Absolutely loved this book.
Ellie's husband Seth invites Ace a friend of his cousins to dinner. The whole family seem to love him. Ellie finds herself feeling a sense of attraction towards him that she knows she shouldn't.
So when Seth invites Ace to stay without asking his wife, their marriage starts to take a turn for the worse.
Along side this Brandon Ellie's son finds himself being questioned by the police over the disappearance of local girl Jasmine who was his high school bully.

The story unfolds with not everything being as it seems. I wouldn't really categorise this as a psychological thriller but none the same I really enjoyed it. The dissertation of a marriage, gender roles, murder and insecurities is done really well. All the themes are handled so well and thats what makes the book such an easy read.

Its hard to review the book without giving away the plot line too much but I must admit I loved it. 5 stars.
Thank you netgalley, Cathryn Grant and the publishers for a digital copy of this book in exchange for a fair and honest review.

I've decided that this just isnt the author for me, this is now the 3rd book I have read but I just cant connect with any of them which is disappointing.

The premise had me excited and instantly grabbed my attention but once I started it my interest just wained and my mind found itself floating off elsewhere.

The characters felt one dimensional and I didnt feel a connection with any of them, they just felt a bit 'meh'.

Personally I wouldn't stick this in the thriller genre, yes its has lots of unexpected twists and turns as promised but the whole thing just felt flat.

It felt like there were way too many filler chapters and what's with all the food and wine talk? There were paragraphs full of prepping meals!!!

Sorry to say but this was just a whole heap of disappointment for me.

Thanks to netgalley and Inkubater Books UK for the ARC.

A twisty, mystery, thriller that I could not put down! I read this one in 2 days! Perfect for a summer thriller read, and I highly enjoyed it! Started out as a family drama, and ended nicely with a twist!

Thank you to Netgalley for my copy in exchange for a review.

what a twisty story. Ellie has a loving husband and two sons, but the balance is upset when Ace comes to stay with them. Suspense builds while exploring family drama.

This was definitely an interesting read. Seth and Ellie are a reasonably successful couple with two kids, Brandon and Simone. As far as Ellie is concerned, things may not be as fiery between her and Seth as they used to be, but hey, that’s normal for couples who have been married for a while, right? However, things take a turn, and it is not for the better. Seth invites, Ace, a friend of his cousin to stay with them. Now it seems as if the bottom has fallen out. Brandon is having trouble at school, Seth is acting strange and keeping secrets, and Ace…well, she finds herself attracted to him. And this is just the beginning. Although, I figured out part of the plot about midway thru, this was an enjoyable read. It is a thriller with lots of twists and turns. Thank you to NetGalley, the author and publisher for the opportunity to review this book.

Thank you to NetGalley for my digital copy!

I’m giving this book 5 stars... and here’s why:

Wow! This story had me all kinds of paranoid! I finished the book rather quickly because of the pacing and my need to know how it would end. After reading this book, I don’t want to invite anyone over...🤭

If you love domestic suspense/psychological thrillers, read The Guest!

This book was rather a family drama, but then near the end, it becomes a fast pacing thriller. Wow, I did not expect this ending, good good.
Thank you, NetGalley for this book.

Im always up for a good physiological thriller and this book was alright it moved a little slow at times. But was also twisty and edge of your seat at times as well. Elle knew from the beginning something was up with the man her husband invited in to their home. I gave it 3 stars. I would recommend it to a friend. Edited to because I totally wrote this in a hurry and did not mention that Netgalley was so wonderful and nice enough to let me review this book

The Guest by Cathryn Grant

Her husband invites a guest for dinner, and the he stays for much longer.

Ellie is married with 2 children and owns an art gallery.

When Ace comes to dinner she is intrigued, confused, a bit attracted and apprehensive.
As time passes she adjusts to having him there, interacting with her family.

There is drama and secrets and suspense and I read this in a day it was that good!

My thanks to the athor, publisher and NetGalley for the honest review in exchange for a complimentary ebook.

Unfortunately, this book did nothing for me. Talk about a story that literally goes no where. Through the first 85% of the read I was tempted to give up. My perseverance prevailed. I will admit the story finally had a bit of a twist. Thanks, NetGalley for the opportunity to read the book.

How far would you go to protect your family? The main character in this book, is a mother who is caring in a way that borders on obsessive. When a young girl is found murdered, the finger of suspicion is pointed at the son, and it is up to the mother to prove he didn't do it. Things are further complicated by her husband, who is acting strangely, and a man who the husband has invited to stay against his wife's wishes. Although attracted to him, she is highly suspicious of him, and suspects that he has something to do with the murder.
This book is full of twists, and leads you on a journey to a thrilling conclusion that you probably won't have seen coming. Thank you Netgalley and the Publishers for giving me the opportunity of reading this highly recommended title.

This was a very fast paced book which definitely had my mind spinning trying to figure all out! It was one that definitely provided tons of twists and turns and shocks! While, something wasn’t quite connected as smoothly as I wanted it to be, it really was a solid 4 star read for me! Looking for a thriller, which provides the must needed thrills, chills, and shocks? Look no further, this book will provide exactly that! May seem to be a bit of a mess, but overall definitely worth the read!

This book has lots of twists & I kept reading to find out how the author tied things together. It was a little disjointed of a story for me, not including particularly developed characters for me to get attached to. But it was a suspenseful story that I think will appeal to a lot of thriller fans!
