I absolutely love Talia Hibbert and also the Brown sisters. Take a Hint, Dani Brown was so good. I was worried that it wouldn't live up to my expectations after loving Get a Life, Chloe Brown so much but I think I preferred Dani and Zafir. Loved that she's bisexual (more bisexual women, please!) loved the social media aspects, that he's involved in a children's charity. It felt like this book was written specifically for me. Plus, swoonworthy romance! More from Talia Hibbert!

OMG I LOVED THIS BOOK!! I was a massive fan of number one in this series Get a life Chole Brown but this one is 10 times better. I adore Dani and how she is wonderfully flawed, unapologetic and feisty, and Zaffy well I'm totally in love with him!! I loved the way this book spoke about anxiety and it really made me feel seen as a lot of the things Zaffy felt linked to his anxiety is exactly how I feel.

I can't wait to read book three in this series but I really don't think it will beat this one

After how much I loved Get A Life Chloe Brown I was disappointed that I didn't love this one as much. Don't get me wrong it was still an enjoyable story but I just couldn't get into it as much. I really liked Zafirs character he had many different layers to him and I really liked that his side story covered men's mental health as well as his love for romance books. It's a refreshing change to see both this topics take centre stage in a book. I liked Dani's drive and passion for her work and not only her work but knowing what she wants in life and not being afraid to go for it. She's get a healthy sexual appetite and enjoys sex without emotions. What put me off though is thw amount of times we had to hear that she only wanted sex and wanted to sit on a man's face. It got a it boring after a while and for me it detracted a bit from the story. I'm enjoy this authors writing and am looking forward to reading more of the Brown sisters

Fantastic book. I wasn't expecting to enjoy it as much as the first book but it was extremely engaging and loveable. Dani was such an interesting character for a romance novel, not one I have seen often and it made everything feel fresh and new. I would highly recommend this title

“What you get out of being loved, it’s supposed to be worth the compromise. When it’s good, it makes you want to compromise.”

Review ⭐️ - Thank you to @netgalley for a pre-released ARC copy of this book - it’s taken me ages to get round to both reading and posting my review.

Dani Brown is career driven and doesn’t want a relationship - Zaf is an ex-rugby player, who works for the security in the building Dani works, they are strictly just friends, that is until one day Zaf has to rescue Dani from a lift and it all ends up online. Introducing a fake relationship that is decided to benefit them both, but what follows is so much more than just a fake relationship -

I loved this! The characters have such chemistry from the get go, that you ultimately just want the best for them! It is somewhat predictive but with the important issues covered in such depth, it doesn’t matter! I love the Brown sisters world that Hibbert has created.

Talia Hibbert, writing is so additive! The Brown sibling’s novels cover so many important topics, topics that should be written about so much more often than they are unfortunately - but Hibbert includes them in away that they should be, like they are included and have the chance of happiness - like each and everyone of us deserve. If you aren’t started reading the trilogy of the Brown siblings, I urge you to do so! They are great - feel good novels covering them important topics.

CONTENT warning - Mental health - anxiety & panic attacks and Death of parent & sibling.

Quote 💌 - “The thing about mental health was, you couldn’t take a course of antibiotics and be magically healed. Some people’s brains just thought too much or felt too much or hurt too much, and you had to stay on top of that.”

I had read the predecessor to this book back in 2020 and absolutely loved it, but it took me some time to finally get to the middle Brown sister's story! I am very glad I finally read it and dare I say I enjoyed it more than I did the first book... :O

Dani Brown is an incredible heroine - an ambitious, bisexual, Black young woman in academia who knows what she wants and makes lists for everything. Despite her love life lacking a bit, she definitely feels fulfilled in the bedroom. That is until her and her current sex buddy, Jo, call it off and Danika is left praying to the goddess of love to send her a new sexual interest.

Zafir Ansari, the ex-rugby player turned security guard at the local university - where, coincidentally, Danika worked - is hiding a secret from everyone. Every morning, while checking students ID cards and ensuring that the place does not descend into chaos, in his earbuds play.... romance novel audiobooks. Even Danika is surprised, the first time she discovers his secret interest while delivering his daily morning coffee.

Then, during a security drill in the building, Zaf becomes a hero people didn't know they needed. Unfortunately for the non-commital Dani, everyone now thinks they're a couple. A hot one, at that. The pair decide to go with the flow to help Zaf's side project, but where will this play-pretend lead them to..?

Dani and Zaf must be one of my favourite book couples - their chemistry was so realistic and tense and the romance was incredible. This book has also shot out of the steam scale, I don't think I have ever read another book with SO. MUCH. STEAM! Chloe Brown's book was definitely up there but Danika's story was on a whole another level. Both in terms of steam, characters and plot. Despite feeling like the viral video of Zaf rescuing her was a bit too much at times, the fake relationship took a turn in a direction I expected but wasn't disappointed with.

Talia Hibbert is fast becoming one of my favourite romance authors - her characters are phenomenal. She is such a bold writer and smashes through erotic tensions, fierce love, heart-warming friendship and tough issues related to mental health and abuse. The problem is, Dani and Zaf are perhaps a bit too perfect and I thought their love story was pretty sealed after the first chapter. I also found Dani’s (and the other Brown sisters) vulnerability sometimes too fragile to handle and was potentially a trigger. Overall, Hibbert is a blazing force to follow for the freshest contemporary romance.

I was so lucky to receive a Netgalley Arc of Take A Hint Dani Brown but I had already pre ordered after reading Get a A Life Chloe Brown where Dani makes an appearance and I knew that I needed to read this installment as soon as I could. Here we find Dani who did not believe in romance but wanted Mr Right Now and Zaf the security guard fitted the bill. At the start of the book Talia places a note stating that she hopes she has written about anxiety and loss of a loved one with care. I can say with my hand on heart Talia wrote not beautifully and eloquently about these two subjects, The reason being like Zaf I lost my dad last year and not only was I suffering with grief but also had a relapse in both my Depression and Anxiety. Like Zaf I got help and am doing okay but still have my moments. I loved the banter between Dani and Zaf but my only gripe is that it took a long time for them to finally to get together. Omg let's talk about the sex scenes they were pretty HOT but I wish there was teeny bit more. For all these reasons I had to give this amazing book 5 stars

Absolutely my favourite read of the year! I've since purchased her other books and pre-ordered her book that is coming out next year. I would give it 6 stars if I could!

This is the second book in the brown sister books however you can read them in any order. This book was just as good if not better than the first, we have fake dating troupe which I love and a bi sexual main character and the male lead is just a cinnamon bun.

Well heck, that was just all kinds of awesome! I loved it. So so much.
Dankia Brown is a fantastic main characters, she's sarcastic, smart, is sweet and lovely and romantic and hates 'feeling things'. She is brilliant. Witty and hilarious. Zafir you surly, loveable, sweetheart! Oh you make my heart beat faster, cause you know, he's incredibly hot and is a wonderful human being. What a fabulous story, absolutely brilliant.

This is the second story following the Brown sisters, this time we have Dani. The story is about Dani Brown and Zafir Ansari, a former rugby player who end up fake dating and also as friends with benefits. I won’t go into too much detail as I think this book is pretty well known by now and also you should read it!

I really like Talia Hibbert’s writing style and she makes her characters realistic and flawed. Zaf is a sweet cinnamon roll who just wants to take care of Dani and he is very kind and attuned to her needs without being overbearing. He has anxiety and depression which he is constantly working through. I think it’s great that he is represented in this way rather than shunning male mental health as is often the case in the media. Dani is a great character too- very focussed on her work, stubborn and no-nonsense whilst also having her own insecurities. She is bisexual and importantly, it isn’t used as a way to shame or judge her.

Dani and Zaf were a sweet couple and it was nice to see their relationship bloom from a good friendship. The ending was a little rushed in my opinion but I was happy with how it ended and look forward to Eve’s book!

CW: parental/filial loss, depression, anxiety

Thank you to NetGalley and Little, Brown Book Group UK for an advance reader copy in exchange for an honest review.

I absolutely adored this book, everything about it was so, so good it was an almost perfect romance read for me. I loved Dani and Zafir's relationship dynamic and I've really been enjoying the fake dating trope as of late. I enjoyed this a lot more than Get a Life, Chloe Brown which I honestly thought was slightly disappointing and I rated 3 stars earlier in the year so I was really apprehensive going into this one, but I was pleasantly surprised. I really enjoy Talia Hibbert's writing style and I'm very much looking forward to the third instalment in the Brown Sisters story coming soon.

This book was full of realistic problems people face, fun, unique characters and a brilliant storyline!.
The lead character Dani was likeable, and on many occasions rather relatable!. A wonderful story from beginning to end.

I didn’t think anything could top Get a Life, Chloe Brown but then this absolute gem of a sequel was written!⁣

Dani Brown has categorically given up on relationships. For her, friends with benefits is as far as its ever going to go. Zafir Ansari on the other hand is a hopeless romantic. Despite his gruff exterior as a security guard he can often be found with a smushy romance novel playing through his earphones. When they agree to fake date after a viral video of them gives Zafir’s children’s charity the publicity it desperately needs, who is going to end up catching feelings??⁣

I don’t exactly know what I preferred about this one. I think perhaps I just liked Dani more as a character maybe? I shipped them both SO HARD. Once again, I think Zafir was such an underrated character and he literally made the entire book for me. He has the best support system in place and isn’t afraid to show and speak about his feelings. A true legend.⁣

As with its predecessor, Take a Hint is 10/10 steamy so be mindful if it isn’t your thing/ but its all lovely and consensual and I thought the perfect addition to such a sickly but sweet romance. I challenge you to read this book and not just feel like you’ve spent the past however many hours reading about 2 literal rays of sunshine because its just that cute!!⁣

I would say grief and anxiety are at the forefront of the mental health issues tackled in this bool. As someone who has experienced both I think she did incredible justice to her characters and to the relevance of their experiences in the real world.⁣
