I absolutely loved The Day She Came Back by Amanda Prowse. I felt as if I related to the main character, Victoria in more ways then one. I felt as if I cried with her and had to be strong with her when she needed me.

Victoria is like any young woman, she has a hard time trusting others. Her mother passed away when she was younger and was very close to her grandmother. When her grandmother, Primerose passes away, Victoria has a hard time like most of us would. She decides to put on a strong face and be strong for those around her. What Victoria doesn't know is that her life is about to change when she meets someone at her grandma's funeral.

This woman is claiming to be her mother and Victoria's whole world is about to be turned upside down. Who can she really trust? Was she as close to her grandma as she thought she was? I felt that Prowse did a fabulous job at keeping the reader invested!

I was so excited to see Amanda Prowse releasing another book as she is one of my favourite authors and I love the way her characters jump off the page and suck me in.

This story focuses around Victoria, Prim and Sarah, three very amazing ladies. The characters are well described throughout with character traits and physical appearances being drip fed into the story, as I continued to read I felt as if I was watching the story play out in front of me.

Set between the beauty of Oslo where Amanda always speaks fondly of and the gorgeous family home Rosebank in Surrey with its gorgeous garden room and lake. This book grabs you from the first few chapters and takes you on a journey through addiction, bereavement, love and loss. The emotions are so raw they gave me goosebumps as I felt the intensity of the pain these wonderful ladies were experiencing.

I flew through this book as I wanted to keep reading to see where the path Victoria was walking would take her and now feel bereft as I no longer get to read about these fantastic characters. Amanda Prowse always knows to create an emotionally charged read and this book ticks that box and then some. A superb read that is well worthy of its 5 stars!!

Amanda really does amaze me with how she draws you into the narrative. A heart wrenching tale of a young woman losing her beloved grandmother and being left all alone or so she thought!
