First of all I want to say this book has a beautiful cover. The story itself is sweet and great as a summer read. The descriptions of strawberries and the associated strawberry based recipes will have you heading for the greengrocers to buy your own juicy strawberries. However, I won't totally sold on the characters. found Hannah to be very immature and needy and her constant need for acknowledgment and then sulking when she didn't get it was grating at times and I wasn't overly convinced that Hannah and Grey belonged together so the epilogue was probably needed as when reading the last chapter I gave them three months at best. However, I loved Amethyst and Matt and was totally sold on their relationship even though it was a sub-plot. Enjoyable? Yes Would I abandon all tasks just to read one more chapter? Sadly not.

This is the first Kellie Hailes book that I have read and was not disappointed. The story revolves around Hannah and Grey who had been in a serious relationship years before and then Hannah had gone off leaving Grey. Hannah returns to help out at the farm when her mother became ill but has to face the man from her past. Will they get back together again? A lovely summer romance by this author.

4 – "You’re welcome here anytime…" Stars!

I love getting my hands on a new Kellie Hailes book, she always takes me to a place where I want to stay, and introduces me to characters I want to spend more time with, and that was absolutely the case with Sunrise at Strawberry Farm.

All three generation of the Beety family were easy to get along with and I loved getting lost in the strawberry fields as well as Hannah and Grey’s reconnection after ten years, especially as she left without a goodbye, and without giving her reasons for her going in the first place.

If only he could close his eyes forever to the feelings she stirred in him. To the memories of the past. To the hopes he’d once held for their future…

I loved the secondary characters in this one too, and all-in all it was a well-rounded story, perfectly pitched to read this summer, or to take yourself away to the summer if you are stuck indoors on a grim day, the book will leave you feeling all warm and happy, its like summer in your hands!

Another absolutely fantastic read by a highly talented author. This is one which has been completely impossible to put down and I have devoured this in just one sitting.

I have read and enjoyed previous books by Kellie Hailes, and so I was eager to read this. I loved the cover of this book, and it seemed like a perfect Summer read.
I loved the characters of Hannah, Amethyst and Matt. I did not warm to the character of Grey however. I felt that he was instrumental in making Hannah feel unwelcome and unwanted in her family home and her family's business. Usually my opinion of the romantic lead changes throughout the book, but unfortunately my opinion of Grey did not change, I still did not like him.
This book was an easygoing and heartwarming read. I loved reading about the farm, and it made me wish that I had some strawberries to eat. The setting was idyllic and very summery.
It is an enjoyable and lighthearted read, perfect escapism for difficult times.

I have mixed feelings about this book. I picked it because of the beautiful cover, and the strawberries. I was assuming it to be my usual lighthearted romance fare. However, it was rather more emotional than that.

The story was well written and thought out, but it definitely needed the epilogue to finish it off. I didn’t really take to Grey, and the fact that he was still not listening to Hannah, and was still dismissive of her feelings, at 80% of the way through, made me feel like they might not be a good match. I didn’t feel the same sense of satisfaction at the happy ending that I usually do. I also felt that the family aspect wasn’t properly resolved, that Hannah’s family really should have told her she was wanted and needed at some point.

In spite of the fact that I’ve talked at length about what I didn’t like about this book, it is well written, the majority of the characters are likeable, the setting is lovely, and the plot believable. It’s just not quite my cup of tea, as things were not resolved to my satisfaction. I’d recommend it to people looking for a slightly more emotional summer romance.

I was given a free copy of this book. My opinions are my own.

My thoughts
I read this book as part of my 100 pages a day challenge! And I'm glad this was the first arc I chose to read this month as it was a nice light summery read and had me escaping to the strawberry farm and working alongside Hannah.
This boom made me feel like I was alongside all the characters and I loved each one and the way Kellie wrote them made me feel like I knew them personally. The ongoing and great friendship between Hannah and Ams was a real one and not a fake one between make up artist and famous actress. The new friendship between Hannah and made me wonder if it will blossom into anything more? And who could not love the reunion of Hannah and Grey when they a attached to each others hips all them years ago.

This book will have you finding out what made Hannah flee to London, always looking for approval and the will they won't they romance between the two love birds?

Also, I loved the ending of the book as it was such a cute round up of all the characters being together and even some new younger ones🤐

The whole time read this book, it had me wishing I was eating all the yummy strawberry foods mentioned in the book from scones with homemade jam to strawberry ice cream.

This was the first book I've read of Kellie's and I known I will defiantly be reading her other books (once I find them on my bookshelves)

Thanks to netgalley for the chance to read this book.

Another great book from Kellie.

Hannah returns to her family’s strawberry farm in Cornwall when her mom falls ill after 10 years feeling that she wasn’t wanted there. She falls in love again with her childhood sweetheart Grey , but things start to get difficult and she ups and leaves again.

Can Grey convince her she is needed by him and her family or will she stay in London.

Light hearted and a perfect read for a summer holiday - you can almost taste the strawberries pictured so vividly in the pages. I flew through this book in two days and was pleasantly drawn into a world of farming and friendship. Hannah is a sensitive soul who you find yourself immediately routing for from the outset. Thoroughly enjoyed from start to finish!

Thank you to the publishers and Netgalley for an early copy.

Hannah leaves home after hearing her dad having doubts about her managing the farm.
She returns when her mom is not well and receives mixed welcomes from her family and boyfriend.
Hannah helps out with the picking with other pickers and also planning the festival with Grey whose made it clear that he doesn’t want to discuss what happened in the past..
Then one of the celebrities she does makeup for comes to visit whilst doing a photo shoot.
Whilst Hannah tries to do her best with the strawberry picking, and festival preparations, Grey begins to see why she left like she did and at the end of picking season party orchestrates it for her and her dad to clear the air. It comes clear that Hannah only heard part of the conversation, so misunderstandings are cleared.
At the festival, Hannah asks everyone in her family if she can help but everyone says no, she feels, that now her moms better she’s not needed, even when her dad thanks her for coming to help. She decides to leave, and does so without saying goodbye to family and Grey not understanding her again.
Back in her job, she’s not happy, and her client tells her to go home after she explains what happened when she went home.
But at the station Grey, whose also come to see her, sees her and they clear the air.
What happens when Hannah and Grey went back to the farm, was really lovely reading and a fabulous ending.
Recommend it.
