlie and Stephanie find a way to reconcile and give Jason a home?

Second in this series. Not my favorite. We have two star crossed lovers, who after a hit em and leave em, five years previously, met again and the drama begins. It is a tediously, dramatic story with a HEA. Just my opinion, it may be the perfect book for you.

It’s a quick read but I think could have been better. A son from a one night stand where you didn’t even know her name. 6 years later and you meet the son and instantly your playing Dad. It all just seemed a bit rushed and the characters a bit boring.
I much preferred the first book in this series. Thank you though for my ARC NetGalley

I didn't really care for The Billionaire's Secret Son. The son in question resulted from a one night stand. The female lead went to the guy's family and was offered money to go away. Six years later, they meet again and he finds out about his son. The characters seemed pretty one dimensional and uninspired.

I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Overall good book. Charlie always planning ahead and everything scheduled is difficult to do with a 5 year old.. And Stephanie's independent and having to take things as they come. They both had to learn how to let go and find a middle ground especially when it came to Jasper.. Yeah I wanted to smack her upside the head lol... But understand what she went through as a single mom... I thought Charlie should of more upset at his parents for trying to buy Stephanie to keep quiet...

Very enjoyable second book in this series. The Preston brothers are on a roll finding their HEA’s.

When Charlie finds out he has a son from a one night stand five years ago , he’s stunned. Nevertheless he’s determined to be the dad he should have been all along . That is if Stephanie will let him .

She’s protective of Jasper her son , and Charlie is controlling, can the two work it out.

Enjoyable read, great characters as always and great chemistry with our lead two.

I received an Arc copy of this book and chose to post this review

This could have been so much better. Where is the passion? where is the scorned left behind one night stand woman....Who moves in with a one night stand after 5 years and not knowing anything about them....Again, this could have been so much better if there was a plot to this one...
