Hal had always had the worst of luck when it came to keeping a job with her clumsiness. As a result, she would disappear into the other world of books, finding refuge in characters—much like I and avid bookworms would do. This immediately piqued my interest being bookish myself, which was part of the draw of this romance novel.

Hal’s luck shifts when she wins ownership of her favorite bookshop, complete with flat, goldfish, and heaps of small business issues to oversee. An additional surprise is Dimitri, the cute illustrator who daily loiters within the shop continuing his fantastical art. The two are appalled that a devious developer wishes to buy off and convert the town’s shops into another tacky tourist scheme.

An idea arises to use the stories and love notes penned in the inside covers of secondhand books to draw attention to the store on social media. Who wouldn’t want to follow stories of high school crushes reunited, adults looking back on childhood favorites? (Of course, all those who cherish secondhand bookstores know the joy of opening covers to look for those little bits of history.)

This was definitely your cliche romance, but was to be expected with the premise. I appreciated the bookworm fancies throughout the novel and the charm of Dimitri and only wish I could have a love story bookstore of my own.

Thank you Netgalley and publishers for the ARC.

Eternally unlucky and accident-prone Hallie gets the shock of her life when she wins a raffle and the prize is none other than her favourite bookshop. Completely overwhelmed by the task of running a business and with a local property developer hassling her, Hallie finds help in Dimitri. He is a local artist who using a rare copy of a book to base his illustrations on. Could something more than friends be on the cards?

Hallie and Dimitri’s relationship is so sweet from the off. They immediately click and form a friendship that quickly leads to the pull of wanting something more. If you like a romance with two adorable slightly bumbling characters falling in love than this would be prefect.

The Little Bookshop of Love Stories is a sweet, wholesome, feel good romance and an absolute must read for anyone who loves this genre!

This was a perfect book for booklovers. It was so incredibly relatable - especially with the introverted bookworm as the main girl. I loved the premise, connected with the characters, and overall quite enjoyed the book.

Another book about books! These are my sweet spot, and this one was perfectly enjoyable, if not a little too typical. Cozy, set in a British bookstore, and full of loveable characters, this one is in the same vein as The Bookshop on the Corner and How to Find Love in a Bookshop, but just not QUITE as good. Worth reading for when you need something comforting and easy to read!

Jaimie Admans is one of my go-to authors, I just know when I pick up one of her books that I’m going to enjoy it. Which is why I’m surprised it has taken me so long to getting round to reading this one, especially since books and bookshops are my happy place, but I’m also glad that I read it this week because I really needed a pick me up and this book was the perfect antidote.

When I was little I would read fairytales and wish for them to be true and this book feels like my version of a fairytale that I want to come true. I don’t think I’ve ever wanted to be a character more than I have wanted to be Hallie, winning a bookshop and getting to hang out with someone all day who loves books as much as she does, even with the worries and the dreadful Drake I would swap places in a heartbeat.

I’m sure I don’t really need to say it but I will anyway, I loved this book, it was the perfect mix of happiness and escapism that I was looking for. The love stories were fantastic as well, I wouldn’t be surprised to find myself looking in covers of second-hand books in the future to see if I can find any myself, but I did quite like that they didn’t all have happy endings.

Hallie was lovely, even though she feels a little out of her depth in the bookshop at first I loved that her passion and imagination soon shone through. One of the things I really enjoyed was her relationship with her mother, it was so funny, there were a good few one-liners in reaction to her mother’s meddling that had me laughing out loud.

I also loved the chemistry between Hallie and Dimitri, the way they bounce off each other and always have something funny or witty to say. I liked that Dimitri is kind of part of the furniture that comes with the shop and that he really lifts Hallie’s confidence when she has new ideas. He is a bit enigmatic at times which I found interesting because it was so different to his usual demeanour but ultimately a brilliant book boyfriend.

This book has definitely brightened my week, I loved getting lost in its pages, and I’m already looking forward to reading Jaimie Admans next book.

Too quirky for me. Not only a main character who can't keep her own feet under her but the love interest too?? Also, books that try to relate to readers too much never work for me.

Talk about a novel perfect for book lovers!

This was the coziest of reads with the setting of a small British Bookshop located in a small town mixed with the literary references throughout the story. Between the characters, it fully captured the love of reading along with the vulnerabilities that can come along with it as an introvert.

Even though the story does include a cute romance, I think the obvious love for literature was the true takeaway that I took away from this novel. There's a magic that comes along with books and reading and this story helped capture that feeling.

This was a warmhearted and cozy read that spoke to my heart and my love of reading.

I was fortunate enough to receive a copy of this book to read from Netgalley.

This is ultimately a feel good book about book shops and book lovers. The main character is a lover of romance books and wins a book shop in a raffle. The book is largely about her struggle to run the shop and to find ways to attract the people in the town to come visit. She slowly becomes a part of the town's community and eventually falls in love.

If you are looking for a casual read that makes you feel warm and happy inside, this book is for you!

I absolutely adored this book. Hallie is the exact same person as me, clumsy and loving with a lifelong penchant for books. Any bookworm will find themselves right at home in the pages of this book.

I loved Dimitri, and the reference to one of my favoruite childhood films was a lovely surprise to see. Yes, of course, I did immediately think "Anastasia" when I first read his name.

It's a very sweet love story, and the love notes hidden in each book is a lovely addition. It's the perfect cosy autumn read, and I'm so glad I've had the chance to read it.

This is one of those warm and happy tales that will leave you feeling all fuzzy inside well-after the last page is done (which for me was actually a few months ago!). Heartwarming with just enough quirkiness to leave you grinning like a mad fool, it is the perfect cozy romantic read! It could easily become a perennial favourite when you need a dose of lighthearted, sweet romance.

I received a complimentary copy of this title via NetGalley. Opinions expressed are my own.

Sadly it didn’t do it for me. The main character annoyed me from the outset and therefore I didn’t have much sympathy for her at all.

I love stories about books and bookshops, and so when I saw this book in Netgalley I simply had to read it. I was so excited when I was approved. Amazing characters, a sweet story and my favorite setting made this an entertaining read even though it was pretty predictable. I absolutely enjoyed this book. Thanks to Netgalley and the publisher, HQ Digital, for providing me with an ARC of this book.

Okay, firstly I have to reiterate OH MY GOODNESS! I don't think I'm capable of writing a structured review for this book, I think I'm just going to say various lines about how good it is and how it made me feel. Will that suffice?? Well, it's going to have to, because my brain can't form any coherent type of normal review for this story, it's a just a fuzzy, giddy, happy book dance kind of jumble. So, here are some thoughts I had while reading:

I would really like a bookshop!

I need to help Hallie sort out those shelves and do the window display.

Who is this guy, that's just stumbled into the shop and why do I immediately LOVE him!?

Guys! I want a bookshop!

How does someone come up with such good ideas and write them so brilliantly?

I kid you not, I need a movie of this book for Dimitri alone!

I adore Hallie and how much she loves books.

So many laugh out loud moments.

Seriously. Dimitri! *Searches Pinterest for pictures that could remotely do him justice.*

Ooh I'm loving all the intrigue to these notes and their owners.

Opening day and Dimitri's bookish gifts sound amazing!

Jaimie literally gets why people love books and what's so special about them spot on!

Robert is so lovely, he ties things together perfectly!

Hallie talking about her Mum's cooking is making me laugh so hard!

There's got to be some kind of record for how many times one can swoon over a book character. If there is, I'm like 110% certain I've broken that record while reading this story.

I love it, I love it, I LOVE IT!!!

This book needs to be a movie. I need to see it!

In all seriousness, I can't even begin to explain how this book made me feel. There's something so warm and wonderful about the way Jaimie writes, with so many laughs thrown in. I don't know how she does it! I urge you to pick up a copy of 'The Little Bookshop of Love Stories,' and I guarantee you will fall for each and every character, some more than others, 'Ahem, Dimitri!'

It's a bookworms dream concept and you can feel that weaved through every page. I wish I'd highlighted certain sentences - I always think I'll remember them - because Jaimie just gets it. It's so beautifully done. Be sure to pick up a copy today. You will love it!!
