This is the third in the DC Maggie Jamieson series. Dead Perfect is the third book in the series but can be read as a standalone. It refers to a previously solved case at times but I could understand the story without missing anything significant.

The murder victim has been disfigured; her outfit changed to resemble Maggie’s friend, Dr. Kate Moloney. Also, Kate’s life is being threatened by a stalker. This is a dark and creepy thriller full of twists and suspense. It is a police procedural for most parts, but the story often takes a dark turn. I love Noelle's writing style, she keeps her readers engrossed, so much that you never see the twists coming. The writing is crisp and clear and the character were all developed. Though I missed most of Maggie’s character development from the previous books, she didn’t feel like a stranger to me. This book manages to add layers with personal tracks of the main characters but it’s still better paced than most police procedurals.

I particularly enjoyed the characters in this novel, the lead character Maggie Jamieson, her friendship with Kate, as well as the feelings she has for her friend. . Holten manages to get into the psyche of the killer which gave an authentic edge to the story. Maggie is a straight talker, no-nonsense personality, and professional but not cold, in fact quite passionate. With an added level of personal interest in the case, the stakes are even higher for her. I loved a look at Maggie’s personal life as well as in her working one. The author makes you feel involved with the characters and care about them.

Overall, Dead Perfect is a good police procedural novel with some very good characters. It’s a fast-paced read that's full of twists and surprises. If you enjoy police procedurals, you will enjoy this one.

This is the third book in the DC Maggie Jamieson series and what an absolute cracker of a read this was. This book had me hooked from the first chapter. I couldn’t turn the pages quick enough to find out what was going on. Who the perpetrator was I had no clue and I love that in a book, the fact you’re left guessing until the end. An action packed detective thriller with a few red herrings to keep the reader on their toes ! I would recommend reading this series in order to get to know the characters and their backgrounds. Another thing I love about this series is the way the author finishes each book feeding us with some interesting information as to what is going to happen in the next book in the series.

I was so excited to read Dead Wrong after reading Noelle’s first two in the series. I remember reading Dead Inside last year on a train journey and it was one of those books once I had started I could not put down. I am pleased to report Dead Perfect had all the same addictive and compelling properties. I found myself sneaking a few pages wherever I could as I was that desperate to get to the bottom of the mysterious killer.

The intricate plot is exquisitely planned out and is so finely interwoven with many strings going several different ways.

The pace is kept up from start to finish, which is a hard thing to do with a book as lengthy as this, but it grabbed me from the beginning, sinking it’s claws in and not letting go till the end. The intensity of the story keeps you on the edge of your seat, trying to figure out how all the clues fit together, what would happen and who did what.

It is easy to see why Noelle Holten is such a popular writer and a best-seller. She has an extensive understanding for both the dark and light side of human nature and a true gift for displaying that in his books. Be prepared…very prepared. You won’t put it down from your trembling hands until it’s over. If you want a fast-paced, chilling, intense, and unforgettable book then Dead Perfect is perfect for you.

This is the third book in the Maggie Jamieson series, and this time Maggie is confronted by a threat against a close friend and work colleague who has a stalker! However time Maggie is taking things even more personally and is on a one woman mission to protect her! At times, as always with Maggie, this leads to her rushing in and not thinking through things clearly enough.

Like the rest of the series I really enjoyed this book, loved the interplay of characters and it really is a rollercoaster ride spending time with Maggie. All I can say is hang on for the ride, This series has quickly become one of my favourites and I do recommend it strongly. Within the book we see changes in Maggie’s personal life and see what could be the beginning of a new relationship for her from a very unlikely source.

The tension certainly ramped up as the book progressed and like always left us with the introduction to the next book in the series, which I can’t wait to read!

Give the series a try, you won”t be sorry.

I was so looking forward to reading this after thoroughly enjoying Dead Inside and Dead Wrong, which ended on a bit of a cliffhanger! So, very excited for this one. And I'm very happy to say I wasn't disappointed.

In the last book Maggie's friend and colleague Dr Kate Maloney received some unnerving correspondence and at the beginning of this one Maggie is worried about her, So when Maggie can't reach her and a body matching Kate's description is found, Maggie is beside herself... But this is just the beginning of a creepy, complex, troubling investigation which Maggie struggles with due to her feelings for Kate. But there is a killer out there and Maggie must put her personal feelings and anxieties aside and, together with the rest of the team, solve the case.

I've said it before and I'll say it again - I really like Maggie. Noelle has created a well rounded character who whilst easy to root for can also be frustrating. Maggie is tenacious and hardworking, fiercely loyal to those around her, and often able to look at things slightly differently from her colleagues. She becomes deeply invested in her cases, and this one more than others as it involves someone she cares about. She does sometimes rub people up the wrong way, particularly if they can't see her point of view, and can be a touch abrasive. And I really worry that she has no life to speak of it outside of work! The team dynamic is interesting with former colleague Nathan now her boss, but his promotion doesn't seem to cause any problems. Most of the time, anyway. With the exception of Nathan and Maggie's brother Andy, the key players are mainly women which is great to see. I have to give a shout out to Bethany, who beavers away behind a computer - easily one of the hardest working members of the team, I reckon! Journalist Julie Noble certainly adds something to the story, even if Maggie does find her involvement less than palatable. Or does she?

From the very creepy prologue, this book grabs you. The crimes are horrific and there is plenty of detail given here. The chapters from the point of view of the perpetrator had the hairs standing up on the back of my neck, they were so disturbing! Many of the chapters end on a mini cliffhanger, meaning you just have to carry on reading, regardless of the time! I did, anyway. The storyline is terrific and terrifying, with a great denouement. I didn't guess who the perpetrator was and I was certainly surprised by their motivation.

Dead Perfect is a tight police procedural reflecting Holten's many years of experience working in probation and dealing with the police service. She also has the qualifications to back up her writing. It is a tense, thrilling drama that rattles along at a real pace, and easily stands up there with her first two books. And the wonderful thing is there's another wee cliffhanger at the very end - hopefully book four will be along soon! An all round great read.

This is the third in the Maggie Jamieson series, although I've missed number 2 in the series (silly me). They can be read as stand alone books, although I would say best read as a series as you learn all the extra background to the characters. I enjoyed this as much as I enjoyed number 1, and will be reading number 2 and looking out for the next in the installment too.

As always Noelle has hit it out of the park. Each book in this series gets better and better. I love Maggie, what a character. It's great to see a main character who is as flawed as she is perfect. Great writing.

We hear from the killer and get a glimpse into their thoughts/routine. We flip to the investigation and there is a huge focus around the team from a personal point of view. Kate and Maggie's friendship, Maggie's own emotional issues and inner turmoil. The team dynamics, Kate trying to protect Maggie, Maggie trying to protect Kate. I got a bit frustrated by Kate at times with her behaviour, we all have that one pal who is crap with their phone...... Imagine that but with the rage/emotional upheaval trying to juggle work, family/friendship and catch a killer, ooft.

The killer is pretty horrific, what he does to his victims to achieve the living doll gave me the boke! The book pulls you in pretty quick, the opening chapter - if you know what he is using or Google it that is you drawn in and shook. Holten has created characters you invest in and this book, as well as giving you the whole murder/investigation, we get a human feel and more in depth look as some of our fave characters. If you haven't read the previous books (two) you could start here but I would advise going back first as you will be losing a lot of backstory although the book does give some back nods. 4/5 for me this time, so so looking forward to the next in the series, get penning good woman!

I was so desperate for this killer to be caught that I couldn’t put this book down and read it in one sitting. It is the third book in this series but the first one I’ve read and although it could be read as a standalone, this book was so good that I now want to go back and read the first two books.

Dead Perfect is a chilling, fast-paced read that will keep you awake at night and make you want to double-check that your windows and doors are firmly locked.

This is book three in a series about DC Maggie Jamieson. This is the first book I’ve actually read by Noelle, but you can read this as a stand-alone. I really enjoyed this book and will definitely be catching up with the other two books now. As soon as you start reading you will be hooked. This is a fast paced read with lots going on. I can’t wait to read the others.

A thoroughly gripping read that left me absolutely breathless! Would definitely recommend, and definitely want to read more from this author!

This is our third meeting with DC Maggie Jamieson, and she as bolshy and fierce as ever! The end of the second instalment, Dead Wrong, was one hell of a cliff hanger, and Dead Perfect picks up the story as per one second later. Full of adrenaline, emotion and me wanting my eyes to read quicker!

The story is sinister, with insights of the killer becoming more and more troubling as we progress through the book. We are provided with the killers perspective and the perspective of the police – as well as snippets of fleeting moments where they are at the same scene. This makes you feel so close to knowing who the perpetrator is that is it infuriating – but isn’t this what we all love about crime fiction? Constantly thinking and re-evaluating all of the characters.

Characters remain strong, as per the previous two books, and the strength of the series just gets stronger and stronger. I love how honest and authentic the story telling is – with characters having good and bad days where sometimes you like them and sometimes you don’t so much – just like real humans! Including daily struggles a lot of us have with our emotions and how this can impact our lives, even when we don’t want it to! A lot of fiction doesn’t quite grasp this like Holten does here. A true triumph of a book! Bring on book 4, please?

This was a great read of cat-and-mouse of finding out what would happen to Kate, if anything would happen to Kate, while her cop best friend tries to protect her. I loved the quick, alternating chapters where the killer is talking about Kate, or even more frighteningly, follows in a car but she doesn't know it. Fantastic suspense from Noelle Holten!

With every book in this series, it feels to me like the characters and the story-telling are maturing. In this book, we have a truly horrifying set of crimes with a deeply disturbing psychological basis to them. Even more worryingly, the main target of the killer seems to be Maggie’s friend and colleague, Kate, which causes problems for Maggie, who struggles with detachment at the best of times and finds herself repeatedly in trouble here for over-stepping the line.

There are so many different aspects of this book that are particularly enjoyable for fans of the genre. Firstly the crimes themselves. The author has developed a killer and a series of crimes that are shocking and baffling, and had me on the edge of the seat throughout. The motivation behind the crimes does not seem to be murder, so it is a fascinating trip into what is driving him and what he is trying to achieve. I have to say, I had no clue as to who was doing it or why until all the details were revealed at the end of the book, it was very cleverly done and kept me engaged throughout.

Then there is the development of Maggie herself as a character and in her relationships with both colleagues and people outside of work. With every book we learn a little more about her, and understand why she behaves the way she does. Here, her emotional attachment to the object of the killer’s obsession adds extra pressure, and causes her to push the boundaries between her job and her personal life, leading to increased conflict with her colleagues which was riveting to watch unfold. Nathan’s promotion above her is also causing a change in dynamics, and there were more aspects of her relationship with her brother, Andy to explore. Noelle has created a real, three-dimensional protagonist to carry this series, and I am growing increasingly fond of her as the series goes on.

Finally, this series is unique in the way that it explores the working relationship between the different departments in the criminal justice system, such as the police, probation, forensics etc. I have never come across a series of books that emphasises this in such a way before, and it is obvious that the author has worked within the system and understands that it is not just the police alone that solve crimes, but they need the assistance of other departments in collecting evidence and information to narrow their suspect pool. In coming at this from a slightly different angle, this author offers the reader an engaging and compelling perspective on police work in the UK.

Another great edition to the series. Here is a writer who is firmly in her stride and flying along with confidence and panache. This book was left on a cliffhanger again that has made em eager for the next instalment. If you are looking for a new crime series to feed your thriller addiction, this one has to be near the top of your must-read list.

This is the third book in the Maggie Jamieson series. I am a huge fan of the series and I am pleased to say that it is a great addition.

The end of Book 2 was a cliffhanger where it looked as though a close friend of Maggie’s had been murdered. Enter a new killer for Maggie and her team to do battle with.

Maggie’s friend has been dealing with a stalker and now a killer has started to dress his victims like other people, making them his dolls.

Again this book is excellently written and we get to see Noelle’s knowledge coming through the pages.

I can not wait to read Book 4 and highly recommend that you read this and the others in the series.

What happens when you combine a talented writer with a knowledge of the topic they are writing about and mix it with a slightly disturbed mind? Well you get this amazing book!! Noelle Holten has written an outstanding book that I just could not stop reading! I absolutely loved her previous books, but Dead Perfect is on a whole different level!! I would struggle to find anything negative to say about this story, from start to finish I was gripped!

There is an underlying tension throughout, mixed with mystery and suspense. The characters are brilliant, I especially enjoyed the friendship between Maggie and Kate. Maggie is really protective of Kate, while Kate finds this overwhelming at times she understands it.

One of my favourite things in this type of book is when there are chapters/parts written from the killers POV, Noelle Holten delivers this expertly in this novel. The parts told from the killers side are chilling and give an insight into a very disturbed individual!

I am soooo looking forward to reading the next part of this series. I want to know what is to come and I am sure I won't be disappointed. If you are looking for a novel that will have you feverishly flicking through the pages to find out the conclusion, then this is definitely a book you need to read! Although it is part of a series I think it could be read as a standalone without a problem. Although to get the full back story I would highly recommend reading the previous books, Dead Inside and Dead Wrong.

Loved the third book in the Maggie Jamieson series! The author clearly has a lot of knowledge about police procedures which makes it feel so real. Maggie's friend Kate is being stalked and the murder victims also look very like her. Maggie has to tread a fine line with over protecting her and not crossing boundaries by revealing too many details of the case.
Powerful, page turner which kept me up very late one night as I needed to finish it!

Noelle has done it again and delivered an absolutely brilliant crime thriller that will have you on the edge of your seat.

For once I’m not going to go into the blurb, the official blurb tells you exactly what you need to know and I don’t want to give anything away! I want you to enjoy the storyline for yourself. What I will say is that we see Maggie develop. With each book we get to know her a little better and what makes her tick. Her friendship with Kate is complicated and the developments between them are interesting…..We also see her friendships changing at work, with Maggie coming under more scrutiny and pressure than before.

Maggie as a character is fab. She’s very determined, and usually keeps others at a distance. In this we see a slightly different side to her, with her real feelings becoming clear. We also see her realising how her behaviour may affect others (although this doesn’t stop her at times!). I love Kate – she’s such an interesting character and I thoroughly enjoyed finding out about her background.

I loved the storyline. I did have an idea quite early on who the killer might be, but wasn’t entirely sure and there were so many twists throughout that it kept me on my toes. I had no clue as to why the killer was doing what they were doing, and what their motivation was until later on. When there’s such a dark and gritty storyline in a book I wonder what’s going on in the author’s head! Where/how do they come up with this stuff?!

I’ve really enjoyed the last two books by Noelle, and this didn’t disappoint. If you’re looking for a dark, gritty crime thriller with a storyline that will keep you on your toes, then you should check this out. Great work again Noelle! Highly recommended by me.
