An honest review thanks to NetGalley. I am a fan of J. Kenner and was excited to start this book. It was great, I loved the suspense factor between Devlin and Ellie. I loved how the book started in the past and we got to see a snap shot of Alex and Ellie's relationship before we were brought into the present. I can't wait until the second book as the mystery surrounding Devlin continued to grow and make me want more answers!

Devlin Saint is a philanthropist, trying to right the wrongs created by so many criminals. He created the Devlin Saint Foundation (DSF) to rescue, educate, and train young people who have been recovered from sexual traffic rings. Ellie Holmes is an ex-cop and current reporter who is tasked with writing a story about the work done by Devlin and the DSF. As she digs deeper into the story, she discovers some unexpected surprises. Devlin follows a code of behavior that doesn't allow room for anything with Ellie. Ellie is used to people leaving her, having been orphaned early and losing her uncle/guardian a few years later. She has a very short-term mindset regarding relationships: one night is always enough. She is drawn to Devlin and wants to 'scratch her itch' but Devlin resists.

At the start of this book, it seemed as though it was going to be a predictable story. It didn't take very long for over half of those predictions to be shown as false. This book follows an unexpected path, which brings the tension level up and compels the reader to keep reading. Putting this book down is not an easy option, as the pace steadily increases from start to finish. There are several twists and turns that clarify the picture the reader is receiving regarding both Devlin and Ellie, but it is not at all given that this book will have a happy ending. Both of these protagonists have very strong personalities. As such, their internal conflicts are well-defined; however, they both struggle with the power that secrets have over their past, present, and future happiness.

J. Kenner creates a world filled with hidden meanings, secrets, and sacrifices in this book. The reader is pulled into this complex tale of hidden agendas and smokescreens willingly, because there are so many questions that need answers. While this book does not end in a cliffhanger, it is evident that this story does continue. It is unclear if this is part of a duet, or part of a longer series, but the next book in this saga arrives in early 2021. This reader can't wait!

When I sasw the title of this book, i thought it was goinhg to be a vampire type of book, but it wasn't I really enjoyed this and it has a Fifty Shades of grey feel to it but witout the toys and Aellie is more bold tthan Ana. That's all I am going to say about this, because I am afraid I'll give it all away.. I can't wait for the second book to come out. I am grateful that netgalley let me read this in exchange of an honest review.

Ellie Holmes is back home in Laguna Cortez, determined to find answers, but instead finds more questions and danger. Determined to meet the elusive Devlin Saint, little did she know what events would happen and is determined now more than ever to find the truth. This is a story of young love that was lost, love that is found, and how dangerous it can be.
While I did solve the mystery surrounding Ellie and Devlin, I did not see some of the events leading up to the ending.
I thoroughly enjoyed My Fallen Saint, the beginning of J. Kenner’s new series, Fallen Saint and look forward to the next book.

"He doesn't look like a saint at all. Instead he's a fallen angel. A man with power and poise and a dangerous edge. And right now, he's looking at me with so much heat it's a wonder I don't melt into the leather."

Damien who? Just kidding, but I wanted to make a point. Devlin Saint rocked my world. And he definitely ain't no saint. He's the best kind of bad...sigh. I have to say, this new series, Fallen Saint is so damn good I want to read it again, and I just turned the last page.

There is soooo much goodness in this story, but there are so many secrets too. Stuff that needs to be revealed layer by layer so your eyebrows can inch up after each one until they are in your hairline. Do you feel me? Yeah, exciting stuff that will have you holding your breath as you wait anxiously for—excuse me while I inhale—for what you hope will happen and other stuff you are afraid will happen. Every page another breath and another gasp and another sigh. Pain and passion and a past full of secrets and sorrow.

Though Devlin has lust in his eyes and she knows he wants her, he keeps trying to push her away. "Don't play with fire, he'd said, and in the moment, I'd thought he meant the heat between us. Now, I think he has something to hide." What is it that he's trying to keep from her? Ellie is relentless as she searches for the truth. Never realizing that maybe what she finds will be more than she wants to know. She's a badass adrenaline junkie who likes to chase danger. When she comes toe-to-toe with the truth, will she be able to handle it?

Prepare yourselves. Once you start reading this spine-tingling passionate and suspenseful story you won't want to stop. Devlin and Ellie will be seared into your mind and your heart and there will be no forgetting them. I'm beside myself excited to get my hands on more of their story. The line forms here...

Trying to get answers into the death of her uncle, Ellie needs to travel back to the place she spent much of her teenage years. Gathering information puts her right in Devlin Saint's path. When secrets are revealed it pushes them both together. Right or Wrong the spark between them is instant. But Devlin has too many skeletons in his closet and some of those lead Ellie to wonder where his alliances lie. Can Ellie and Devlin connect in all of the chaos? Or will the answers she needs put her in harms way? Is Devlin more of a Saint or a Sinnner? I went into this story thinking that J. Kenner could not create a better place than Stark World. The readers have always loved Damien and Nikki and to trying to recreate the wheel might not go as well. But boy was I wrong. From the very first interaction with Devlin the reader becomes instantly aware of the character's power and grace. With a plot that kept on changing and an awesome connection between Ellie and Devlin, J. Kenner has once again proved her writing skills with masterful story telling.

4 Stars, a great read from a classic romance author. Steamy and fun! Recommended for anyone who wants a little intrigue in their TBR pile!

The story started off strong, the character of Ellie was an interesting and I interested in her journey. But then once we meet Devli.n it became a bit silly. I knew right away who he was and within a few chapters I knew whatever had done and was now doing. It was so obvious that Ellie as a journalist should have come to this conclusion earlier....The internal dialogue was repetitious (cop’s daughter, then a cop) we know! I had not seen that this was book one so I expected a ending

This one is definitely a page-turner! I don't even know how to describe the plot without spoiling anything, so I won't even go there, but I will say that I loved these characters and this new world J. Kenner is bringing us. It's fast-paced and twisty and a fantastic first book to a series that already has me hooked.

I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

ARC received for review

Hhhmmm, what to say without giving any spoilers. It was hot and they chemistry. Ellie comes back to the town where she grew up to interview Devlin. They meet and sparks. He's got a past and of course, stupid man, doesn't reveal it all and almost crashed their relationship. There's a HEFN and a wee bit of a cliffy, not with their relationship but with a mystery text warning. Now I'm not too sure about her BFF Brandy's new boyfriend. Is he for real or just there to cause trouble?

As always, J Kenner knows how to write an enjoyable book with sexy characters that always have chemistry through the roof!

This was an easy read, however I did find a few things kind of predictable. But, not enough that it stopped me from wanting to finish the book or would stop me from recommending it to friends! I look forward to seeing where this series goes!

I'm intrigued. I have questions and I'm pretty curious where this is headed. It didn't end on a bad cliffhanger but there is more to the story.

Most of this book is the mystery behind Devlin. He's a very attractive character to read as the hero. He's got the dark looks, and dangerous vibes going for him.

Ellie's a tough chic. She's scared by her past and the effect her first love had on her when she was still a kid. She behaved more like the many scared men that I'm used to reading about trying to chase their ghosts away.

You get a lot of relationship angst with this couple and some of it was hard for me. I really prefer the guy chase the girl, not the other way around. I struggled a bit with his constant pushing away but I also know there is a reason for it, and you can tell he wants to give in very badly.

This felt like just the beginning and things look like they are really going to heat up for book 2.
