Thank you to Netgalley, the publisher and author for the chance to read and review this book I’m exchange for an honest review.
This is the first of this series that I have read and being a lover of a cozy mystery then this appealed. This is not the first of the series, although this was not a major hurdle. It did mean that there were things about the characters had to assume and I was oddly put off that a male character was called Bee!
Nice to e and characters but a bit slow I’m the middle.
Not my favourite of this genre but I will go back and try the first I’m the series to see if that gives the story more context.

Another great whodunit by Lena Gregory. This series has such great paranormal aspects. I love the friendship between Cass, Bee and Stephanie. The characters and setting are great. A must read by everyone!

Somehow I missed a few books in this series so I was thrilled to pick this one up and see what was going on with Cass, Bee and every one else on Bay Island. It's still the same gossipy mostly goodnatured place as ever and Cass's dog Beast is still capable of getting into just as much trouble. I do love an animal sidekick and Beast is the biggest, sweetest, most accidental trouble-making there is. He has shown a little bit of growth but he's still the same goofy dog he was at the beginning of the series. As well we have the genuine friendships between Cass, Bee, and Stephanie which I really enjoy. They don't always see eye to eye but the friendship feels really true and they just seem like friends which I enjoy.

There are two primary issues in this book - the murderer mystery itself and Cass's struggles with figuring out just what to do with all the voices constantly invading her head. I thought seeing Cass struggle with her abilities was an interesting issue that I haven't really come across before. There's plenty of books that involve other people's issues (and there's some of that here) but I can't think of ever seen a psychic book where the psychic is struggling to really figure out how to use her powers. Then there's a mystery. Who killed Fred and why and just what is going on out and the lighthouse. There's a treasure hunt and all kinds of rumors floating around complicating things which made the book very fun and very entertaining. The mystery is fast paced and at times I felt this slid into a bit of a jumbled feeling. There were a few times I forgot just what had lead them to a particular location or to a conclusion. The information was there but it occasionally got a bit lost in everything else that was happening.

Despite that minor issue I really enjoyed this mystery. There's history, mystery, friendships, and an absolutely fabulous dog!

It's almost time for the Summer tourist season on Bay Island and Cass is trying to focus on doing a psychic reading for her friend, Stephanie. Soon the voices from the other side become too distracting and Cass stops the reading. In an effort to lighten Stephanie's mood, Cass and Bee take Stephanie for an outing to the island lighthouse. Instead of a pleasant afternoon seeing the sights, they become involved in a death. The lighthouse keeper falls to his death and the police face the big question - was it an accident? or was it murder? If Cass can just sort out the voices and somehow connect with the dead man while dealing with the rest of her day to day life, she might also track down the killer.
I really enjoy this series as well as the other series Lena Gregory writes - The All-Day Breakfast Cafe mysteries - and it's so nice to spend time with Cass, Bee and Stephanie. The setting is charming and the psychic angle hits just the right note. The mystery had me hooked from the beginning and kept me guessing to the end.
My thanks to the publisher, Beyond the Page and to NetGalley for giving me an advance copy in exchange for my honest review.

Cass Donovan has physic talents and likes to give her friends readings. One day, just before summer season on Bay Island, she is giving her friend Stephanie a reading when this is interrupted by voices of dead people.

Unable to finish her reading, she and Stephanie go sightseeing on the island when someone falls to his death. Have they just witnessed a murder?

This is the fifth installment in the Bay Island Psychic Mystery series, which I wasn’t familiar with before reading this book. Worry not as this is such an enjoyable read, I stayed way too late into the evening as I couldn’t put it down.

The mystery was realistic, and with lots of twists and turns. I liked that it kept me guessing and the ending was quite a surprise! Will you guess who done it?

The main character, Cass Donovan, is very likeable, and I felt I was friends with her as I kept turning the pages. She found her physic powers later in life mid through her professional career, which is strangely relatable. I feel the author draws a good parallelism between physic powers and finding your true calling whatever that may be, and she beautifully portraits this as a fun story line.

All in all, an incredibly fun read!

Disclosure: I would like to thank Beyond The Page Publishing for an advanced copy of Grave Consequences, Bay Island Psychic Mystery #5 by Lena Gregory. This is my honest review.

Psychic Cass Donovan has come into her powers later in life and is having trouble dealing with the voices. When a local is murdered, she tries to learn as much as she can to help the local police solve it, with the blessings of the police chief, who believes she is able to pick up on what they can't see.
With the help of her friends she works on several mysteries, one being a murder, another an assault.
When the killer corners another psychic Simone, and then Cass and Bee planning to kill them, they barely escape, but manage to bring him to justice.
Nicely penned with plenty of intrigue and a bit of humor. I enjoyed the change in my usual fare.
I requested and received a NetGalley Arc gratis and offer my opinion in the same vein.

This was a bit of a letdown. The murder seemed to play second fiddle to the character drama which ended up being extremely cliche. I don’t think I’ll be reading any more of these.

I received a copy of this book from the publisher via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. I was not paid for this review.

I loved everything about this book. A psychiatrist who moves back home and runs a psychic shop, her 2 best friends, and a murder at a lighthouse. All of this and a well written story with plenty of twists and turns make this an excellent summer read.

This is my first dip into the paranormal pool, so to speak. I am not sure of other authors and series but I loved this book. It kept me entertained and on my toes throughout. The characters, especially Cass, were a delight. Cass, as well as the others, became quick friends. The plot was well written and the twists and turns kept my attention.

I am looking forward to going back to read the beginning of the series and can't wait for the next installment.

4.5 stars

This is the fifth book in the Bay Island Mystery series by Lena Gregory.

As each book unfolds, we see that Cass is more and more comfortable with her psychic powers. In this title, she is learning to focus and block out certain dead people when she is trying to concentrate. She only realizes this is possible when she sees another lady do it and Cass wants to learn more.

The mystery here is pretty entertaining and I get a kick out of Bee and all of Cass's friends who hover around her so much. The gal might learn a bit more if they would leave her to her own devices more. We start out the book wondering if the person that fell from the lighthouse fell or was pushed to his death.

The characters are all a real hoot and I still have trouble seeing "Bee" as a guy. Not sure why. But he is definitely a character that grows on you. And you don't doubt his devotion to Cass.

One great series with paranormal elements.

If you love a good cozy mystery, definitely check this one out.

I received this as an ARC (Advanced Reader Copy) in return for an honest review. I thank NetGalley, the publisher and the author for allowing me to read this title.

This is the fifth in the Bay Island Psychic Mystery series and the second that I have read. I was drawn in by the cover, description, and author. I have read all of her All-Day Breakfast Café Mysteries and enjoyed them.

I found the story disorienting at the beginning with snatches of phrases coming at you. This technique was used by the author to portray that Cass hasn’t learned to filter the dead voices and many were vying for her attention. Once I got beyond that the story kept me turning the pages.

The plot is well written, the characters are genuine, and there are many suspects.
Add this series to your list, if you haven’t already. I haven’t had time to read the first three but am moving them up my To Be Read (TBR) list. Hopefully, I’ll get to them before the end of the year.

This is the 5th installment of the Bay Island Psychic series. Cass Donovan a psychiatrist who moved back to her home on Bay Island running a psychic shop. She is getting messages from the other side but they are not exactly clear. Rumors of a ghost at the lighthouse as well as pirate treasure circulating makes her wonder if that is what her warnings are about. The lighthouse keeper falls to his death and Cass is convinced it is murder. There are lots of suspects as the lighthouse keeper and tour operator has not been a faithful husband and was not a really great person. This an entertaining paranormal mystery. Cass is surrounded by her friends Bee and Stephanie and the ending is really touching. Good series.

‘Received this book through NetGalley for an honest review.’
This is the 5th book in a series, but everything is set up and explained well enough that I didn’t have any confusion for not having read the first 4 books. I like the paranormal aspects of the book. Cass can speak to the dead and owns a psychic shop. Someone is murdered and she tries to help by speaking to the dead and receiving warnings. It was entertaining, but there was hardly any mystery because from the start I knew who the killer was and most of the why. There wasn’t a surprise twist or anything, so it was very obvious. There were too many descriptions of locking doors, eating at the diner and feeding the dog that I started to get bored.
However, the ending was very sweet and brought a few tears to my eyes. I’m happy things ended well.

Another great book by Lena Gregory! I’m always happy to see a new book released in this series. The characters are original as are the story lines. In Grave Consequences, Cass’s psychic abilities lead her to the local lighthouse where the lighthouse keeper has suspiciously fallen to his death A growing list of suspects, competing voices from beyond the grave that can’t be silenced and Cass’s unstoppable drive to find the truth make this a light entertaining read.

This is an enjoyable series, and I quite like the characters.
I really appreciate the way in which Cass uses her gift to help solve the whodunit.
I recommend this book.
I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book.

The suspicious death of a lighthouse keeper draws draws Case Donovan into the search for the truth, as well as pirate's treasure, in this entertaining paranormal mystery. While the din of voices from other side convinces Cass that it was murder, she struggles to discern the warnings and messages. As in the other books in the series, Cass is accompanied with friends Bee and Stephanie who will charm you. Psychics, ghosts and pirates enliven this tale and will provide you with several hours of escape. Thanks to netgalley and the publisher for the opportunity to read this book in exchange for an honest review

Love this series. Cass, Bess, and stephanie set out to investigate when someone is killed. Will cass find the killer before they kill again. Read the book to find out

For some odd reason, I missed the two books before this one having read the second one in the series. However, I was able to dive right in like I had never left. Cass is an interesting character and has grown quite a bit since I last saw her in the second book. I just love Bree and Stephanie, although I wish I had a little more description of them; I had a hard time picturing them in my mind. The mystery was excellent in this book, and the very end had me balling like a baby. Why, you ask? Read it and find out. This is an excellent cozy paranormal mystery (not a lot of paranormal) with a good plot and great characters. Highly recommend! I was provided a complimentary copy which I voluntarily reviewed.
