First in a new series. Emory Gosser Martinez (Em) is not having a pleasant time. She discovers that her husband and best friend betrayed her. Not only is she hurt but she makes some bad decisions based on her anger. She becomes the prime suspect and it is hard to see a way out for her.

I liked it but I hope in future installments she doesn’t seem as flighty and undependable as she did in this story. I see a lot of potential for the character. I liked her twin sister and how Em does help her out in the catering business.

The loss of her best friend didn’t seem like such a big loss in the long run. There were some interesting twists and turns and the who did it may surprise you.

Looking forward to the next installment. Added bonus a few recipes in the back of the book.

Emory Martinez’s life begins to spiral out of control when she wakes up on the floor of her guest bathroom with no memory of how she got there and little memory of what happened the night before. Things only get worse from there. Her suspicions of her husband’s cheating are confirmed when she finds him with her best friend, she’s fired, accused of blackmail and finally becomes the primary suspect in her best friend’s murder.

This is pretty much your typical cozy mystery. Character development was good and Emory is a likable character even though she’s frequently described as naive and clueless There is room for her to grow and we’re shown a hint of that as the story progresses and I’m hoping that future installments will continue this trend.

I enjoyed this book and look forward to seeing where the series goes.

This is one of those cute little cozy mysteries. It pretty much follows the cookie cutter pattern for such novels. As you can probably tell from the title, it deals a lot with food and offer some recipes at the end of the book. Well the story was OK, I wasn’t a big fan of the heroine. She was portrayed as being extremely naïve and gullible and that just didn’t sit right with me. Overall, this was just your average cozy mystery.

This book was the first in the series. I was getting worried when Emory wasn't catching any breaks but thankfully there is a happy ending.

It was somewhat unbelievable to me that someone could lose everything so quickly but Emory showed resilience that I found believable.

Interesting characters that I look forward to seeing how they grow in the next book. There also some yummy recipes included as well.

I'm looking forward to the next one in the series.

Our main character Emory is being charged with the murder of her ex-best friend. She was the last one to see her alive and just so happened to have a major cat fight with her outside her home. So of course she looks guilty. Was she framed? Was it all planned? We follow Emory as she fights to prove her innocence by taking matters into her own hands.
This was such a fun and fast paced read. It had excitement, a little romance and lots of mentioning of cupcakes. Who doesn’t love cupcakes! 🧁 Our main character Emory is easily likable and makes you want to be BFF’s.
The only thing I didn’t like about the book was her mother, she just rubbed me the wrong way. Seemed like a snooty rich old lady.

Sprinkles of Suspicion is a cozy Murder mystery which isn’t usually my cup of tea. But I did enjoy this book. It moved quickly and had lots of yummy food ideas. What bothered me was not seeing any growth in the characters. Emory was in this situation because she was naive and she continued to be naive to the end. Her mom was a bully and many of her actions were not explained very well. I did love the sassy Tillie! I could probably read a whole series with her as the main character!

Ms. Davis' twisted little cozy is heaps of fun.

She wakes up after passing out with a hickey on her neck. Desperate to find out what happened she runs to her friend Tori, the one she'd gone out with, only to see her having sex on the couch with Emory's husband.
They get into a confrontation on the front lawn and the police are called.
When she goes back to mend fences, she finds her dead and becomes the lead suspect when she calls 911.
Her husband blames her for finding out that he was cheating and moves out. Determined to find out who killed her and clear her name, she finds out more than she ever wanted to know.
The last person she thought would support her, her mother, turns out to be a godsend, once she convinces her that he isn't the perfect son-in-law she thought he was.
This tale has Emory in a maelstrom of confusing information, turning her perceptions upside down and brings Emory to a perfect place in her life at the end.
It also has some delightful sounding recipes included.

This book is full of mystery and many problems, do not imagine that the plot was going to be that, I base myself on the cover of the puppy hahaha but I will not lie, I fascinate from start to finish and recipes wow, this gives you a lot of plus, thanks for the opportunity to read this ARC.

Sprinkles of Suspicion (Cupcake Catering Mystery, #1) by Kim Davis is the first book in a new series.

I enjoyed reading this book. There were several interesting characters and nuances to the storyline. One favorite character was Tillie, even though she had a very small part in the book, but she was quite feisty and straight forward in her demeanor. I hope to see more of her in future books.

I liked the main character, Emory, and I felt she was a solid character who did not make any unnecessary or silly decisions or moves that often occur in cozy mysteries.

The one character that I did not like was Emory's mother, but I believe it was written that way to show how Emory evolves during the story. The mother was intrusive and didn't listen, but she was helpful at a crucial time.

The mystery in Sprinkles of Suspicion was done so well. I had no clue who was involved or how it would turn out.

Piper, the dog, was a nice addition. And the recipes at the end of the book sound so yummy!

I am looking forward to more books in this series and from this author.

I really enjoyed this very easy romance/ mystery novel. The writing was fun and fast paced. It sounds like it is the first in a series and I will definitely look out for the 2nd book. Tillie sounds like she will be a real fun character.

A love a cosy mystery book and this one was really very good.

The mystery aspect was well written and kept me guessing until the end. There is so much going on this book that the story never felt slow and kept me wanting more!

Um......I've seen meringues with more substance than this book.

This was a falling souffle from the start, and what's worse I kept reading to see if it got better, and it didn't.

The main character was just terrible. She was all marshmallow fluff. A stiff wind could have blown her over, and in the middle of her crisis her sister is more worried about a dinner party than her sister's marriage falling apart and her best friend being the reason. Seems like no sisterly love lost there.

The plot was all over the place, nothing making sense and nothing landing and making an impact. And just when we get to an actual good plot point WHAM! Cupcake time!! So all the momentum that was built up is lost in an avalanche of sprinkles and frosting.

The only good thing about this book is the baked goods.

An cute cozy filled with quirky characters and a strong protagonist. I found a few parts a little far fetched, but overall this is a fun story.

Emory is newly separated, newly unemployed, and newly accused of murder. As she tries to find her new normal, she realizes that she never actually knew Tori.

So many people could be the killer in this book. It is light and engaging, and it will keep you guessing.

This is a fun cozy read that kept me guessing throughout. I also liked the added interest of baking. Sometimes it was a bit unrealistic but all in all a very enjoyable book.

Emory gets hit with a lot of life changing situations in one day. All of a sudden she is the person of interest in the murder of her friend. One thing I enjoyed about this book was all of the creative cupcake flavors and the baking sessions. I thought the mystery was pretty decent although the ending felt a little too easy. I didn’t care for how Emory was written to be so naive and let everyone walk on top of her, including her mother. Towards the end, it felt like she was starting to stand up for herself so I hope that continues in the next book. Thank you NetGalley and the publisher, all opinions are my own.

I enjoyed this book—I thought for a light, fun mystery it worked well. The lead character was a bit naive, but that happens a lot in series like this to propel the story. I liked where the character ended up by the end and would definitely read more in the series..

This is a little more gritty than the cozies I've read. It was kinda refreshing. I liked Emory. One thing after another was thrown at her and she persevered. Some of the goodies she baked sounded delicious - there's lots of recipes included! It was interesting to dig up Tori's past. An entertaining read and a good start to a new series. I look forward to reading book number two!
