I received an ARC of this absorbing story. Once again, Bette Lee Crosby has written a book that captivates from the first page. Her characters tug at your heartstrings and sweep you away with them through their dilemmas and decisions. As always, I couldn't put this book down!

Bette Lee Crosby has done it again.
What a poignant emotional roller coaster I was on with A Million Little Lies.
I was enthralled with this from the first page all the way to the end.
I was on this edge of my seat wondering what the next turn might have for Suzanna Duff.
There were some OMG moments that I wanted to scream at the characters.....

I have loved every book that I have read and this was no exception!!!

I received a copy of this book from the publisher in exchange for fair and honest review.

I really enjoy reading this authors work. ‘Emily Gone’ made me cry but this book really will stay with me I think.
‘A Million Little Lies’ it’s just so easy to do when trying to get by. When you’re doing what you have to, not what you’d want to.

I enjoyed getting to know the characters, even love to hate Earl! Those who find themselves doing the right thing in the end too.
The character I pitied is Iris. My favourite character has to be Ida. I found her to be quite selfless.
As the story grew pace, I had to keep reading faster because I had to know what would happen. Would it be ok? Cheering Suzanna on and cringing alongside her at times.
One of the reasons I enjoy Bette Lee
Crosby’s writing is she knows how to get under your skin and tell a good story.

Suzanna has had to make some hard choices in life, has always had the best of intentions. Life as is known, doesn’t always work out the way we might have liked. Despite this Suzanna rolls up her sleeves and makes the hard choices to move on to do the best she can for her daughter. I loved A Million Little Lies and I’d recommend it to friends.

If you think for a moment, that Emily, Gone (Ms Bette’s last novel) couldn’t be topped; well I’m here to say, that’s a fib! With each new novel I read from Bette Lee Crosby, I fall more in love with her books and writing style.

You see, for the past couple of years, the only books I truly enjoyed were more thriller/suspense based. I read mystery and chick-lit years ago and needed something more. Now, as I’m getting older and dealing with a really rambunctious 6 year old, I’m finding I’m coming back into that mystery and chick-lit that I loved so much before. That’s where Ms Bette’s books come into play.

Her books are wonderful, great and beautiful settings that make you wish you lived there, characters that are flawed but, have so much to offer. Her stories just flow together and whisper, “keep reading, keep reading”.

So many lies, so many truths, so much good that comes out of those lies. Truly a must read! I hope you all will grab it and let me know your thoughts! Thanks again to Ms Bette ales Crosby, the publisher and NetGalley!!

Loved this one! Suzanna had a heart wrenching childhood that culminated in her having a child of her own as a teenager. She accepted an offer from an abusive man because she had nowhere else to go. After many years she and her daughter escaped with just a few dollars. Suzanna wanted her daughter Annie to have a childhood she didn’t. They ended up with a recent widow who took them in and they bonded as a “family”. Suzanna is torn with continued lies or telling the truth and risking it all. The characters came alive... it was like watching people I know and love, and these characters are very lovable. This read will remind us all that truth and love always win. Many many thanks to Bette Lee Crosby, Bent Pine Publishing, and NetGalley for an ARC of this amazing book. I am so looking forward to reading more books written by Bette Lee Crosby. You should preorder this very special read, to be published on June 16th.

Now I see why Bette Lee Crosby has so many devoted followers. Her writing is heartfelt and relatable, and she creates characters that tug on our heartstrings. Her characters aren’t perfect, but we love them anyway. Or maybe their imperfections are why we love them/

Suzanna Duff didn’t mean to deceive Ida. She just wanted a family and a good life for her seven-year-old daughter Annie. But one little lie led to another and another and…

When Ida Parker mistakenly assumed Suzanna was her late husband’s long-lost granddaughter Darla Jean, Suzanna did not see the harm in going along with her. It was just for one day, and then Suzanna and Annie would go on their way. But when she saw how happy Ida made Annie, she didn’t see the harm in staying a bit longer. And when she realized how happy Ida was to have Annie in her life, Suzanna thought they could stay a little longer. And so, the lies continued to build.

This is a beautiful story of women supporting each other and becoming stronger individuals because of that support. It’s a story of learning what love is. And it is a story of finding and making a family. “There’s all kinds of families…Some are born into belonging to one another…But there’s another kind of family, one created by people who love each other and are willing to hold on to what they’ve found.”

Need something to lift your spirits, make you smile, and warm your heart? Then I highly recommend this book.

I so enjoyed “A Million Little Lies” by Bette Lee Crosby. Lying can come so easy, but before you know it you can become entrapped within them. This proves to be true for Suzanna as she tries to better her life and the life of her daughter, Annie. You will cringe with each lie, but root for Annie and Suzanna despite the tangled webs! This is a page turner that will keep you involved.

Bette Lee Crosby is one of my favorite authors! Her books are always enticing stories about every day people I can easily relate to; characters you care about and find yourself rooting for. A Million Little Lies reveals how innocent “white lies” we may tell to protect others can become larger lies we become stuck in; we feel it would be more harmful to tell the truth than to continue in the lies.

Reading this book you feel you are there, trying to make everything work out.

Genres are fiction, family, women’s fiction

This was my first novel by this author. I thought it had great character growth and enjoyed the flipping of character POV from each chapter. I was nervous when earl was released from prison, but I liked how that possible fiasco was resolved. I especially liked the relationship that few between Gregg and Annie. It’s not easy to assume to role of step dad and he showed so much love for her.

Good story about a woman who is down on her luck in a less than ideal situation whose life gets completely changed based on lies. Those lies carry her through and ultimately she is able to release the burden of lies and her life becomes anew. I received an ARC from Netgalley and the publisher and this is my honest review.

One thing I really enjoy about the author’s writing is the reality of life with a twist of spiritual promptings woven throughout.
Follow Susanna, who has made many poor choices in life, but devoted herself to giving her daughter Annie, the best life possible.
Meet Ida, and see how the years of experience have shaped her into the grandmother figure she has become.
There are several men in Susanna’s life. Can she make a wise choice?
The lies keep piling up and Susanna can’t seem to stop. But as always, the truth sets us free.

Bette Lee Crosby’s new book, A Million Little Lies was a light, easy read. What I enjoy the most about reading her books is that she writes southern fiction really well. Her characters are always ones that you can connect with and grow to care about, even when they don’t always make the best choices. This story was about Susannah Duff, who had a rather rough start to her life. Because of this, she picked up the bad habit of lying, lying to protect herself and to protect the ones she cared about. All she ever really wanted was to have a family, someone she could love and to be loved back, a place to belong. This book taught us that you don’t need to be blood related to become family. It also, in a round about way, showed us that lying wasn’t necessarily the best or only way. That sometimes, like the old saying goes, the truth will set you free! And that was definitely the case in this story. I also really liked how the author wrapped the storyline up leaving the reader feeling optimistic and hopeful for the future. I found this to be a very enjoyable read and one I would recommend to others. I’d like to thank NetGalley for the arc to read and review. I’m giving this a 4 star rating.

I absolutely loved this book. From the title of the book to the last word in the story I was hooked. Well written. The story line was so easy to follow. I loved learning about Suzanna and the hard childhood she had. Losing a parent at a young age would be difficult on anyone. Her father did not give her the time of day and was always drunk. For her it was easier to tell some lies than have to tell others the truth. But once you start telling lies, they can become bigger and bigger, which is what happened to Suzanna. She knew she needed a better life for herself and her daughter, Annie. Being short on money and needing a meal, she saw an advertised memorial service and decided to drop by just for a meal. The grieving widow though mistook her for her granddaughter who had left many years ago. She though this was a sign from her deceased husband that she reappeared in her life. Ida Parker took right to her and Annie and welcomed them with open arms. Suzanna played along and one lie led to another and she moved in with Ida. She knew it was wrong but she finally had someone who loved her which lessened the darkness of her childhood. Always having a guilty conscious, one day she came clean to Ida about who she really was. You will have to read this great story to see if the truth helped or hurt her more and if she was able to move on in her life. Highly recommend this book.

Bette Lee Crosby's A Million Little Lies is a winner. When your life is bad and you want a do over like Suzanna Duff you will do and say a lot of things out of desperation. Suzanna has an eight year old daughter to think about and she wants a better life for her. When she accidentally stumbles upon that good life it is hard to say no. But the lies and deceit start to add up and Suzanna is at the point where she has to make some difficult choices. Will the truth hurt the people she loves? I would recommend this book for those that like women's contemporary literature and or Southern based fiction.

I've been a fan of Crosby's work for a while and I very much enjoyed A Million Little Lies.

What happens when someone tells too many lies? Will the past eventually catch up you?

Suzanna Duff was an engaging and relatable character. She had a lifetime of hard times. Anyone who has ever fell on hard times will be able to relate with her. Her choices however, were something that I found difficult not to judge.

This book would make for excellent discussion at a book club. There were layers and layers to uncover to the main characters. I'd highly recommend this!

Mrs. Crosby has done it again! This is a wonderful story of forgiveness and redemption. My heart was so drawn into this story that I never wanted it to end. This one is a must read!

For me this review came a bit hard. For someone to live their life as a lie for so long and deceiving those dear to them was a difficult read for me. As a long time reader of Bette Lee’s books, I had to give her 4 stars. Her other characters and the rest of the story was very good. If you can look past the lying (and the title does:mention it) I am sure you will enjoy the book. #AMillionLittleLies #NetGalley

Start over based on lies or stay in the life you have?
I think many of us have thought about running away and starting over at some point Susanne Duff does it with her young daughter in tow. Escaping a past filled with men who belittled her, treated her like she was worthless and humiliated her finding a safe haven in a strangers home is something she never thought she would have. The safe haven is built on lies so how long will it remain safe?
I really enjoyed this book. The characters were rich and full of character -the good, the bad and the ugly. You can sympathize with the character in her need and desire for a new life. My only fault with the book is the ending where two central characters suddenly became better versions of themselves as if only to tie up loss ends. Other then that it’s a great read.
