Thank you to NetGalley and Bookouture for this ARC !!

Sarah and Wilhem are facing marital problems and decide to sort out their issues by going on a second honeymoon but without their teenage daughter Isa. Louise has doubts about taking along Isa with them to their beach house for summer but pushes away those doubts since Isa is her daughter's Katie's best friend and she feels the two girls will enjoy themselves.

But at the end of summer Isa is dead. Louise is at loss of words as to how to explain that Isa's death was an accident with no fault of her family and Isa wasn't as perfect as everyone thought so. Sarah is distraught at the loss of her daughter and blames Louise for she believes that Louise should have protected her.

It was a story of darkness and how everything that seems picture perfect is not true. It was an interesting read with a few secrets that provided the necessary twists to the story.

I found it good to read, it kept me interested and flowed well gripping story of darkness

I just knew before reading this that it was going to be amazing. This novel did not disappoint.. the characters were excellent and the writing was top notch. A must read!

The storyline was there, I see where the author was trying to go with it. But it was far too long and slow burning.
I felt like there was large sections where it was just nothing and chapters just filling the space between the places where things happen. I didn’t like the jumping from past to present it was a bit messy and felt slightly unorganised.
Took me a lot longer than it usually does to read a book. I feel like if it was shorter it would be a lot better.

I found this to be a bit of a slow burner , it did keep my attention but it seemed to be very slow paced . When Louise is asked to take her friend Sarah's daughter away with them for the summer they she agrees al be it begrudgingly . Isa is Sarah's daughter Katie's best friend . As the story unfolds we find that the girls had been having problems , Isa had quite a few secrets from her parents . The story starts with the death of Isa and goes back , hearing both from Katie and Louise . This was more of a melodrama than a thriller for me and most of what occurred I worked out for myself . Still an enjoyable read .

Just finished this book and I have given it 4 stars, I thought it got off to a slow start, I wanted to scream at it just tell me what happened but that’s probably the point, it draws you in. It got to it though & then I was excited to be able to pick up my kindle to find out what happened. So much for my early night, I couldn’t put it down.

his was my first book by Jennifer Harvey and initially I found it good to read, it kept me interested and flowed well, however it then slowed down and personally I found the middle of the book very slow and repetitive but I battled on and read it to the end!
Centered around a long summer break on Long Island a family take their daughters best friend away with them to give her parents the opportunity to have a second honeymoon , the 17 year old isa, unknown to them has many emotional problems and is struggling with drugs and alcohol.Unfortunately Isa doesn’t return from the end of summer party at the beach and is found dead swept up on the beach! What follows is based upon the lies and secrets we keep and the repercussions of these!
Thank you net galley for this read.

When 17 year old Katie, her brother and parents go to their beach house for the summer little does she know how this summer will drastically change them. When her best friend Isa's parents are having trouble in their marriage they arrange for Isa to go on vacation with Katie's family. All though the two are best friends there has been trouble in the past for their relationship especially when Isa dates a much older man. Their friendship is stretched to it's limits when Isa's begins a relationship with one of Katie's crushes Luca. Things come to a head on the last night of their vacation at a beach party for the teenagers.
This book is written through the eyes of different characters, Katie and Louise her mother. The characters are well developed and I felt as if I really knew what Katie and Louise's lives were like. There are a lot of secrets between characters in this book that are slowly revealed to keep the book suspenseful and interesting. Twists and turns as layers upon layers of relationships are peeled away and with a satisfactory ending I would highly recommend this novel.

i always make notes for my reviews when reading through. It helps me get my feelings and thoughts in order when it comes to writing. This review is actually my notes copied and pasted. The author has put no effort into making a readable book so why should I put together one of my incredibly written reviews?!
I stopped reading at 50%. I don’t understand what’s going on, Someone Else’s Daughter is all over the place.

Explosive start - Isa is dead. Then you hear the story of how and why.
I need more than this. I have nothing to write about. (15%)
Lack of action - at 35% still bored? Isa is a mess. She unloved and wants attention.
After her death (38%) the book finally starts to feel better, I know Isa is the focus of the story but my god she’s irritating!
There’s actually some plot development as well! Actually no there isn’t. Just hoping....
Who the hell is Alex!? Red herring?
What is this story supposed to be? Murder? Revenge? An accident? Currently at 47% and have no interest in continuing. :(

(I managed to read another three percent woo!)

Wow oh wow!!!
I absolutely love it!!
I honestly have no idea how this review will do this book justice. I have nothing negative I can write about this book. The cover is absolutely gorgeous. I was instantly attracted and I have not been disappointed. This is a book which has pulled me in and not let me go until I have finished the entire book.
This book has stirred many emotions and I have absolutely loved it and enjoyed being gripped by this one. I have had many moments where I have wanted to scream but this has been a great read.
This is so worthy of more than five stars to show how fantastic it is. I cannot wait to read more by this author. I will be highly recommending this book.

While I loved the cover of this book, and thought the premise sounded great, I only got through a few chapters and did not finish. I'm not sure if the book was translated from another language (and I realize it is an advanced copy) but I could not get over the numerous places where there was incorrect grammar (ie. "she was stood at the top of the steps" -- should that be "she was standing at the top of the steps"?; and another - "looking at her sat in the window" -- should that be "looking at her sitting in the window"). Thank you for the copy, but I cannot get past the grammar issues.
