Would you go to help someone you just witnessed being stabbed?
Of course you would, the least you would do is call the ambulance
But would you be so keen if a few days later, whilst visiting the woman you helped she lets out a blood curdling scream and shouts to anyone that will listen that it was you that ‘did it’

For Jenna, this has happened and now she is awaiting trial for the apparent motiveless stabbing of Charlotte, her hubby is wavering as to wether to believe her and then things start to happen that just dont add up

Jenna is on her own to find out why this has happened to her and just who is Charlotte and why would she hate her so much to go to such lengths to frame her

Exciting in tempo and well done in the 1st person, you could feel the ‘what is happening to me’ and imagine your reaction, I read this book quickly and my interest didn’t wane and wanted to see what the ‘crunch’ was, and when it ‘crunched’ it was believable, not far fetched and made a good story finish with a pleasing if quick end

Jenna had no way of knowing that helping a woman in the park would lead to her life completely unraveling. She's got a secret but is that why Charlotte- the woman she saved - accused her of the assault? This is told from Jenna's point of view and moves back and forth in time so that you will slowly learn what's really gone on in her life. Jenna's family- especially her husband Damien- will make you shake your head. It's twisty and no spoilers but know that you might not like the end. Thanks to Netgalley for the ARC. It's a page turner.

Nothing in this book is as it seems. It starts off innocently with a woman doing her neighborly duty and helping an injured woman in the park, and the twists and turns that follows after that, will make your head spin! This was really another thrilling read by a very talented author that I'm very glad I've been privileged enough to have met.

Jenna is having a bad week. Lily her teenage daughter has been dating an older man. She suspects her husband of being unfaithful. Then one night she saves a woman’s life to then have the woman accuse her of being the attacker the next day. As I said one hell of a bad week!

Jenna is adamant, she didn’t stab that woman. She saved her! Then evidence begins to gather....who is framing Jenna? & why?

I didn’t like Jenna keeping her daughters relationship from her husband but they had a really nice relationship. I also enjoyed the close relationship with Lily. Amelia seemed to be an afterthought which was strange when the rest of the family are so close?

Racing towards the end I couldn’t read fast enough! This book is addicting and I needed to know everything! Exciting twists!

I enjoyed this fast-paced novel. It had a lot of twists and turns and kept me guessing until the very end. I thought the book ended a little abruptly, but overall I really liked it and would definitely recommend it as a fast, fun read. The Accusation begins with our lead character Jenna at the end of a night out and about to take a short cut across a park.

NEVER TAKE A SHORT CUT ACROSS THE PARK, OR DOWN THE ALLEY, OK?! N E V E R!

Right, sorry, where were we. Nothing good ever comes out of taking a shortcut through a dark and deserted part of town - my heart was racing at this point and I nearly put the book down!

Anyway, although she isn't attacked some else is and Jenna run's to help them. Basking in all her good samaritan glory, she later goes to visit the person in hospital only to have them scream the place down and accuse her of being the attacker.

The story then moves to whether people believe her (obviously the police, but also the people who KNOW her, the ones who should instinctively know she couldn't/wouldn't do something like this). 

Definitely a good to be read at a pace to keep the momentum - and recommended to fans of psychological thrillers.

She was a good Samaritan. Walking home after an evening out with friends, Jenna decides to cut through a park, as it always saved several minutes on the walk headed to her home. Hearing the words "Help me!", Jenna runs towards the chilling words. Spotting a woman bleeding on the ground due to an apparent knife wound, Jenna does what comes naturally to her, and that is to render first aid and to call the emergency number. Eventually help arrives and the stranger is taken to the hospital and Jenna heads home.

That should have been the end of matters. However when the victim wakes up she points to Jenna as the person who tried to kill her. How can that be? The woman is a complete stranger to Jenna. To make matters worse, her daughter Lily is not being honest with her, and her relationship with her husband is becoming quite strained. The family problems are fracturing enough, but an attempted murder accusation is beyond imagination.

When I read a book by Victoria Jenkins I know that I am guaranteed a fast-paced read, one full of twists and turns, with drama and angst mixed in. That has been my previous experience and, true to form, The Accusation follows that pattern. This book does not miss a beat. To throw a wrench in the plan for this book, Jenna has her own secrets, thus we have an unreliable narrator. Written in first-person reveals more than one shocking thing about Jenna.

Jenna's home is topsy turvy, then with the accusation, and with her desperate attempts to prove that she is innocent, things completely spiral out of control. With her relationships being called into question, Jenna's past is slowly revealed as the story unfolds, all leading to a shocking conclusion. The Accusation was a thrilling ride from start to finish, and was impossible to put down. I cannot wait to read whatever else Victoria Jenkins has in store.

This was a quick and easy read. It had a good beginning, then kind of dragged, then the pace picked back up again. I myself don't think this is a psychological thriller. The plot is good, but I wasn't at all interested in any of the characters. I didn't care what happened to any of them. As much as you try to guess, it's not easy to figure out what's going on, until it is revealed.

I will definitely read more from Victoria Jenkins in the future.

Such twists and turns!! From the minute she crossed through the park and heard the cry for help her life changed!! When she stopped to help the woman she didn't think she would be the one to be accused of the stabbing!!
A fast moving brilliant read.

The Accusation starts with a bang and draws you in pretty quickly - something which I find really important.

Jenna is walking back through the park on her way back from a social gathering with friends when she hears a woman screaming for help. She sees a shadowed figure fleeing the scene (a man?) and discovers a woman named Charlotte who has been stabbed in the neck. She is bleeding badly and loses consciousness whilst Jenna calls an ambulance in a panic. The ambulance service tell her that Charlotte will be ok - undoubtedly she saved her life.

Recovering from what was already a shocking start to her week, Jenna decides to go and visit Charlotte in hospital, but instead of the thankful greeting she expects, Charlotte starts to scream, accusing Jenna of being her attacker,

When more evidence is found that starts to like Jenna to the crime, she finds herself very quickly facing the prospect of being arrested for something she didn't do and starts a desperate bid to clear her name.

With insights into lots of relationships, including Jennas past, her teenage daughter and the fact her and her husband are slowly drifting apart, this accusation threatens to tear Jenna's family apart.

She may not have stabbed Charlotte, but out there is someone who knows what she DID do in the past, and they are determined to make her pay for it.

Whilst some parts of the plot are a little unbelievable and far fetched (I would have expected some better communication between Jenna and her husband, and people should just call the police when things get difficult), but no crime novel would be complete without a bit of high drama!

I didn't see the end coming, with a real twist at the end and really enjoyed this book.

When Jenna hears the cry in the park one night, she feels she has no choice but to run and help. Cradling the injured woman in her arms, the attacker nowhere to be seen, all Jenna wants is to keep her alive until the ambulance arrives and for the ordeal to be over.

Jenna’s relief turns to horror when the victim blames her for the assault As the case against Jenna grows, her world starts to fall apart. Her teenage daughter is keeping secrets and her husband is growing more distant every day. To save her family and clear her name, Jenna has to prove she didn’t do it.

This book was amazing!! .It's an intriguing plot that pulls you in, as there must be more here than meets the eye. I was engaged throughout the book since I was curious to find out as to why would anyone accuse the person who saved them?

All the characters were well written and I liked how that each of them had a back story which gets revealed during the course of the book to add the extra suspense.

Overall, this was a good read with an interesting twist at the end!!

But why does she do this you wonder.. a whole twist and turning nightmare unpacks and unfolds.

This was such a gripping and a non-stop read for me, it was full of suspense and wonder and got me stuck and hooked from page 1, i really loved Jenna Morgan as a character, I didn't like her mother and Her husband Damien changed.. you will read this very quickly as i did within a day or less! as you will not want to put it down!! and had the whole suspense of what if you get accused for a crime in which you didn't commit..

5 star recommendation definitely well done Victoria Jenkins i loved it so much, my first book to read of hers and i do not regret it i loved it! definitely gonna read your other books! thank you once again!

The story started slowly but soon built up in pace. The characters were ok but I wasnt sure why certain aspects of the story had to be kept a secret from the husband.
Overall a quick read with an interesting premise and I will certainly look to read more of Jenkins books.

She witnesses a stabbing and rushes to help the injured woman. Next day when she visits the woman at the hospital, she is accused of being the culprit. Why is Jenny accused of a crime she did not commit and what part of her past is she trying so hard to keep locked away makes for a twisty read.

My first book by the Author and I did enjoy it

The book opens with Jenna coming to a woman's aid in the park after she has been stabbed. Jenna does all she can to keep her alive until the ambulance arrives. But when she goes to visit Charlotte in hospital when she is recovering, Charlotte accuses Jenna of being the perpetrator. And so the premise of what if an innocent person is accused of assault begins.

I found this a disappointing read. The first half in particular needs a good edit as there is a lot of repetition. I didn't get a sense of place or a feel for any of the characters who were one dimensional at the expense of plot. And when the circumstances of Lily's birth are revealed, I just didn't believe the justification by the protagonist. I could not see why she had to hide this from her husband. Everything is wrapped up at the end to give a happy ending which was also just too neat given the state of the marriage.

When Jenna hears a cry for help in the dark she rushes towards the cry and finds a woman who has been stabbed and stays helping her until the ambulance and police arrive. When she finally arrives home relieved the woman has survived she thinks that’s the end of it but when the woman identifies her as the person who has stabbed her it sets a chain of events off that even her own family start to question her and as it seems she’s being set up will she get to the bottom of why or end up locked up for a crime she did not commit. This was an exciting page turner of a read. It kept me hooked.

Even though this was an enjoyable read it was extremely frustrating and unbelievable in parts !! I was unable to warm to the main character as she just kept keeping secrets when she didn’t really need too ! It’s hard to write my frustrations with this book without giving the plot away however I do think that the police's involvement and actions were extremely unbelievable and would just not happen in ‘real’ life! I also felt the ending was rushed and could’ve been a lot more gripping and I was left with questions and no answers !

Very addictive novel... I couldn’t not put it down. I was actually very sad to see it come to an end! This a must read for anyone who loves. Good thriller!

This was a roller coaster of a book. Started off a little slow, then got better, then a little slow, then big twist, which I didn’t guess so that’s always great, then a good ending. First time I’ve read a book by this author and after reading this, I will definitely be reading more!

This certainly was a fast paced and addictive thriller that had me engrossed from the very first page into the small wee hours!

Jenna is enjoying a girls night out with her two close friends, heading home and going their separate ways Jenna decides to take a short cut through the park, a decision she begins to immediately regret when she stumbles upon a woman in the middle of being attacked, Jenna runs to her aid and saves her life by scaring of the woman's attacker and phoning for help, believing she's done a good deed she tries to think no more of it and move on.

That is until the woman wakes and points the finger at Jenna... but why would this woman do such a thing after Jenna saved her life? Desperate to uncover the truth Jenna has to dig deep and find out why this woman whom she saved would tell such hurtful lies and why her husband is becoming more distant by the day, but can she handle the truth?

This was a delightful, twisty and most certainly addictive thriller which I thoroughly enjoyed until the very last page. My first novel from this author and I can't wait to read her many others. A big thank you to netgalley for a copy of This book in exchange for my honest review.
