The rebirth saga is a complex fantasy series, filled with rich world-building and complex characters, this series took me on a journey.

Summary:
You have a choice. If you had the opportunity to lose all the pain in your past would you? The consequence being you also lose all the joy from your past alongside it.

18 year old Dayanara encounters the mysterious Dorian and becomes embroiled in a secret war that has been waged in the shadows. Dorian has the ability to burn- a Phoenix- and forget all the pain and joy of his past. But the true question in this., do you burn or hold on to all the memories and the pain they bring.

I will admit i was really intrigued when i saw the vague description of this story on NetGalley and decided to give it a try. Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for approving my request!

Positives:

The plot to this story was so good. It has so many twists, turns and cliffhangers. By the time they registered in my brain the next big event was hitting me. This made for a fast paced action story with a hint of mystery and romance that left me breathless at some points.

The characters in this story were all very well developed. I will admit I personally enjoyed the side characters within the story compared to Dayanara and Dorian, but i think it's because with such a complex world and some serious discussions they brought some light- hearted comedy relief needed to bring the story alive.

The world building is a divisive topic for me. I love a well developed world full of lore and history, and this series does just that! Pyrros' is a true masterpiece of a land, and I loved learning the history and difference between the races within the story.

I will give the fast paced writing style a massive positive! Reading through and seeing the writing style develop from the author is always something I enjoy and this series definitely showcases this!

Negatives:
On the flip side of the world-building, sometimes the history confused me and I had to re-read it a few times to fully understand it. At some points, particularly in the first book, there was so much information being thrown at such a fast pace I struggled to keep up and occasionally felt overwhelmed. At this point I would have to take some serious breaks and read something else to prevent myself hitting a slump, but I can definitely see this as a positive for people who love reading books fully based around seriously complex history and world-building above all else, it was just a tiny bit too much for me.

Summary:
A genuinely enjoyable series with so much history and heart it will have you feeling every emotion under the sun. For fans of deep history, fantasy and complex characters, I would definitely recommend you try it if the description interests you!

I received a copy of this series from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

I just finished this saga, consisting of four books. The Rebirth Saga is about Phoenixes. I love mythology so when I heard it was about the mythological creatures, I knew I had to read it. I felt like I flew through the four books. The first book was our introduction to the Phoenixes and the nature healers. I found myself wondering if I would prefer to be a self healer or a nature healer and both of them have such awesome powers. This saga is ultimately a love story and a thrilling battle between good and evil. The pace was a mix of fast and slower, but just at the right time. This is a story I will be thinking about for a long time. It's filled with action, mystery, intrigue, and both heartbreak and happiness. I would definitely recommend this book if you love a good fantasy involving some mythological creatures. Cianci does a wonderful job with this unique spin on Phoenixes.

This was definitely an unique read for me. I was extremely pissed off by the way the villagers treated Dayanara. That’s good that I felt bad for her but then at the same time I disliked the book. It just wouldn’t end. In a bad way, usually if I live the characters and storyline then it’s always the longer the better. I did not like Dorian at all. Sort of obvious that the “big change” of the story was occurring when Dayanara too the “big step” to change the usual discourse of life there. This was all in all an disappointing read for me.
