Juliet and Michael are struggling with their relationship so together with their two children Sybil and George they take off in their boat to sail around the Caribbean for a year, this book trials their relationships up and downs, their ever expanding nautical knowledge and skills and the places they visit en route! Told by Juliette and by Michael’s sea log we discover how each had been feeling juliet with her post Natal depression and Michael with his gender specific role as main wage earner, the year however doesn’t pan out as expected and dreams are shattered as tragedy strikes! Raw and harrowing in places as the challenges of parenthood,mental health, living in a confined space and marriage are reflected upon.
A very different read for me that wasn’t quite what I expected it to be!
