This is my first read by Rachel Grant but definitely won't be my last. The story continued to build and had me intrigued from page one. I also really enjoyed the characters and the chemistry they shared.

What a great book! Rachel is one of my favorite authors and this is book follows Pax and Morgan's book. This is Bastian's and Brie's book.

The storyline is stellar, the characters great, even the bad guys, and the momentum is a great paste that will keep you interested through the entire book.

As always I feel like I always learn something new from this author and it keeps me coming back for more. As always, I'm ready for the next book!

Rachel Grant continues to be one of the best! This book, like her others, is non-stop.

Brie as a character was interesting. At first, I didn’t really care for her. Brash, yet vulnerable, Brie has a heart for her work in South Sudan.

Bastion- kind of a jerk at first. But he grew on me and is an excellent hero.

Great story!

When I saw this on Netgalley available for request I thought it might be interesting, it certainly wasn't the typical book I'd go for, not cover wise, nor story wise. But reading it quickly taught me otherwise.

Rachel Grant is brilliant, to say the least. This story is a masterpiece and a half. Her characters are captivating, sassy. The storyline will keep you on edge, open your eyes to the happenings of our world, intrigue you at every corner and hold your interest right up to the very end. The plot, all its surroundings and settings were very well crafted, thought out and researched. Something im very happy to see, as I have seen writers who care not for the huge inconsistencies in storylines and that was not here.

Grant clearly knows how to write romantic suspense. The romance was everything one could ever seek in a book. Bastian and Brie were an absolute delight and I am saddened that there is not more of them.

Additionally, I was pleasantly intrigued by the foreshadowing and the teasing of Savvy and Cal, and will now most definitely be picking up the 3rd book in the flashpoint series to see their story unfold.

The beginning was strong and the couple had a lot of chemistry, although it wasn't quite what I was expecting.

But if you like second chances romances you would probably love this one.

Warning: Too much sexual content, it may annoy some readers.

Dang...reading this book was exhausting! (in the best possible way)

Brie Stewart has spent the past seven months working for a humanitarian aid organization, supporting efforts to feed the starving people of war-torn South Sudan. It’s challenging work, but she hopes her efforts to do good in the world balance out the sins she committed years ago while employed by her family’s oil company. But one night the camp is raided and she escapes alone through a secret hatch, forced to travel on foot while evading capture from an unknown enemy.

Except she does get caught.

Thankfully, Sebastian Ford and his fellow Special Forces teammates are there for the rescue. Until even her rescue mission goes sideways.

You know that saying...out of the fry pan, into the fire? Just when Brie and Bastian think they’ve endured a most harrowing ordeal, higher ups send them into another impossibly dangerous situation. One where any number of people could be the enemy.

This book is full of non-stop action, and the reader is kept guessing. You don’t know exactly who the bad guys are or what their motives might be, if they have ties to South Sudan or come from Brie’s past. The best thing about the writing is that you’re kept guessing but the author doesn’t beat you over the head with the secrets. The story unfolds at a breathtaking pace and us readers are just along for the agonizing, heartbreaking ride.

Romantic suspense is one of my favorite genres to read, but I want equal parts of a romance AND a suspenseful, action-packed story. Rachel Grant is quickly making her way onto my “Must Read” list because in all of her books I’ve read, she has nailed it perfectly. I definitely can’t wait to read more from this series and from Ms. Grant!

I find that Rachel Grant consistently delivers romantic thrillers that are interesting, fast paced and are equally good as romance and as thrillers, where many books in this specific genre can feel unbalanced. If this series ever gets picked up for a show, I will be ready with my popcorn!

An enjoyable read, a nice distraction and cure characters. It’s a nice enough story and although it didn’t blow me away (as was a bit predictable) it’s just a good romance and will give you a decent distraction from current life.

Will your past ever leave you alone? Sebastian Ford can't believe that in all the places of the world that he would run into Gabriella Prime. He wants to know what she is doing here as she only causes hurt wherever she goes. She just wants to be left alone but he keeps on pushing by calling Princess Prime which she hates as she isn't that person anymore. She just wants to carry on with her job working with the locals to keep them fed but he has brought up old wounds. Bastain might be a badass Special Forces member but when he finds out that Brie has been taken he knows that he needs to be on the team that goes looking for her. She has gotten under his skin in a good way will they find her before it is too late?
Brie knows that this isn't going to end well as she has been taken to the slave market & she knows that someone is going to buy her. Can she fight or should she try & stay alive? She can't believe that he has found her but nothing is going to be easy from this way forward.
Bastian knows that he has to keep this professional but it is so hard as one kiss was all it took for him but he knows that he needs to get her to safety. Brie knows that this isn't going to end well as she just can't get involved with him it will hurt too much when she walks away.
The danger isn't over yet & Bastain knows that this is even going to be harder than before as he has fallen for her but she keeps on pushing him away. Can they get through this together and will they get what they both want?
A good action read. I was lucky enough to receive a copy via Netgalley & the publishing house in exchange for my honest review.

War torn countries and the food shortage in South Sudan was vividly described by the author. When Bree flies in as an aid worker, finding she is next on the auction block. Or was her family behind this as a ploy to furthering their company
Bastion won’t let her be abducted, and together they will fight, as the personal sparks fly between them.
What a compelling story, giving us a tension filled plot, that doesn’t stop till the end. Well done and readers will enjoy

Brie/ Gabriella is the Prime Princess but has left her family to be an aid worker is South Sudan. She’s an anthropologist who is helping feed the poor. Sebastian is a Green Beret and Native American. He is training men in Djibouti. He knew Brie when she worked for her fathers oil company and didn’t like her. She gets kidnapped and Bastian’s A Team goes in to rescue her from a slave market. They get separated from the rest and must survive until they are located. As they are healing on a Navy ship, Bastian is tasked with finding out everything about Brie’s family. Then they go to her home in Morocco and are looking into someone from her past. Another kidnapping and will Bastian lose the first woman he has truly loved?
Excellent story with action and sex. Will keep you on the edge of your seat. Brie is strong and brave, while Bastian is handsome and a soldier through and through.
