Due to a sudden, unexpected passing in the family a few years ago and another more recently and my subsequent (mental) health issues stemming from that, I was unable to download this book in time to review it before it was archived as I did not visit this site for several years after the bereavements. This meant I didn't read or venture onto netgalley for years as not only did it remind me of that person as they shared my passion for reading, but I also struggled to maintain interest in anything due to overwhelming depression. I was therefore unable to download this title in time and so I couldn't give a review as it wasn't successfully acquired before it was archived. The second issue that has happened with some of my other books is that I had them downloaded to one particular device and said device is now defunct, so I have no access to those books anymore, sadly.

This means I can't leave an accurate reflection of my feelings towards the book as I am unable to read it now and so I am leaving a message of explanation instead. I am now back to reading and reviewing full time as once considerable time had passed I have found that books have been helping me significantly in terms of my mindset and mental health - this was after having no interest in anything for quite a number of years after the passings. Anything requested and approved will be read and a review written and posted to Amazon (where I am a Hall of Famer & Top Reviewer), Goodreads (where I have several thousand friends and the same amount who follow my reviews) and Waterstones (or Barnes & Noble if the publisher is American based). Thank you for the opportunity and apologies for the inconvenience.

I had a few download issues with the book and by the time it was sorted, the file had unfortunately been achieved.

A surprisingly spiritual book, Ashley Cantley's High-Vibe Feng Shui is a personal guide to how powerful Feng Shui can be. Cantley discusses at length her own personal experiences, her thoughts and her feelings, making this non-fiction book extremely informative and personable. It's a modern take on how to align the energy in your space which was extremely refreshing. I found a lot of the book to be very 'take it or leave it' however as points were often repeated across chapters and was geared more towards homeowners rather than renters. Nonetheless, a great read for entry-level Feng Shui explorers.

If you know anything about feng shui then this isn't the book for you. If you're looking for a book for someone who has no knowledge of feng shui or new age practices then this could be a starting point for them.

prompts of things to do or write. Bringing in techniques to a modern reader / more accessible to today. Overall nicely done and organized.

This attractive, well laid out book has a very specific aesthetic, for the financially secure liberal white woman who shops at Whole Foods and unhesitatingly appropriates other cultures. I've enjoyed books about feng shui in the past, so I was willing to give it a try, hoping that the author had some credibility, but I couldn't get past the point where she recommends smudging with sage. The sage that many Native American cultures use for religious purposes is being harvested into extinction so that that spoiled rich white folks can appropriate a practice that isn't theirs. It's gross. If you feel offended by my above description, and/or identify with that demographic, this detailed cutesy pink, purple, and grey illustrated manual may be just the culturally appropriative resource for you and your home. Eat Pray Love!

Taking a different approach than the normal books with the same theme, this one offers guidance instead of rules. It gives you ways to use what's inside to balance your thoughts, feelings, and energy.

For those seeking the love of any kind, you must start with yourself without seeking outside first. You can't truly know what you desire without knowing yourself first.

Right after I was received the book, I not only got confirmation about the new house I was planning on moving to but also the dates and details. Thinking nothing could be as opportune, I started reading this book and I like to think that it helped.

While self-help is not a genre I read often, I enjoyed reading this book. Full of the author's personal experiences and stories of how what she is teaching has helped her, there is a sense of realness behind the words. Each of the steps that are put-forth comes with alterations, additions, subtractions and many other possible permutations and combinations. This allows for a very customisable guide to Feng Shui that can be followed by most. From the broke college student that is me to the high power executive, this book covers ways in which Feng Shui can be practised and applied by a wide variety of people. The fundamental practices of Feng Shui are carefully explained as are how they can be implemented.

With a look at how Feng Shui can be practically applied, the author also takes the time to explain the fundamental principles that line the practices and the different ways in which can be approached. I can honestly say that I found the explanation of every square on the Bagua map helpful and also very enlightening. What I liked more, however, was the different personally tried and tested methods of implementing the elements and rituals. They offered an insight into the way through which this practice can be adapted to suit placed I didn’t think Feng Shui could be applied to.

While I found the Feng Shui guide helpful, what I loved the most and what I am taking away from this book is something that is in the very beginning. An idea that is introduced in the very first pages and continues to present itself in each and every modification provided. This is the idea that Feng Shui is not just about inviting good energy into your home and life. It is about inviting energy that will help you move towards the goals in life that you want to achieve. The author is clear in one thing—simply placing things in squares will not achieve the energy or impact that you wish. You have to carefully re-evaluate your intentions and what you wish to manifest and arrange the home accordingly. It is only with constant and careful, intentional curation that the energy that enters your home can bring you the life that you want.

I’ve always been intrigued by Feng Shui. This book was engaging and practical. The book encourages you to find the better flow for your life.

Thank you to the Publisher and Netgalley for the advanced e-reader copy. All opinions expressed are my own.

This was an easy, quick read and I did find some bits interesting. I have studied Feng Shui and have adopted many of the aspects which make sense for my home and I suppose I was looking for some more clarification. This started well with describing what Feng Shui means but then seemed to dwell on the basics and the more emotional side in a very modern untraditional view.
I was disappointed but it may suit a person who is just looking to get a basic understanding of how to reach the safety and tranquility that practising Feng Shui provides.

This is a self-help book that is worth reading straight through, rather than dipping, in order to get the basics and the "big picture". Then you can refer to it knowing which section you need. The author keeps the concepts simple and her obvious enthusiasm shines through as she explains how Feng Shui has changed her life. The basic premise of Feng Shui is that everything is energy and because everything is energy, we can actually be much more in control of our lives and environment than we probably realise - we do not always have to be a victim of our circumstances!! Change our limiting beliefs and clear our own space changes our energy so that our circumstances may change for the better and sometimes in amazing ways!

The author talks about connecting to the Universal Mind and that we already have access to all knowledge because if we do not over-think but tap into it then it feeds us "ideas" through intuition. Tapping into and heeding your intuition is important because it is relevant for you and the way that you interact with people and the world.

My favourite part of the book was the section on de-cluttering, an activity we can all benefit from as when our space is clear and clean it reflects in our body and mind - it is a de-tox and a great place to start even if you do nothing else you will have improved your life and personal energy.

This book is full of interesting ideas even if you don't feel to try all of them you can dip in and out as the mood takes you.

3.5 rounded to 4 stars

It's a good introduction but very specific to the author's own personal preferences and experiences. I would have liked a little less personal spirituality and more focus on the specific process of feng shui but overall an alright introduction.

Can't comment on illustrations/pictures as they weren't shown in the ebook gifted to me via netgalley in exchange for honest opinion.

--Not My Cup of Cha--

I received an advanced review copy from the publisher through NetGalley, and here are my thoughts.

Although a highly attractive and perky book, full of cheerful, well intended advice, and many on target suggestions on how to improve your environment and your life, this book is not for me. I found it to be repetitive (literally the same sentence or phrase peppered throughout), too full of New Age advice that has been repeated so often, they are now clichés, and the eleven steps felt like "here's everything I've learned and I want to put everything in this one single book"!!!

The reader would be better served if there were far fewer steps, all of which focused on Feng Shui principles and Decluttering. That would be enough for most people to get started and make a positive change in their life. Instead, the book throws in so much information, it reads like a New Age "kitchen sink" from 10 years ago.

There is copious usage of bullet points. Bullet points are handy, yes, but more than say 5 or 6 bullet points, starts to be tiring to keep track of. Many pages are one long string of bullet points. Some of these should have been condensed into a short paragraph to decrease visual clutter!

The illustrations are very pretty, and could be even more useful if there were more of them with room diagrams that help illustrate the concepts the author is trying to get across.

I would only recommend this book if you've never read anything about Feng Shui, and don't mind reading about mantras, vision boards, and the law of attraction (ho hum) again, then this could be a good book.

The author has a very sparkly energy that is lovely, and certainly this book should appeal to feng shui newbies.

I love the purple/pink feminine graphics, and I think this is the most ATTRACTIVE Feng Shui book I have read, which could be made much better through precise editing and rethinking the page layout.

A really engaging read - I thought this guide was vibrant and fresh, and I loved how spiritual it was, as well as being practical in nature. At times this was very straightforward, with a program to follow and ways of visualising these ideas; and yet it felt flexible also, not a rule book to follow but more an invitation to invite better flow through your life.

Thank you Netgalley for the ARC
For someone who has absolutely no history with Feng Shui, I found this book very informative especially in regard to selling up the layout to how it works. It is not only about rearranging your home but your mindset.
I think the layout of the book could use a little work. I didn't really understand the jump into the "Congratulations you have a personal activation ritual!" without really laying out how or why, but that might be an editing error.
This book also touches on numerous other spirituality practices that can coexist with Feng Shui.
I found the Elemental Energy section to be very overwhelming and disorganized.
I do like that the author lays out Feng Shui rules but says there is no need to adhere to them if something doesn't sit with you. It makes the process less intimidating.
I particularly liked the ‘Home Hot Spots’ section because it is not only very simple and informative - this section covers “enhanc[ing] these hot spots to raise your energy and increase happiness in your life.” I think if I was to have just one Feng Shui book on my bookshelf, this might be it.

Who does not like a book dedicated to feng shui that discusses the secret, inner wisdom of this subjects and add in what they can teach us and how to use them in our practice. Feng Shui, for me at least, is very daunting and a little confusing when I have tried to learn about it in the past. This book was perfect for me, as a very spiritual person and as someone who was afraid of Feng Shui and not quite understanding what it was about and how to use it, and I really enjoyed what this book had to offer. This book would make an excellent gift too!

Easy to read and very accessible for someone with little prior knowledge of feng shui (apart from what I've heard on home decorating shows). I like that the author started by clearing up several misconceptions about feng shui, which I guiltily admit I had several of. I love that the author gave detailed, concrete actions that the reader could take in order to incorporate feng shui into heir lives immediately.

I received a copy of High Vibe Feng Shui as an ARC. Thanks to Netgalley and Storey Publishing for the Copy. My review is my own opinion.

I enjoyed this book although it was a different take on Feng Shui than I have seen in the past. This brought it up to date. It took ideas from other ideals in modern life like the law of attraction and it mixed it in with the ideas as well.

A beautifully written easy to follow book and I would go back to it and follow the plans.

Willpost my Amazon review once the book is published, Good Luck :)

High-Vibe Feng Shui is well structured with a great balance between practical exercises and information. It explains concepts simply and succinctly. This is a great book for beginners on the subject, as well as those already familiar with Feng Shui who are seeking a refresher or exercises to do.

I only started reading this today and finished already.

This book makes everything about Feng Shui easy to understand. No jargon, all helpful information.

I’d recommend people read this as it’s easy to understand. I do however feel the formatting could have been better with the book. The text was a very light grey which made reading difficult. This however is not the authors fault therefore I still gave a solid 4 stars.
