I have agonized for days over writing this review, so I'm just going to put it out there.

This book was hit and miss for me, more miss than hit, and that pains me to say as I've read and enjoyed a number of books by this author.

My biggest issue was the push and pull throughout. Don't get me wrong, I love characters having to fight for want they want, but this one was over the top angst and drama.

Oh, the drama. A forgotten childhood memory (which I found hard to buy into but went with) the ex that we hear hide nor hair of until the drama-lama needs to appear. That scene killed the book for me and the beautiful moment that came before. I literally stopped reading at the 83% mark.

Two days later, I picked up where I left off, and I kinda wish I hadn't. As if that episode wasn't enough, the reader is treated to more drama.

There is some heat in the story, but I didn't care for that either, more's the pity because I'm a fan of a good sex scene.

I recommend this book to readers who enjoy stories featuring emotionally unavailable women with an uncertain future.

This book is a love story between two womens, Olivia and Eve. But it's not as easy as it seems. They both have their struggles with relationships and it's really well written. The characters are well developped and you can truly understand how they feel and why they react the way they do. The writting brings you on a cute little ride on a flowing river. It's smooth but it makes you want to continue to read more. The reasons why it's four stars it's because I found it a little bit repetitive at the end and the plot was very simple. I would recommend it to anyone who wants to read a cute little f/f romance.

When I pick Olivia's Awakening to read, I didn't really have many expectation about how great a book this would be or even if it would be bad. I just picked it because I love to read a good romance. By the end of this one I did not get a good read or a bad read. It was just ok.

Olivia has been divorced from a self absorbed, abusive man for around a year. She left him despite her upbringing and decided to live her life for her. Very positive message here. She has decided to get into shape though it appears she really doesn't look terrible. She just has a bad body image. She meets Eve who is a personal trainer on the first day of her training to a better herself. There is instant attraction between the two and because Olivia has been brought up to think being gay is wrong she fights that attraction.

As I started to read this one, I actually thought I was going to hate it. I thought the beginning was forced and not natural. I do believe in love at first sight, but with this one the words tried to force the issue. After about 30%, I began to feel more at home with the romance. There was for sure a dance between Olivia and Eve. I liked both characters and as I continued to read they grew on me more and more. The story still dragged a bit and some issues felt forced. I could never get why Eve was so against relationships. Sure there was an explanation but it did not add up to me.

By the time that sex came, I was relieved. Ronica Black does a good job with the sex scenes and describing how it could feel for someone having sex with the same sex for the first time. There might be a few things I would do differently with Olivia's Awakening, but not much has to do with the sex scenes.

I overall thought this was decent. I will give it 3 stars.

This is a read about being pushed outside your comfort zone and finding self. It is also about friendship, family, and relationships. I was engaged from the beginning. I liked the fitness and personal trainer perspective (the mountain). It meant a lot to me because I understand how important it is for self-confidence and how you feel mentally.

Eve Monroe, personal fitness trainer with a big heart and a wonderful personality. I also liked her best friend, Karen. Eve is standoffish about commitment and letting others really get to know her. Olivia Savage, divorcée, looking to improve her self-esteem and self-worth. Olivia is making these changes by returning to college and working out. she also would not mind being in a all encompassing relationship.

This love story between two women flows with hope.

The writing is great. the story is interesting, However I felt like they were both over dramatic sometimes. and honestly HOW CAN I FIND LOVE LIKE THAT out of nowhere. Throughout the book I was struggling to put an Imagine to Olivia. I could not. specially since her age was mentioned in the last few chapters. Nevertheless. I understood Liv struggles, having a controlling mother I related to her so much.

Very recommended. thank you for the author and her team for the free copy

Whoever reads Ronica's books, knows that she can come up with awesome, hot, moving story.
This one is not any different. It is warm, gut wrenching, coming out story.
For someone as Olivia who was almost brain washed by mother and her belives, no wonder she had such a hard time coming to terms with what she feels. Eve, I love for being sure of herself, yet when it comes to deeper feeligs, having hard time as well.
Both, are perfect for each other. Uplifiting each others feelings and needs. Never putting the other down.
They did all while trying to better each other. Not only physically (which is very motivating for me), but also mentaly. They had small circle of friends and family who had their back, and that means a lot to both.
All in all this book, was so warm and at points hot, that I read it almost in one sitting. It is definitively hard to put it down.

This book’s title is perfect! You read this book and that exactly what you experience....Olivia’s Awakening. It is a truly fantastic ride! Olivia and Eve met at the top of a mountain in Phoenix. Their chemistry sizzled immediately and while Eve was ready to act on it, Olivia was nowhere ready to accept her feelings. Olivia spent her whole life being a good girl and following her parents’, then her husband’s demands. The character development of both Olivia and Eve was excellent and engaging as was their relationship. Aaron, Molly, Karen, and Jake were perfect supporting characters that really added to the plot. I was rooting for Eve and Olivia to get out of their own way so they could truly be happy....together. Ronica Black has written another fantastic read!!
