The Broken Hearts Honeymoon
by Lucy Dickens
A heartwarming story about when your worst nightmare happens and how you grow from it. When Charlotte’s fiancée takes cold feet shortly before the wedding Charlotte decides she will take the journey of a lifetime to Japan that should have been her honeymoon . Read about her journey and how she enjoys life by herself and cope with the wonderful things life has to offer . Great back drop for this story . A nice easy read. 3.5/5
This book was good. I liked the story and the Japanese setting. I liked the first-person voice and found the story interesting,
The Broken Hearts Honeymoon by Lucy Dickens was an empowering and inspiring read about self growth and worth. I really want to travel to Japan now after reading this book.
The Broken Hearts Honeymoon by Lucy Dickens is a truly delightful story of self-discovery, love and heartbreak.
Charlotte is faced with a difficult decision – stay in the safe comfort of what she knows or venture off into the unknown to follow her dream honeymoon. Along the way she learns to cope with life on her own and experiences many wonderful things Japan has to offer.
The setting of The Broken Hearts Honeymoon provides the perfect backdrop to the characters’ journey of finding themselves and facing love in new and unexpected ways. With a perfect mix of drama, adventure and emotion, this story will keep you on your toes.
For anyone seeking to follow their heart, this book is a must read!
Felt transported to Tokyo! Such a beautiful story with stunning descriptions of Japan, I could almost feel the sea breeze in my hair and the sun on my face. Charlotte is a real heroine of a main character and I loved following her journey of self discovery. Truly amazing read. Highly recommend!
Charlotte is rocked when she learns her fiancé is having second thoughts on their upcoming nuptials. She decides she will take their planned honeymoon, to Japan, on her own. The book read more as a travel guide to Japan which I didn’t particularly when I visited years ago so the book wasn’t a great read for me. It was very well written though and I did enjoy Charlotte as a character. Thank you to Netgalley for the advanced copy.
Easy, fun, read! I love Japan, and really felt like this book brought that through. It isn't really a love story, but on Charlotte's journey and I really enjoyed following that!
Heartwarming adventure story! This is the story of Charlotte, and her journey of self discovery in beautiful and exotic Japan, when she decides to take her honeymoon ALONE after her fiance breaks up with her and the wedding is canceled. There were so many vivid descriptions of places to visit, I am inspired to add Japan to my own travel bucket list! Thank you Netgalley, Random House UK and the author for this eARC in exchange for my honest review. Available now

DNF. I wanted to read it because I love Japan and I've been there so I like reading about it. The story had an interesting concept but It was way too slow for me. I didn't really like it. I received a free digital copy of this book from NetGalley in exchange for my honest review
Sadly this was very meh for me. Not very enjoyable, felt somewhat long and the characters not interesting.
OMG this book was so cute and light hearted. Loved it so much and made me home sick for Japan. Keep up the good work.
A one sitting kind of read, you won't put this down.
I really enjoyed this book, the setting was amazing and Charlie is a wonderful sweet, fun character who you can't help but fall in love with. I feel this is a great book to bring along on vacation for a great read.
Charlotte after calling off her wedding decides to go on what supposed to be their honeymoon by herself, little she knew that this trip would change her life completely. The story narrated in first person by the main character is presented as an introspective diary with some flashbacks to her life which help underline Charlotte growth throughout the book. The book is set in Japan, and the author has been describing every single place and presented the culture of this country in such a wonderful way that I wished I could be right there experiencing that adventures with the protagonist. Perfect for people looking for a light hearted read!
Totally transported me to Japan. Such vivid descriptions that I felt was though I was a part of the story, feeling what Charlie was feeling and seeing everything she was.
It was a wonderful trip to Japan that was a way of Charlie, firstly not losing out on all the money spent on her honeymoon, but also a trip for her to discover who she may be, now she is no longer with her fiancée, and only boyfriend ever!
There were so many memorable experiences that I loved reading about, it's hard to know what to tempt you with - while taking in places in Japan that you may have heard of, in addition to the unfamiliar.
Japanese customs and way of life all rang true to me and it is clear a large amount of research must have gone into this book.
It was a joy to experience Charlie doing things things such as forest bathing, karaoke, snorkelling, visiting temples and so much more.
I was totally gripped by this story and Lucy Dickens is a fabulous author. I adored this book and it made me want to jump on a plane from my poolside location of Tenerife to Japan!
Thank you to Arrow and Netgalley for this copy which I have reviewed honestly and voluntarily.
First of all I would like to say thank you to the publisher, the author and net galley for allowing me access to an advance reader copy of this book.
This was a great romance comedy I read so many in this genre that usually I’m not impressed by them but I think this one had its own flare And was original the characters well-developed. Pacing was great and overall thought was a really great book
Thank you to Netgalley for the opportunity to read and review this book. All thoughts are my own. The book starts off with Charlotte and long time boyfriend Matt are planning a wedding and then Matt decides right before the wedding to date other people. After the wedding is canceled - Charlotte goes on the honeymoon to Japan on her own fulfilling a life long wish. This book vivid detail of Japan was exquisite and was able to take the reader to a time and place. This was a great book - loved the storyline.
I think the artwork of the cover is really good and the description intrigued me, i didn't like the main character which ruined the story for me.
