This is the 2nd book in Katie Ginger's Swallowtail Bay series. I haven't read the 1st one, but that didn't prevent me from enjoying this book. The story is about an event planner, Hetty, who is on the lookout for a place to hold her town's annual Strawberry Food Festival and return it to its past glory, and the aristocratic John.

What a delightful and feel-good read! The book has it all, lovable characters, especially Hetty was amazing, gorgeous settings, and a heartwarming story. I'm looking forward to reading more books by Katie Ginger. Thanks to Netgalley and the publisher, HQ Digital, for providing me with an ARC of this book.

A big YES for this book, the second part of the Swallowtail Bay series by Katie Ginger! I already enjoyed very much the first time and I really enjoyed this second part that you can read separately from the first time, you will still understand what's going on in the story. I really enjoyed the storyline but mainly I enjoyed getting to know the main characters. They are so lovely and charming and the romance part in the book is very well written. I loved this book!!! Can't wait to read the third part to this series!!!!! I highly recommend this author and this book!

Hetty runs a very successful event planning company and while at a business forum for the town decides to revive the strawberry festival that the town of swallowtail bay used to hold. The only trouble is getting space big enough for all Hettys ideas! Enter John Thornhill. His family owns several fields not in use and a house that’s falling down around his ears. When Hetty tells John that allowing her to use his grounds for the festival will be profitable, he reluctantly agrees. Both are taking a massive risk...will it pay out in more ways than one?

This book was a delight. It had a nice slow burn between the two love interests with enough conflict that made it ‘will they/won’t they’ without being eye rolling. It was a quick read and fun! I highly recommend this book and can’t wait to go back to swallowtail bay!

Hetty is trying to find ways of expanding her events planning business in Swallowtail Bay when she decides to try and revitalise the town strawberry festival which used to be a major event but has now shrunk to not much more than a jumble sale...... only trouble is it is in 4 weeks time! The best place to hold it is on the Thornhill Estate but the Thornhills keep to themselves and don't mix with the town so can she persuade John to open their gates....... and more to the point can she keep her mind on her business and not on John!

Another lovely book, Swallowtail Bay is certainly somewhere you would like to visit and there are some great characters and lots of fun. Perfect light hearted summer read

4☆An Uplifting, Entertaining, Lighthearted Romance that will leave you Smiling and Giggling

Summer Strawberries at Swallowtail Bay is the Second book in the Series but can be read as a standalone with ease

Hetty is determined to revive Swallowtail Bay's Strawberry Festival and make it special. She has four weeks to get everything prepared and organised for the big event.

There is just one thing standing in her way...John Thornhill. He's not the most popular person but she needs him if she is to make the Festival a success. But convincing him to let them hold the Festival on his land, might be harder than she thought!

I loved Hetty she's fun, loveable, relatable and her zest and passion for planning and organising shone through.
John is a little more reclusive, grumpy, blending into the background. So watching the two come together was heart warming and melted my heart to see them blossom.

With ups and downs, some laugh out loud moments, a stunning location and a blossoming romance not to mention the scrumptious Strawberries, this book has a lil bit of everything!
So if you are looking for an Uplifting, Entertaining, Lighthearted Romance that will leave you smiling and giggling and falling in love with Swallowtail Bay and the Endearing Characters, then I highly recommend reading Summer Strawberries at Swallowtail Bay!

Thank you to Rachel Random Resources for this copy which I reviewed honestly and voluntarily.

Summer Strawberries at Swallowtail Bay by Katie Ginger 4stars

The cover enticed me to read this book. This is my first from this author and the premise sounds good. It’s a really feel good summer read. Hetty is a workaholic and likes to be in command. She also wants to expand her party business so she wants to manage the Swallowtail Bay Food festival. Hetty is not discouraged with a NO and will not give up.

Then comes John Thornhill. Handsome and reclusive. John and Hetty discover that they are a good team as they work together for the festival. They can’t help their growing feelings for each other too. I find their moments cute. I don’t like Ben but I guess he gives spice to the story. Hetty’s parents' story is adorable. It tells us that communication is key for a relationship to work.

All the food at the festival makes me hungry. I want to try the sundried tomato bread and the chocolates and many more. Swallowtail Bay sounds like a great place to visit with it’s wonderful views and of course now we have the festival!

It was a fun read. For the romance part, a few kisses and there are talks about living together, getting hot etc.

I'm not going to lie, I have been so looking forward to reading another novel by Katie Ginger ever since I read the first book in this series. I absolutely loved it so I couldn't wait to read this one. The cover is so pretty and eye-catching and I love the strawberries and sweat treats that are lined along the bottom! And of course the bright blue sea and colourful bunting gives it a summery vibe. However, it did take me a little while to get into.

I'm not sure why because the location of this book is just perfect. I love the sound of the shops, cafe's as well as the beach and the pub, but I just found it a little slow at first. I didn't fully relate nor warm to Hetty and John at first and this was probably because of all the formalities at their meetings, it just seemed a little bit too high and mighty for my liking. However, once the meetings got out the way, I started to enjoy the storyline a bit more.

Once the story got going, I started to like the characters a little better and was starting to look forward to the food festival myself! It sounded like it was going to be amazing, especially with the funfair and the film screening. I could understand why John was the way he was, he was under a lot of financial and home stress so of course he was going to be a little standoffish. I wasn't a huge fan of his family, they all seemed quite stuck up and quite rude, especially Felix.

What I found a little confusing was Hetty's relationship woes. It was clear for me to see that she had feelings for John, the way she felt a sizzle every time she saw him made it pretty obvious! But, she also still had feelings for ex-boyfriend Ben, who has his own bakery in the bay. I wasn't a huge fan of Ben, simply because he seemed so sure of himself and sometimes just plain cocky. I'm not sure what Hetty see in him, but when he came up to her and was convinced they would get back together, it made me go right off him!

Overall, this was a lighthearted read but unfortunately wasn't my favourite by this author, I'm not sure what it was but it just didn't really hold my attention. I am looking forward to reading her other novels however, as I really enjoyed the first Swallowtail Bay book. Thank you to the publisher for a chance to read an advance copy of this novel via Netgalley, which I have reviewed honestly.

I enjoyed the first book in Swallowtail Bay and this one was just as good. Excellent characters, interesting plot and just an overall heartwarming and lighthearted story. I highly recommend this for a good feeling, which is welcome at the moment.

This book had just right amount of the drama to fully enjoy it. If you could even call it drama. But it was something that would keep you on your toes and make you keep reading or want to read even when you are not able to do so.

My favorite character was Hetty for sure. I loved how determinated she is and how she is not giving up even after receiving a “no”. You could almost feel her passion towards the food festival. Even if she is successful in her job, she is still down to Earth and caring which is something that I appreciate a lot, and would hope to be if I ever become successful.

If you love strawberries and would love to travel to English village to a food festival, get this book and go on holidays. Take yourself out on a date and try so many delicious foods and enjoy everything that comes with a food festival; games, rides and good company of the community.

Thank you to @netgalley for an opportunity to read and review this book. I really enjoyed the lingo in this book. It is a perfect light feeling summer romance with a slow burn progression. The characters are likable and the food festival and location sound absolutely dreamy. I typically like a little bit more steam with my romance, but it was still lovely

Summer is in full swing and the locals are getting excited for the launch of the Swallowtail Bay strawberry food festival. But will all run smoothly when festival organiser Hetty’s heart is torn between lord of the manor John Thornhill and successful bakery owner Ben?

Hetty wants to revive the strawberry festival but there isn't anywhere's to hold it except for the mad of the Thornhills. The festival committee says good luck and there is one member who doesn't think Hetty can do the festival at all. So she goes knocking on John Thornhill's door asking him if they use some of their land. his answer is a big NO but she is not going to give up and will wear him down.
This book was so much fun to read and I really wanted to be a part of the town and the festival.

I received this from NetGalley for review.
