Beautiful book and a little punch of inspiration and affirmation in bite size.
Loved this book so much I have actually bought it as a gift and was told it was the perfect gift so that in itself speaks volumes.

I love discovering snippets of inspirational wisdom. Sarah and Alice the Elephant are a magnificent team, delivering daily FEEL GOOD messages in a thoughtful and entertaining way. This book has quickly become my morning go-to that I leave by my favorite reading chair. I know when I pick it up first thing each morning, that my day will be kicked-off with enthusiasm and inspired creativity.

This book is written for 'healers, artist, and helpers' all of which, the author asserts, have magical powers as well as unique challenges.

The author underwent a midlife crisis in her 40s and underwent a transformation from a physician with 20 years experience, to a shamanic healer and life coach. She now works with an elephant spirit guide called Alice and together they have compiled this pretty book of 365 daily inspirations.

The format each day is (1) a theme and reflection from Alice, (2) Sarah's commentary, and (3) a short prayer. The prayer beings "Dear God" but is non-denominational in form and universal in application. Themes range from creativity to meditation, self-love to recovery, and overcoming fear.

Although I read the Kindle edition, I think it would make a nice physical gift for someone who is interested in self-help, daily reflection, meditation or prayer.

The only shortcoming is that there is no February 29th, so you'll have to repeat a page or take a break on 'leap days'.

Thanks to Net Galley for the free digital copy of this book in return for my honest opinion.

If I had heard of this book several years ago I probably would have rolled my eyes. Since a life event shifted my perspective to a more spiritual one however I have become much more open to different beliefs and possibilities.

The book is made up of daily doses of wisdom from the author’s spirit animal, or “core beastie,” Alice The Elephant. Each one is followed by an anecdote from where the author has applied it and what she learned. A question is posed for the reader to consider before a brief prayer ends the passage for the day.

I had no knowledge of shamanic journeys or spirit animals before this book crossed my path but I was curious about what it all meant. Although I read the whole book and noted passages which felt particularly meaningful for my life at the moment, I’m going to start a practise of reading a passage each morning before I start my day. At the very least, the encouragement to meditate is surely a good way to set out your intentions. #howgood #netgalley

I usually like these types of books but this one seemed to be more autobiographical and self centred towards the author rather than a self help. It was very repetitive and I didn’t enjoy it.

This is one of the most unique books I've encountered. Thank you #NetGalley for an ARC. I look forward to reading the book in print and giving it as a gift.

This a fun and quick way to receive a daily dose of creativity and inspiration. And your guide through this journey is a sassy elephant by the name of Alice! Each day there is a brief paragraph from Alice followed by an explanation and a reflective question from the author. I'm not a religious person, so the prayers for each day weren't that important to me. If it's not your thing, they are located at the bottom of the bag and can be skipped. If your finding yourself in a rut, this book might help inspire you. Takes no more than a minute or two to read the thought of the day, then your off to take on the day!

I received a free e-ARC from Netgalley and the publisher in exchange for a review.
