I wouldn't say this was a thriller/mystery as I went into it thinking it was - however I found it to be fun and riveting.

My only issue was the number of characters - I often struggle when there are multiple character lines to follow and this was no different. I found it fun to read, but these types of stories are hard for me to follow - no fault to the author!

Had so much fun reading this book. It had a good mix of humor and drama. It gave me desperate housewives vibes and i enjoyed every second of it.

I finished Lie, Lie Again by Stacy Wise a few weeks ago and I still feel conflicted on how to rate/review it. ⠀

On one hand, the writing and character development was addictive and very enjoyable. It had all the happenings for a really good domestic thriller. There were major Big Little Lies vibes, which I am indeed a fan of. ⠀

Sadly, the title and the summary make it sound way more menacing and thrillery than it really was. I ended the book feeling "oh that's it?" I feel like if my expectations from the title and summary wouldn't have been there, I would have enjoyed it way more. ⠀

This book is a heck of a lot of fun. Little lies, big lies, scheming & more. This story takes place in a four-plex & it is a female-driven drama. Now, I’m careful to use the word “drama” because there are definitely moments & passages that made me laugh. I just couldn’t put it down. ⁣

Read this book if you like ensemble stories. Each character’s storyline weaves together & it just sucks you in! LIE, LIE AGAIN is entertaining, enjoyable & so bingeworthy!

I just couldn't get into this one. I didn't care about any of the characters - none of their backstories were relatable to me.

These three women, Sylvia Webb, Riki McFarlan, and Embry Taylor, indeed have secrets; however, there’s only one whose storyline (including backstory), and the secret within, that really drives the narrative forward, in my opinion, that kept me guessing until literally the very end—Whose body is it found at the bottom of the staircase?

Was it murder or an accident?

You will have to read the book and find out. ;)

The secrets of the other two women aren’t as monumental as I expected them to be in regards to the plot, and there need to stay buried.

Though LIE, LIE AGAIN didn’t tick off all the boxes for me, I enjoyed reading the book, and look forward to reading other novels by Wise, BEYOND THE STARS and MAYBE SOMEONE LIKE YOU.

Unfortunately, I just don't think this book was for me. I appreciated that there was a female ensemble of characters, but I didn't find any of the them particularly relatable or likable enough that I cared too much for their problems. The dialogue wasn't always believable and I didn't always fully understand each character's motivation. However, I DO think others will probably enjoy this book--it's an easy and fun read.

When I first noticed this book I was so excited to read it. I didn't quite pay attention to the cover and if I had, maybe I would have realized this book was going to be different than I expected. I freely admit to honing in on the body at the bottom of the stairs and tuning everything else out. Oh, by the way- that cover is pretty amazing, right?

Anyways this book was more of a 300 plus page soap opera than anything else. And that isn't bad. Overall I enjoyed this well written novel with less than likable characters. And yes, part of the fun of this book were our three narrators- Sylvia, Embry and Riki.

Despite a BLAH and I mean BLAH ending, I found this to be a solid read.

This book ended up being a three star for me, however the book started in mass confusion. The character development was slow and confusing. I'm not sure that I'll be recommending this book to others.

This was a quick read, but on the whole unsatisfying. Not only did it in no way live up to the blurb - not sure where the thriller and mystery aspect were hidden, I certainly didn't discover anything of that nature - but the characters were one-dimensional and written for a soap opera, not anything with real depth.

Lies. They come in all shapes and sizes and we all find ourselves uttering them now and then.

1054 Mockingbird Lane is home to three women. Each living in their own apartments, Sylvia, Riki and Embry couldn't be more different. Embry married young and has two children with her handsome, would-be star actor - husband Brandon. Riki has a career and a boyfriend but gets wobbly knees each time Brandon turns his smile on her. Sylvia has decided it's about time she settled down, and her romance with Hugh may just give her a happy ever after and the family she longs for .. but those little lies are sneaking their way into all their lives . . .

What a great read! Fabulously crafted characters, each with hidden traits, all try to improve the lives of not only themselves but, in Embry's case, also that of her young family but as lies begin to affect each of their lives, doubts grow and action needs to follow. I couldn't have seen where this was heading but it had me nodding and shaking my head in turn I'm surprised I didn't end up with a neck injury! Each woman's story is individually tailored to her circumstances and each has a different and unexpected outcome. I started out quite ambivalent about the characters and ended up totally invested in them all, cheering them on from the sidelines. An excellent read and a very satisfying outcome. Love, love, loved this one and am very happy to give it all five stars.

Welcome to the wonderful 4 apartment complex on Mockingbird Lane. The story is told from the POVs from each of the tenants.
You have Sylvia, the seductive female, who learned that her boyfriend was actually married.
Embry, who is a young mom of two, that is married to Brandon that is smitten with her, who happens to be a heart throb in his on right.
Riki, a kindergarten teacher, that thinks she is in love with Brandon, her neighbor.
Jonathan, who is the son of the owner of the building who had died not long ago. He wants to sell the land for mega bucks.

This was a straight up gossip read, and it reminded me of the old TV show, Melrose Place. It opened with a dead body and then it showed you the life’s of the people who lived there a month prior to the accident.

Who is the dead body? You have to read it to find out!!

I enjoyed the day to day goings of each of the people. Being that I’m a thriller reader, I wished it would have been more of more of a twist at the end.

All in all I still recommend, especially if you enjoy woman’s fiction with a side of gossip!

I read about 120 pages of this book before deciding to not finish it. The plot was incredibly boring and I didn’t like any of the characters. Thank you for the opportunity to read and review this title, but I will not be promoting this release due to my inability to complete it.

1054 Mockingbird Lane may seem idyllic from the outside, but holy hell - the secrets & lies hiding behind close doors are enough to knock your socks off! I finished this one moments ago and I am struggling to wrap my head around what I just read and lower my anxiety a little bit!

My thoughts -

If you love a good, strong and highly unlikeable (in the best way possible) female character, then look no further than Sylvia Webb. Some chapters, I loved her and others I wanted to punch her in the arm! While this book centers around the crazy and complicated lives of 3 women, Sylvia takes center stage and her story really outshines the rest. In some ways, I wish there was a bit more from Riki and Embry, but they played a nice compliment.

I struggled a bit with the pacing on this one - it felt really long in certain parts (where the additional background chapters didn't feel necessary). I was able to finish this one in a day (even with my 4 year old home with me), so it was definitely interesting enough to keep me invested, but I think it could have cut down a lot and still packed a punch.

This one is being touted as a mystery / thriller and I think that may be a slight miscategorization. When I opened the book and read the first chapter, I thought this was going to be a murder mystery and I was slightly let down that it wasn't. Yes ... everything wraps up neatly at the end (though I found it to be a bit predictable), but I didn't find this to be super "thrilling." I'd say this is more of a domestic suspense, which is a great genre nonetheless.

Lie, Lie Again was a fun read and I really enjoyed Stacy's writing style. I think this one is begging for a sequel! Thank you #GetRedPR for my gifted copy!

This isn't exactly a thriller but more of a drama. It reminded me of the book If You're Happy and You Know It. I enjoyed reading all about the unlikable characters and was sucked into their drama. If you go into this not expecting a thriller, you may enjoy it!

Who's dead at the bottom of the stairs? No spoilers from me but know that this tale of three women almost immediately jets back 15 days earlier. Sylvia, Embry, and Riki have more in common than it might appear at first. Their secrets spool out slowly as they tell their stories in turn. This isn't a murder mystery but rather all about them. Sylvia is the most dynamic but don't count the others out. Thanks to netgalley for the ARC. Entertaining.

Told from the perspective of three woman, you explore the lives of Sylvia, Riki and Embry who all live in the same apartment complex and are all hiding secrets. Some secrets are more involved and make the story something you want to explore more. Other secrets are pretty vanilla and it seems you are just following along with someone’s daily life.

Easy read with not much depth or meaning, but still enjoyable.

Follow the story of three neighbors, how their lives intertwine, and how a dead man ends up at the bottom of their stairs. We get to meet Sylvia, a scheming woman who is used to making things happen for herself. She finds herself plotting when life does not go her way. Next, we have Riki, a teacher at a private school, who's in love with her neighbor, has a terrible boyfriend, and seems to have the worst luck. Then, we have the Taylor's. They are a young couple with two children who seems to have a "picture-perfect" marriage. One problem... Embry's husband, Brandon, is an aspiring actor who can never seem to book a gig. This story gripped my attention from start to finish. I highly recommend this book!

Three women is the center of this story. Sylvia, a marketing professional, Embry who is a mother of two and Riki, a teacher at a private school. They live in the same apartments complex and each of them have a different characters. My favorite character is Embry.

Sylvia is desperate to have a family and goshh she is such a manipulative character and you don't want to get on her bad side. Then we have Riki who have a crush on Embry's husband like wtf duhhh that is your friend's husband!!
Btw I don't think this is a thriller story and it was a slow paced story. I almost dnf this book lol

Well written domestic drama. Three women (Sylvia, Riki, Embry) met at their apartment complex on Mockingbird Lane and become friends. All are looking for something, but will their lies get in the way? The book draws you in from the first chapter with a body at the bottom of stairs, and then unravels how it got there. While well written, I expected more suspense and drama. I found the storyline fairly predictable on where it was headed. While two of the women were relatable in their issues, one had dark issues.

I look forward to reading this author again. Thanks to Ms. Wise, Lake Union Publishing and NetGalley for this ARC. Opinion is mine alone.
