Strawberry farms bring back a lot of fond memories for me. My grandparents used to take my sister and me strawberry picking as children, back when pick your own farms were much more common. It was a great way to spend a couple of hours, although I was better at it than my sister. She used to eat as many as she put in the basket. If they had weighed my sister before and after we went in, my grandparents would have gone bankrupt. :)

However, I digress with those lovely memories and on to this book. I confess it's taken me a long time to write this review, so much so that I can't remember what I knocked a star off for now. The setting was delightful, what I imagine a real country farm to feel like, although rather than the traditional farm fare of eggs, milk, crops etc taking centre stage, the heart of all the food dishes were strawberries. From jams to desserts, they all sounded so good I could almost taste them.

The cast of characters is large and diverse from Kiwi Matt, one of the seasonal pickers to glamourous Amethyst the movie star. The family are a great mix of traditional and somewhat backwards-thinking grandfather and father to Hannah's sweet mother and wise old grandmother. Then of course there is Grey, Hannah's childhood sweetheart and the man she left behind. The summer throws the two of them together again and it's great to read how the two of them learn to accept the past and love each other again. Both characters learn to see past their small world and find ways to let each other into their lives.

Again there must have been a reason for the lack of 5 stars but I can't remember what. Maybe a re-read is in order if I can find the time. There are so many of Kellie Hailes book's I've yet to read.

Well it's the sign of a good author when you spend most of the book wanting to bash the two main characters heads together repeatedly until they see sense. As after all I cared that much about their happiness, it was driving me just slightly demented that they couldn't quite work it out for themselves!

And I really enjoyed the descriptions of the Strawberry farm and how it worked, and the way it celebrates at the end of picking season. I was interested in the family dynamics of Hannah's family and how they acted towards her. Hannah and Grey though as much as I did enjoy reading about them, I didn't completely mesh with either of them.

In fact my favourite characters were Mr "flirts with everything" Matt, who is one of the strawberry pickers being used this season, who is a breath of fresh air whenever he cropped up. And I also loved Amethyst, Hannah's best friend, and movie star, who is rather down to earth. and just such a warm character and she added a great dimension to the stilted family dynamics once she came to start on the farm.

It's a truly lovely story that evoked the feelings of summer, of strawberry picking while having main characters whose minds are set, you have to wonder whether they they will ever get together, not to mention whether Hannah will ever feel as though she is a valued member of the family or not.

Thank you to Orion Dash and Netgalley for this copy which I have reviewed honestly and voluntarily.

This book is everything you would expect from a romance novel. Boy and girl reunite after years apart, should they shouldn’t they get back together, spanner thrown into the works. You get the idea. But this book is so well written that you feel you are there living this story with them. The descriptions of the strawberry farm and the characters make it seem so real. You want to give the sympathy when they are sad and shout at them when they are being silly. All in all a lovely summery read.

An easy read, it was a bit predictable. Nice romantic light-hearted novel.

Thank you NetGalley for my complimentary copy in return for my honest review.

I'll try to keep this short and sweet, as the book itself was.

Firstly I'm going to stress out that it took me more then 2 months to finish this novel, so therefore, even though I think this was good book, I can't rate it higher. I guess it didn't keep my attention and for one, I blame my own lack of concentration and lack of time because I have to take care of my baby whole the time, an second, I guess the writing wasn't that captivating, even if I do think it was well written.

This is a romance (but on a women's fiction side) with second chance trope.

I think it was well done when it comes to romance part, and also small town setting was done right.
However, I didn't enjoy family aspect, and I know my opinion doesn't really matter, but I'll say it anyway: I think Kellie Hailes has potential to write really good romance in it's full meaning. I mean real romance, swoon worthy and smutty.
But anyway, back to review...

I loved how the story wrapped up, or I should say, the way it was wrapping up.
It touched subject in the story and dared to take a different way to reach a happy ending, and I appreciate it.
I even wish it went all there, but it didn't.
Still, it was a good, refreshing way to have happily ever after.

This is the first book of Kellie’s that I have read. A bit predictable but still a nice easy read. Thanks for my early copy.

Wow! That is a very lovely romance! Oh I loved it! Everything in this book is lovely, the setting (in a strawberry farm), the characters (even if sometimes some are really stubborn and that you want to shake them), and the story in itself. This book is all about difficult relationship you can have with your family and how you would like to make them always proud of you. It's about forgiveness and reinventing yourself. It's about love too (and gosh, I love the main male character Grey!!! He is lovely!). I recommend this book! 4 stars out of 5 for me!

Sunrise at Strawberry Farm quite literally jumped out at me to be read with the power of one word. Strawberry. I love them and so to read a story set on a Strawberry Farm really appealed to me, especially a romance.
Hannah has to face up to her past mistakes and fix some broken hearts as she returns to Strawberry Farm. One of those hearts is Grey's and they end up working side by side as they organise the Betty's annual Strawberry Festival. Grey has locked his heart away after being hurt once before but now, as Hannah returns will he also be able to work through his issues and move forward to ensure the Strawberry Farm has a successful year.
The time I spent on the Beety's Strawberry Farm was amazing. The descriptions in this book brought to life the feelings of walking amongst the strawberries, feeling the sunshine on your face and the taste of the strawberries as you popped one in your mouth, although for me it wouldn't just stop at one.
The characters were brought to life really well too. Grey sounded amazing. I could quite imagine relaxing outside the farm shop eating a strawberry ice cream watching him at work. I adored Hannah to and could totally relate to her and all the emotions she is experiencing since coming back to the farm.
A perfect summer read.

Enjoyable read. Would recommend to friends and family. I could sympathise with characters (important for any fiction novel!) and looked forward to picking it up and reading the next few chapters! Interesting plot line and a good ending. Will look out for more novels by the author. Thank you.

A second chance romance for Hannah and Grey.

She fled her family farm, and Grey, 10 years ago and hasn't been back very much since. Now her mother is ill so she is back to help out for 3 weeks. Can she convince them now that she would have done a good job taking over the family farm?

Loved the setting on the strawberry farm!

A new author for me, but the title and lovely cover drew me in!a great summery read just perfect for this time of year!
Hannah and grey have lots of history together, growing up side by side they were inseparable and deeply in love until Hannah decided to leave Cornwall and the strawberry farm and head to the bright lights of London! Ten years later Hannah is called home as her mother is ill and they need help on the farm! Three weeks on the farm where Hannah tries to prove herself as a worthy strawberry farmer and despite their best efforts not to, grey and Hannah become friends once more! Although the course of true love doesn’t run smoothly and once more Hannah frees to London! However the epilogue tells of a perfect happy ever after! Would love to see a sequel to this book!
Thank you net galley for this early read.

A light hearted, easy to get absorbed in story. Absolutely perfect anytime of the year, but to read it as the sun is shining, you can get lost in the moment and can almost taste the sun drenched strawberries being picked by the characters.

Hug in a book romance, absolutely adorable and I loved it so much. These romances are keeping me going at the moment, I need happy, light and romantic, a safe place to be and that’s what this book is. The characters are so cute, you want to move in to the village yourself. I was completely drawn in and had a bit of a wobble towards the end when I thought things were going wrong for Hannah, that’s how I know it’s sucked me in when I get anxious. Anyway no spoilers, just a fabulous summer read, full of the happy stuff we all need.

This was a book I was very excited to read. It's a story of a family rebuilding relationships after a major case of miscommunication. Hannah a highly sought after make up artist returns to the family farm to help with the harvest when her mum falls I'll. This involves working with her first love Grey. All Hannah's family and grey have their own preconceptions, can they move past this to regenerate the damaged relationships. This was a lively read you really could see everyone's side and really wanted them all to come to a happy conclusions. A wonderful way to spend an afternoon.

Another delightful offering from Kellie.

Hannah has returned to her family farm to help out while her mother is unwell. While there she crosses paths with her old teenage love Grey. Well more than just crosses paths... Grey is working for her family and Hannah finds herself working quite closely with him.

The setting of the Strawberry farm along with the mix of Hannahs usual career as a makeup artist is a good one.

This book has everything you need in a cozy romance, intrigue, interesting characters, a will they wont they vibe and lots and lots of love.

This is a solid 4 star book and I look forward to more from this author.

This book was so cute just as I expected it’s actually so wholesome. Absolutely adored the setting of the farm in Cornwall was a nice choice, I liked the idea of Hannah being a makeup artist and the setting of London was described well. The characters were all likeable, I found Hannah abit irritating in some places I thought her attitude was quite annoying but overall she was super kind, Grey was a great guy really liked his ways. The epilogue was everything I wanted and I’m glad it happened. Really recommend this book for a quick summer read.

It's always a pleasure to read Kellie Hailes' books and this one was no exception.
It's a sweet and entertaining story that made me smile and root for the characters.
The plot flows and it's engrossing, the characters are well thought and lovely and the general atmosphere of the book is pleasant.
I loved what I read and I strongly recommend it.
Many thanks to the publisher and Netgalley for this ARC, all opinions are mine.

Another first for me coming across this author!
I was drawn in by the front cover - knew it would be the perfect read while I was stuck indoors.
Very likeable storyline and characters, but I strangely felt very emotional towards the end of this book when Hannah left for the second time - I literally felt her pain so obviously got sucked into the character and storyline more than I realised.
Never have I wanted a happy ending quite so much for a character in a book!
