This was my first read from Victoria Cooke and I really enjoyed it.

I was pretty much hooked from the very beginning of the story which about Kat and her 'Heavenly Hunks' group who work around the canary islands. This was the perfect mix for a summer a read and it has plenty of laughs but also had some emotion at times too. I loved Jay's character as soon as he was introduced. It's a very quick paced read with plenty of drama to keep you hooked throughout and some moments where I was hoping things would change for Kat. I loved that also kept trying to picture the locations from my own visits to the canary islands too.

Overall this was a great beach, garden or summer's read which I would highly recommend. I'll also be checking out Victoria's other books too.

I loved this story about a woman who tries to start a new life for herself after struggling to overcome an abusive relationship. Kat was such an inspirational character. I really connected to her. And the setting, Canary Island, made me feel like I was reading this book while on vacation!

Gorgeous sun-drenched read set in the Canaries, which I gobbled up in one sitting. Not my usual book but a fascinating look in 'male performers'' and expat life in general. Hysterical in parts but also with a depth to the MC that had me flicking those pages at top speed.

I will be truthful, I had to put this book down after reading 20%. From the offset I didn't find myself engrossed in the writing. I felt it was quite simple for my liking (this is not to say others will not enjoy it) just...I didn't enjoy it. If I were to continue reading I would be doing so to purely reach the end. Like I say, other readers who connect more with the authors voice and writing may find theirselves feeling completely different.

A perfect beach read with a touch more set in the Canary Islands with just a splash of Las Vegas. After a bad marriage, which you find out about a snippet at a time, Lat leaves the UK and heads to the Canary Islands town of Tenerife to get away and have a fresh start. She builds an entertainment business in which she manages a group of exotic male dancers. Kat is there “mother” figure and never mixes business with pleasure, an easy easy to do feat since she’s sworn of dating for the past eight years following her bad marriage. And then the story unfolds! There was a point in the book where I was actually brought to tears because I felt Kat’ pain so strongly. When you feel the characters emotions that strongly you know you’ve found a well written book! #SunSeaandSangria #NetGalley #VictoriaCooke

I think the story had great potential, which is the main reason why I was drawn to this book at first. But I found myself struggling to read the book and I couldn't really relate or sympathize with the characters. I found Kat too sensitive that it was kind of absurd in some situations. I know she used to have a verbally abusive husband but calling a person controlling because they ordered on her behalf a plate she told them looked good was a little over the top.
On the other hand, I liked the way the author painted a picture of a strong, independent woman. As I previously said, the story line had good potential but there was something missing in the writing and the characters, and that made it harder for me to finish reading the book.

Thanks to Netgalley and the publishers for an advanced copy of this book.

Kat left her controlling husband and started life anew in Tenerife as the manager of a successful team of male exotic dancers. When, Jay, a new dancer joins the group they form a friendship and start to share their demons.

The story is set in both Tenerife and Las Vegas with great descriptions of the places that make you feel you are there. I loved all of the boys and their respect for Kat but for some reason I couldn’t quite take to her. I found her background seemed to drag on too long and I got frustrated with her indecisiveness, especially how she carried on when the boys were in Vegas and she was in Tenerife being supported by Andrea (another great character and true friend).

My favourite character was Jay – everyone could do with having him in their life.

This is definitely a sunny holiday beach read and I’m scoring it 3.5 stars as I didn’t really like Kat.

Such a good book! I adored the loveable Kat and her team of exotic dancers, sunny, the setting of the beautiful Canary Islands, romance (will they? Won't they?). It was a fantastic read for summer, perfect beach read, it kept me entertained, laughing and smiling all the way through! Such a fun story!

What a great read for the summer!
Nice and easy to read, with a fab and realistic storyline which I have to say actually brought a huge lump to my throat at one point which is very unusual.
Only downside is that the book didn't contain photos of the Heavenly Hunks hahahaha.

Kat's rebuilt her life in Tenerife (love it!) after leaving her abusive ex. She manages the Heavenly Hunks, a group of hot dancing guys, but she doesn't engage with them in a romantic way. And then Jay comes along and he's different- he listens to her in a way her ex never did. Unfortunately, the Hunks are having difficulty getting gig and everyone's facing a challenge- Las Vegas! Cooke does a good job of building the back stories of both Kat and Jay (not as simple as you might think initially) as well as in reading the atmosphere in the Canary Islands and Vegas. You might guess how this will end but gosh it has a unique way of getting there. Thanks to Netgalley for the ARC. A fun read with good characters you will root for.

I've read and enjoyed all of Victoria Cooke's books, but this is up there in my top two, alongside A Summer To Remember.
Set primarily in the Canary Islands, but latterly in Las Vegas, it follows Kat — manager of all-male dance troupe The Heavenly Hunks — as she battles the odds in a diminishing market to find new gigs and keep the act afloat. Kat is nursing a damaged heart after an eight-year relationship that battered her self-esteem and ability to trust, When she meets the enigmatic (and drop-dead gorgeous) Jay, her defences start to crumble. But Jay is harbouring his own dark secret, and it's far from clear if the two of them can conquer their demons and find true happiness.
I loved all the detail about the locations, the back stories of the Hunks and — of course — their raunchy and crowd-pleasing routines. I went with friends many years ago to see a similar act, who cancelled at the last minute. Reading this book made me smile and transported me to a world of sunshine, sea and a drop or two of sangria. Perfect for these troubling times, and filled with so much warmth and wit. Take this line for example — 'The red one (dress) that I thought would bring out the blue in my eyes is too tight, and the beige one makes me look naked from afar, and not in a hot Instagram way but more of an erotic potato sort of way.'
Even if a beach holiday seems an unlikely dream right now, I recommend you pull up a sun lounger, pour yourself something fruity and potent, and settle down for a delicious and entertaining read.

Wow, wow, wow, I never thought anything would beat The Holiday Cruise, as my favourite Victoria Cooke book (and I still want a sequel to it!), but I think this may have done - its just what I needed!!

.....hot men
....Canary Island location
.... exotic dance troup
.... sangria
.... a will they, won't they romance?
... some bad blind dates
... all Canary Island talent contest featuring some fabulous acts
.... an all around fabulous feel good book that really got me hot under the collar!

I was hooked from the first few moments of this book, from the first mentions of oil, and that first performance we see of The Heavenly Hunks - think Magic Mike-esuqe entertainment. Given I saw Magic Mike Live earlier this year before lockdown, I could really picture just about all the scenes of the Hunks so so clearly.

Anyone that knows me knows I love holiday style entertainment, and I'm quite happy to go to a ticketed extravaganza of a show whether on holiday or at home, so everything about this book appealed to me. Add in a Canary Islands location, featuring Tenerife, Gran Canaria and a small stint in Lanzarote, a set of island I know fairly well, and this really is just the perfect book for me.

I read it in one hot afternoon in the garden, and well felt even hotter while reading it. This is perfect poolside, beach, garden reading, or even on a cold winters day if you want to feel a whole lot warmer!

It's a story that hit all the right buttons with me, it had me laughing and also on the verge of tears at points, as we see how Kat is trying her best to manage the hunks, and also we get snippets of just what happened in her past, that led to her living in Tenerife for 8 years.

And Jay, what can I say about Jay, other than gimme.... I want him in my life!! And the rest of the boys really had a soft spot in my heart too.

There is so much going on in this book that its really quite fast paced, and I loved every single second of it. I want more from this location, I'd love to see more from the Hunks, and generally I just want more Victoria Cooke books, like this that hit all right notes for me.

I love, loved, loved it.... gimme more! Now why isn't there a pool anywhere near here, I need to cool off?!!!

Thank you to HQ Digital and Netgalley for this copy which I have reviewed honestly and voluntarily.

I wasn't a big fan of this book. I had a hard time liking the main character. I felt so frustrated with the decisions she was making. I didn't really see the relationship between her and Jay. It was okay for a light afternoon read but I don't think I'll be recommending it to friends.

If it's escapism you're after, then best get this book and head to the. beautiful Canary Islands. And what about meeting a bunch of male exotic dancers? The Heavenly Hunks no less.

Kat is the woman who works with them and gets bookings over the islands. It sounds like a fun life but working with such men means she isn't seen as date material, or at least that's what she thinks. There's something interesting and hot here and it's not just the island's sun!

The Canary island and the world of the nightlife in Tenerife is fun. great to be there when you can't go for real!

A fun beach read (with your own heavenly hunk walking by perhaps)

Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for providing a copy for review.

This was a fun, quick read. I really liked the setting for this one. The friendships between Kat and the boys was cute. Andi was an awesome girl friend. Also she had a good head on her shoulders. I liked the relationship between Kat and Jay as well. Kat annoyed me at times, mainly due to bullheaded stubbornness of not listening to people. Overall though this was a cute, light read that I enjoyed quite a bit.

An easy going read about a like able lady called Kat who has escaped to the Canary Islands following a disastrous marriage to a manipulative bully. Kat focuses on her career managing The Heavenly Hunks avoiding dating and romance. When love comes knocking on her door she runs in the opposite direction. Can she thaw her heart and let love in?

A plesant book. A nice story set in the Canary Islands and Las Vegas. I read it in an evening. I like that you shouldn't mix love and work. Also a trust element had to be overcome and friends mean a lot. A nice read

I would like to thank HQ Digital for asking me to review this book and to be apart of the blog tour.
Sun, Sea and Sangria is a book that really takes you away from your live. It is a perfect way to escape. It was an delight to read and funny in places. Kat's story has a dark side to it but it is told is such a way that it gives you enough background to understand why the character acts in the way she does without completely taking over the story. The characters in this story are really well rounded and each have brilliant personalities that create great moments in the story.
I loved this read. The settings are places that I have not visited myself but were described in such a way that you felt like you were right there. I loved the settings.
A brilliant read summer read.

A quick and easy summer romance read. Kat runs an exotic dance group of men in the Canary Islands. When she left her abusive husband, she struggled to trust men again, but then she meets Jay. A good story, and makes for an easy take along book. Would recommend.
