Loved this book!

Dani works at the university, where Zaf is a security guard. After he rescues her during a fire alarm the video of him carrying her out of the building goes viral. Neithter of them is happy about this, but when Zaf finds out it is helping his charity, he ends up fake dating Dani to keep the profile going. She agrees as she thinks this is the sign from the universe that she asked for. He wants for ever, and she wants a fling, so will they have a future together?

Looking forward to the next book in this series.

This was a perfect choice to bring a little happiness into my reading list and has left me feeling so much lighter and optimistic. I can't wait to read about the final Brown sister next year.

This is the second book in the 'Brown Sisters' series but could be read alone. Though I highly recommend reading the first as it was really good! This is a great followup that is sexy and funny with a good dollop of character development! Perfect for a summer read!

This was a lovely follow up book to 'Get a Life, Chloe Brown' and would also work brilliantly on its own. Danika is a strong, smart and brilliant woman who is terrified of letting someone in only for them to hurt her. So many people can relate to that.

Unfortunalty, we don't all have the universe sending us romantic, former pro rugby players that teach kids about emotional health and can lift us like he is Superman. This is why the rest of us read romance novels.

It is time to have a closer look at the life of the second Brown sister, Dani.

Dani is a Ph.D student focused on her work who doesn't want a relationship, the only thing she is interested in is finding a friend with benefits arrangement.
After becoming overnight half of a relationship hashtag all over the university, she things she found the perfect person to have this arrangement with.

Zaf is a former rugby player, he is working as a security guard to the same building as Dani. His favourite pastime is reading romance novels, he has never expected to be famous again, especially as a relationship goal that is.

But faking a relationship with Dani can help bring attention to his charity which helps kids with anxiety. As a bonus, he can spend more time with Dani, who has captured his attention since he first saw her.

Dani is a driven woman who thinks that a relationship will only slow her down. Zaf is a romantic heart who is looking for a happy ending. Those two seem very different, but once the fake dating begins so does the fun.

The fake dating was delicious, I loved the moments where they were wondering what was fake and what not. Zaf was absolutely amazing. His love for romance novels was something that we had in common. The story was full of funny lines which had me laughing so many times. They had incredible chemistry which is only multipled with the clever banter those two share.

I thought it was very enjoyable to see how Cloe and Red were doing. I am excited to see Eve have her story told next.

I received an arc from Little, Brown Book Group & Piatkus through Netgalley

*THIS REVIEW WILL BE PUBLISHED ON MY BLOG 20th JUNE 2020*

I had been yearning to read this book ever since I saw it doing the rounds on BookTube, so, when I saw it was available to request on NetGalley, I jumped at the chance. The acceptance email shot back at me and I dived into the funniest, sexiest and most heart-warming novel I've read this year. I could not put this book down and would have devoured it in one day if I hadn't had other plans. I often laugh inwardly when reading books but it takes something special to make me burst into audible laughter, forcing those around me to turn and judge, but this book did it time and time again. Take A Hint, Dani Brown is a hilarious study of relationships and sexuality that also touches on important themes of gender and mental health in admirable ways.

I particularly loved how Hibbert challenged traditional ideas of gender through the use of her two main characters. Dani is a strong, intelligent woman who won't be told how she should behave. She is confident in her sexuality as a bisexual woman and speaks openly about her sexual appetite with remarks like, "I'll just wank to thoughts of his beard until my perfect fuck buddy materializes" (2%). I love to see a woman in literature displaying sexual freedom, unafraid to voice her desires or enjoy sexual acts and I think this is hugely important for young women to read about and learn from. On the flip side, Hibbert also tackles issues relating to masculinity through the character of Zaf and the workshops he does with young male rugby players. These classes were "designed to show them that vulnerability wasn't a crime, no matter what society tried to teach them" so that they "learned that dealing with mental health didn't make them 'weak'" (14%). Just as she calls for women to be strong and confident in themselves, Hibbert also urges men to get in touch with their emotions and argues that there is nothing wrong with being vulnerable. The author challenges gender stereotypes of both men and women through two engaging and amiable characters.

One of the reasons that Zaf runs these workshops is because of his own struggles with anxiety, a condition that I felt was represented wonderfully throughout the novel. One phrase that particularly resonated with me was when Zaf contemplated how there was no quick fix for mental health, "some people's brains just thought too much or felt too much or hurt too much, and you had to stay on top of that" (60%). Having struggled with anxiety for many years myself, I strongly related to this idea as I often explain it in the same way. When people ask me why I let things get to me or why I'm so worried about the smallest things, I say that it's often not something I can control or explain, it's just how my brain works. Furthermore, when Zaf has a panic attack halfway through the book, Dani responds in the best way, simply saying, "If I can help, let me know. Otherwise, feel free to ignore me. I'll still be here" (44%). This is exactly what is needed when you are experiencing a panic attack, you are too distressed to interact properly with another human being but just knowing someone is beside you, supporting you, makes the world of difference. I felt so understood when reading this novel and would urge those close to someone who deals with anxiety to read it as a lot can be learned from it in terms of comprehending their struggle and supporting them through it.

This novel is the second in a series about the Brown sisters, with each book exploring a different sister's love life. I was told that you did not need to read them in order of publication so this was the first of Hibbert's books that I had indulged in. Having rated this 5 stars, I now need to get my hands on the first book, Get A Life, Chloe Brown, and I patiently await the release of the third.

I must say I may not be the target audience for this book, but it was still enjoyable. Sexy and funny, Dani is a great heroine and this is quite a romp. I haven't read Ms Hibbert's other books but I gather some if the characters gave appeared in earlier works. Certainly fun but maybe don't let your granny borrow it ;)

Take a Hint, Dani Brown is a hilarious romance, with strong and extremely likeable relatable characters, which will appeal to fans of social media. It's a very relevant read, that is great for summer.

Just like the first book, I really enjoyed this romance. It follows Danika Brown, Chloe's sister and PhD student, and Zafir Ansari, a security guard and creator of a rugby program called Tackle it which helps boys with their emotions. He's also an ex-Pro.

Dani is incredibly career driven and doesn't enjoy romance. She's had bad experiences in the past, meaning she's stopped trying. She's really passionate about her studies, and is a bit of a workaholic. Zaf is sensitive and a romantic. He lost family a few years ago and has suffered from anxiety most of his life. I thought it was really good to read about this kind of man in a rom com - I liked Zaf's character a lot and his wider family.

The relationship between Dani and Zaf is addictive because they're so different, but so good for each other. They've been friends for a while, and when they start to fake date it changes things. I loved the romance, and I loved the touching moments between family, especially the bond between the Brown sisters. It was good to see Chloe and Red getting on so well too. I love characters that aren't stereotypes and both the main characters are unique for rom coms. This was a really enjoyable read (but I wasn't a fan of some of the sex parts but I think it was just a bit too blunt for me). Can't wait to read Eve's story in the 3rd book!

I don't really read much romance and this was enjoyable.

The first half was funny and well-paced, setting up the characters, and the fake dating premise and the motivations behind that well.

It started to falter a little when the leads became too self-aware too soon. They both knew their own hangups in too much detail. This caused a slightly baggy middle section where, because they knew their own issues, it dragged a bit.

Then, the resolution was a little messy, the change of heart too sudden and then after that too long.

Thanks to netgalley and the publisher for a copy in exchange for an honest review. I would read the author again.

Yay, she’s back, impressive chest and all! Dani Brown, fabulous and knows it, studying for her PhD and teaching some literature classes, workaholic, ambitious, been badly let down in love and doesn’t do commitment. That is until Zafir Ansari .... ex-rugby player, security guard, runs classes to help kids overcome anxiety, anxiety sufferers himself since a family tragedy, lover of romance novels and one red hot gorgeous man. They share ‘good mornings’ , tea and coffee, smart comments until they hatch a plan and things shall we say, develop.

First of all, Talia Hibbert creates fantastic characters that are colourful, extremely likeable and their personalities jump of the pages! Dani, her sisters and grandmother are fabulous as is Zaf and his extended family. The dynamics are just great and very heartwarming. The dialogue is clever, funny, smart, sassy and sexy at times. I really like the focus on anxiety which I think is an important topic and Zaf works hard to help others to overcome it, which in turn helps him. Dani herself has anxiety especially over commitment and will run away from it if she can. This book is a lot more steamy than the first book, in fact, it is very steamy in places, so be warned!! The ending is lovely and really sweet.

Overall, a really good, fun, well written read and I enjoyed the escapism with lovely characters for a few hours. I am really looking forward to the next Brown sisters instalment.

With thanks to NetGalley and Little, Brown Book Group, Piatkus for the Arc.
