I didn't enjoy much about this novel. Some of the ARCs I receive have formatting issues which I overlook but this went beyond that.

The Good:

The cover is awesome. 
You don't have to read any of the other books in the series to pick up on the characters, relationships, or the plot.
References to the last book were minimal.
The ending leaves an opening for fans to have another book in the DC Maggie Jamieson series.
I wasn't able to identify who the serial killer was but I was able to mark off all of the suspects as they were presented.
Some of the chapters were of the serial killers actions and some were of the potential victim and main investigator.

The Bad:

The pacing was off. It was really slow until the end.
There was a lot of telling and not showing.
Dialogue could be stilted and awkward at times.

I received this book in May and it's not set to be published until October. There's probably another ARC copy floating around that's gone through another round or two of edits.

Another solid book in the series from Noelle Holten. I had been looking forward to reading this one because book two ended in such a way that the reader was left wanting more. Dead Perfect is another great crime/thriller/procedural. The characters are well thought out, and they all seem to bounce well off each other. The story was fast paced too. Definitely recommended! If I’m completely honest, I guessed early on and was proven right at the resolution. But I read so many of these books that it tends to happen more often than not that it’s possible to pick up on these things. I think maybe 3.5 but rounded up to 4 because the books get stronger with each outing!

It starts where book 2 finished regarding Kate’s stalker.
I do think Maggie lets too much of her personal feelings/circumstances get in the way of the investigation. She goes on instinct but seems a bit too impulsive and I think this clouds her judgement.
Maggie is attracted to her friend and colleague with a serious crush on Kate, and seems childishly disappointed when Kate says she isn’t gay. I think there was a conflict of interest and she should’ve been pulled from the investigation, although the story wouldn't have gone the same way if that happened!
I did think I’d guessed the killer quite early on and I was correct.
A good read overall although I did prefer book 1 and 2. I am looking forward to following Maggie in book 4.

I really don't know what to write about this book. Just buy it doesn't seem enough. Firstly I really was looking forward to reading this book, I have read the authors first two books and loved them. So when I got the chance to read this I was foaming at the mouth to start it.
I did think maybe the author had put to much into the first two books and there was no way she could top those. How wrong was I!
Noelle has delivered again. Being a book blogger, working in publishing and being an avid reader must really add to the authors writing as she just knows what her readers want.
Something Gripping, addictive, chilling yet believable and it's all delivered here. Brilliant and believable characters and I have to say there was a character that appeared in this book that was also in book one and it's good to see her making something of her life.
When the body of a young lady is found DC Maggie Jamieson has a terrible time, she's believing it's someone she knows. She's so grateful when she finds its not her friend Dr Kate Moloney.
It seems the killer has dressed the victim to look like Kate. How sick is that, this shows what sort of monster they are dealing with.
​At the beginning of this book it's almost like Maggie is taking Kates stalker more serieously that Kate is. It isn't really to long before Kate seems to grasp how serious the matter is.
​I love a book that keeps you second guessing and keeps you on your toes the whole way through.


It's dark and creepy in parts which makes it 'Dead Perfect' I'm loving this authors twisted mind.

Book 3 in the series from the brilliant Noelle Holten. This one is very chilling as Kate’s stalker makes his move. A great read, filled with emotion & suspense. The characters are solidly written and believable. Looking forward to the next book

Synopsis:

Kate is already dealing with a stalker and now Maggie must work out who wants to hurt Kate before its too late.

I enjoy reading this series and feel the author brings added insight into the life of the Police and probation service.
Would again recommend and will pick up next book when available.

Dead Perfect by by Noelle Holten is book #3 in the Maggie Jamieson series and due out in October. This crime procedural caught my attention with an intriguing premise – a victim of a murder closely resembles the friend and coworker of Detective Constable (DC) Maggie Jamieson. The book was an engaging and easy read and kept me turning the pages (@onemorechapterhc). It will be great for those who devour these kind of books and enjoy the general formula – it delivers what you would expect with just enough info you might spot the murderer yourself but regardless you can count on it being solved by the end of the book. However, I love character driven books and there was something lacking here for me – something about Maggie and her colleague Kate just didn’t feel authentic. Overall, the book was okay for me but won’t make my favorites list. Thank you One More Chapter and Net Galley for an advance copy to read and review.

This is the third in the DC Maggie Jamieson series. When a body is found in a local park that bears an uncanny resemblance to Dr Kate Moloney, Maggie finds herself immersed in a dangerous stalker case that puts her colleague and friend Kate’s life in grave danger.

First of all the case is very dark and has a lot of creepy elements as the killer follows rituals and has specific signatures which creates tension in this fast paced and twisty plot. I like the profiling elements and the references to famous serial killer cases grabs the attention. A lot of chapters end on cliffhangers which is good as it makes you want to read on and see where it leads. The ending is excellent and I’m all in for number four! I can’t say I especially like the abrasive Maggie Jamieson but she’s definitely one you would want on your side and she is unrelenting in pursuing the truth.

However, I identified the killer very early on which is always a bit of a let down when it’s so obvious. I also think it’s unlikely that Maggie would be allowed to be involved in a case that involves a friend and why isn’t Kate put in a safe house immediately????

Despite the above reservations this is an enjoyable read and has more positives than negatives.

From the beginning you are hurled into this book and it certainly maintains its momentum right through to the end.
This book can be read as a stand alone even though quite early on it became clear that this book was part of a series
The characters feel quite real and you are swept up with the police procedures
I can honestly say I will be following this author and will now go and read her other books

A good read and another one in the series for DC Maggie Jamieson.

This was a solid addition to the series. Its well written and there's enough going on to hold your interest.

I did not realize this was the third installment in a series when I started this book but it very quickly engaged me and kept me involved right up to the end. I look forward to going back to read the first two books and hope there is a book four. I love reading police procedural and this did not disappoint.

I so looked forward to reading Dead Perfect by the lovely Noelle Holten, having read and enjoyed both Dead Inside and Dead Wrong.

First things first, do yourself a favour and read these books in order!

I am growing very fond of DC Maggie Jamieson and those in her professional realm. They seem like a good bunch of people to have as colleagues. Much like with the teams in the background of Vera and Banks, I am confident they will soon feel like old friends.

Have to say, I think my favourite character from Dead Perfect was actually the reporter! I really liked her and I hope she will feature more in future books.

The main thrust of the storyline is fabulous, creepy and, at times, hard to think about. The thought of the tap, tap, tap of that little hammer is the stuff of nightmares! Thanks Noelle for making 'Living Doll' an even creepier song than it already was - I had the damn thing stuck in my head for days and obviously it is now back as I am writing this. Weirdly for me, it's not always the Cliff Richard version - have you ever heard the Cliff and the Young Ones version? Go listen to that, while imagining the tap, tap, tap of the little hammer and some weirdo stroking your hair: you're welcome. Now, like me, you can have an uncomfortable meld of the two in your mind!

Noelle gets better and better with every single book and I loved that 'Sarah Hardy' was a character! Oh and as for the ending...

Now, Maggie herself is a bit of an odd character. There seems to be a constant internal conflict going on with her and I hope she will mature and level out, a bit. I feel like she would be hard to be around sometimes - although she knows this and I look forward to more being revealed about her in the future. One thing is for sure though, she is super loyal and caring and those close to her most certainly would feel loved and appreciated.

Overall, these books in the 'Dead' series have a wonderful mix of intelligence, a lively sparkyness and a depth of believability all of which are perfectly honed into a gripping thriller.

I can so easily see this series being televised and look forward to the creepiness of the soundtrack for this one - Noelle, please let Reece Shearsmith and Steve Pemberton direct this episode!

After Dead Wrong leaving me wanting to dive straight into book 3, I was lucky enough to get my hands on an advance copy of the book that let me do just that and I wasn’t disappointed. This time the main focus is on Maggie’s close friend Kate Maloney. Maggie is called to a crime scene, but with the description of the victim resembling that of Kate she is not sure that she really wants to be there. As more bodies turn up, all resembling Kate, the hunt is on to find out who the killer is and what the connection between them is.
Kate is as stubborn as Maggie so you can see why they get along and there are certainly some do as I say not as I do moments when Maggie is desperately trying to keep Kate safe but all Kate wants to do is keep her life as normal as possible. She refuses to let the possibility that she has a stalker stop her from doing her job, even using her friendship with Maggie to insert herself into the investigations which for her own sanity was probably not the smartest decision she makes and has an impact on some of her actions going forward.
I have to say that this is my favourite book out of the three so far. I am loving the fact that we are slowly getting to know more about Maggie, both as a police officer and also in her personal life which is by no means straightforward but does not distract from the main action in anyway. The author is certainly getting in her stride now with the characters and her knowledge of the justice system clearly shows throughout. The tension builds up quite slowly at first, but I found that I was unable to put the book down and raced through it in 2 days. Although Maggie is the link between all the books making them more police procedural, there is also the focus on different elements within the system so the reader gets a different perspective with each new book. The only thing I will say is that with the action in book 3 starting almost straight after the conclusion in book 2 this is probably the only time I would recommend you read the previous book to really get the full impact of the story. All that is left to say is that with the series going from strength to strength roll on book number 4

A great addition to the series, with lots of suspense and intrigue. Maggie always puts everything she's got into an enquiry and when it becomes apparent that her colleague and friend Kate is in danger she will stop at nothing to keep her safe.

I didn't love this book. It's the third in a series, but even viewing it as an independent entity, I just had a lot of problems with it. Maggie is supposed to be a clearheaded, focused officer, but it even says that when it comes to people she's close to, objectivity goes out the window. Her former partner and now acting chief, Nathan, never should have put her on the case, or allowed her to work it. Throughout, Maggie spirals out of control, spurred on by her romantic inclination toward Kate.

Oddly enough, Kate and Maggie don't even seem as though they are great friends. More to the point, they fell like casual friends, and Maggie has a crush on Kate. I found Maggie to be very childish and petulant. Even though she knows Kate doesn't share her feelings, and isn't gay, she gets upset when Kate and her brother begin a flirtation. A conversation with her brother about the topic even comes up, and she blames it on a relationship with their father, but the conversation is stilted and out of left field. More, the situation with Andy is promptly dropped almost immediately from the narrative.

More, it was clear for me to discern who the killer was almost immediately. There may as well have been big, red, concentric circles around the killer. All in all, the whole novel fell flat, and I feel as though I wasted time.

Dead Perfect by Noelle Holten is a fantastic addition to the wholly addictive DI Maggie Jamieson. series and I think she has outdone herself this time. When a victim turns up in a park who bears an eerie resemblance to her close friend Dr Kate Moloney. Maggie is scared Kate is being stalked but determined to protect her friend at all costs. A feat made more complicated by the more than friendship feelings she is developing for Kate.

The book picks up neatly from the second Maggie Jamieson book and although you can read this as a standalone it does reference prior events outlined earlier in the series, and I think to truly understand the history of the characters you should start at the beginning (bonus -that's two more books you get to read!)

Although I figured out the killer and motives early on in the book I still found this a well written compelling read and I am looking forward to the fourth instalment.

Dead Perfect by Noelle Holten is an exceptionally written book. It is book 3 in the series of DC Jamieson. All of the characters are very relatable but dealing with very intense criminal cases. I will, without a doubt, be reading the other two in this series. Highly recommend.

I read this straight after Dead Wrong as I’d enjoyed it so much. Another excellent police drama and thriller.
At the end of the previous book, DS Nathan Wright has just broken the news that a body has been found and it fitted the description of DC Maggie Jamieson‘a friend and colleague Dr Kate Moloney.
This book starts straight afterwards and the team rush to the scene to see if their worst fears are confirmed.
Thankfully it isn’t Kate, but the likeness is uncanny and the team fear for Kate’s safety.
Not long after, another girl is found dead - her hair has been dyed to look like Kate and she is dressed in the type of clothes she would wear. What is going on?
Kate moves in with Maggie for safety, but can they figure out who the killer is before he actually gets to Kate?
This was fast paced with lots of twists and turns.
We also see an update on Maggie’s crush on Kate, along with her newfound rivalry with Julie Noble, or is there something more?
I have to admit, I had a theory on who the killer was early on and was surprised to be right (this never happens!) but it was by no means obvious right to the end.
And the book ended on a cliff hanger, can’t wait for the next one!

I beyond loved this book, I have just read all 3 books in the series back to back. They are amazing police procedural books. The characters are a breath of fresh air. Not the stereo lead female breaking all the rules to prove nobody is the boss of her, instead a wonderfully complex character in Maggie, I love how the cast of characters have followed through for all 3 books. The hard bit is waiting for book 4, that will be agony.
